Abstract

Abstract

Cost, time, and development effort can increase due to errors in analyzing functional and non-functional software requirements. To minimize these errors, previous research has tried to classify software requirements, especially non-functional requirements, on the PROMISE dataset using the Bag of Words (BoW) feature extraction and the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification algorithm. On the other hand, the unbalanced distribution of class labels tends to decrease the evaluation result. Moreover, most software requirements are usually functional requirements. Therefore, there is a tendency for classifier models to classify test data as functional requirements. Previous research has performed class balancing on a dataset to handle unbalanced data. The study can achieve better classification evaluation results. Based on the previous research, this study proposes to combine the class balancing method and the SVM algorithm. K-fold cross-validation is used to optimize the training and test data to be more consistent in developing the SVM model. Tests were carried out on the value of K in k-fold, i.e., 5, 10, and 15. Results are measured by accuracy, f1-score, precision, and recall. The Public Requirements (PURE) dataset has been used in this research. Results show that SVM with class balancing can classify software requirements more accurately than SVM without class balancing. Random Over Sampling is the class balancing method with the highest evaluation score for classifying software requirements on SVM. The results showed an improvement in the average value of accuracy, f1 score, precision, and recall in SVM by 22.07%, 19.67%, 17.73%, and 19.67%, respectively.

Abstract

The increasing volume of household waste in Indonesia has raised the need for efficient waste management solutions. This study developed an Internet of Things (IoT)-based waste classification system aimed at optimizing waste processing. The system integrates digital scales, ESP32 microcontrollers, and cloud-based servers to collect, monitor, and manage waste data in real-time. Using the Prototype Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method, the system was designed, implemented, and evaluated iteratively to meet user needs effectively. The system allows users to input waste type, verifies the data with a PIN, and transmits it to a server for centralized management. Testing results demonstrated high accuracy in weight measurements, consistency between devices, and seamless data integration into the system. The IoT-based system not only reduces operational workload but also supports efficient recycling by categorizing waste with economic value. Further research is recommended to expand the system's application to larger communities and explore its integration into broader waste management platforms.

Abstract

Effective waste management requires the separation of waste types into categories such as organic, non-organic, and recyclable. This is necessary because not all types of waste can be processed. Therefore, accurate recording of waste types and weights is crucial in waste processing. A common issue today is that waste data is still recorded manually, leading to a lack of accuracy in the records. This research aims to develop an IoT-based waste type recording tool that can accurately record the weight and type of waste by retrieving values from a scale and transmitting the data in real-time to a waste processing system. The device development method used is the prototype model. This research successfully connected to and retrieved values directly from the Sayaki T-18 digital scale, ensuring that the weight values sent to the system are more accurate. During the testing of the developed IoT device, it accurately recorded and transmitted the quantity and type of waste as specified by the user, and the data stored in the system matched the test data accurately.

Abstract

PT Raja Perkasa, a construction company, faces challenges in operational management and employee performance. This study aims to develop a web-based management system to address these issues. The application includes management of portfolios, partner data, collaboration proposals, project data, and employee information, along with attendance tracking. Additional features include leave management, resignation processing, and issuing warnings to employees. The Waterfall method was applied, covering requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Laravel served as the framework, while MySQL was used as the database management system, enhancing development efficiency and effectiveness. After local testing, the application was hosted for user access. During maintenance, bug fixes were performed, and user satisfaction was measured through questionnaires from 23 respondents, comprising seven user types: admin, project manager, owner, HR, employees, company partners, and application visitors. Results indicate strong agreement among all user types that the application features met their needs and provided a positive experience. However, further development is needed to add employee recruitment, project scheduling, and financial management features, with an emphasis on data security. This application aims to strengthen PT Raja Perkasa's position in the construction industry and improve project management and employee productivity
