Abstract

The community service was conducted in Mompang Village, Padangsidimpuan District, Angkola Julu. This ac tivity aims to increase public knowledge and produce innovations in the processing of poultry production. Eggs are one of the livestock products that are easily damaged in storage and have a fishy taste, especially duck eggs. The used of natural salt and spices can produce salted eggs with a variety of aromas such as soto flavor, rendang and spicy so as to reduce fishy smell and increase egg retention. This activity was held on July 15, 2018 which was attended by 22 participants. The method used was the socialization and demonstration of making various salted roasted eggs. Based on the results of organoleptic testing, making various salted eggs is quite good to reduce the fishy flavor contained in duck eggs so that it can increase the amount of consumption, with this activity can increase public knowledge about processing livestock products.

Abstract

This research aimed to study the substitution of soybean meal (SBM) with Indigofera zollingeriana top leaf meal (ILM) in the diet on egg quality of Japanese quails. The experiment used a completely randomized design with five treatments and four replications (ten quails of each replication). The dietary treatment contained five combination of SBM and ILM, R0= diets contained 18% SBM without ILM, R1= diet contained 16.2% SBM and 2.66% ILM, R2= diet contained 14.4% SBM and 5.32% ILM, R3= diet contained 12.6% SBM and 7.98% ILM, R4= diet contained 9% SBM and 13.3% ILM. The results showed that the use of 13.3% ILM (R4) significantly (P<0.05) increased feed consumption, egg weight, yolk colour score, egg cholesterol, and reduced malondialdehyde level. The conclusion of this study was I. zollingeriana top leaf meal could be used as much as 13.3% in the diets. The use of I. zollingeriana top leaf meal could improve the quality of eggs physically and chemically.Key words: eggs quality, Indigofera zollingeriana, soybean meal, quail

Abstract

The study used 200 Japanese quail (Cortunix Cortunix japonica) aged eight weeks with a daily egg production of > 50%. This research aimed to study the substitutions of soybean meal (SBM) with Indigofera zollingeriana top leaf meal (ILM) in the diet on of the quail production performance. The experiment was conducted using a complete random design with five treatments and four repeats (10 quail tails each). The dietary treatment contained fve kind of combination of of SBM and ILM, R0= diets contained 18% SBM without ILM, R1= 16.2% SBM and 2.66% ILM, R2= 14.4% SBM and 5.32% ILM, R3= 12.6% SBM and 7.98% ILM, R4= 9% SBM and 13.3% ILM. The result showed that the used 2.66%, 5.32%, 13.3% ILM (R4) significantly (P<0.05) to quail egg production, egg mass production, and ration conversion. The conclusion of this sstudy was Indigofera zollingeriana top leaf meal could be used as much as 13.3% in the diets and could improve the quail production performance.Key words : Indigofera zollingeriana, Production performance Quail,

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh suplementasi tepung buah andaliman (TBA) sebagai feed additivedalam ransum terhadap performa broiler. Penelitian ini menggunakan 80 ekor broiler strain CP 707 (Charoen Pokphand Indonesia), ransum perlakuan mulai diberikan umur 3 hari dengan bobot badan rata-rata 71.28±3.07 g/ekor sampai umur 30 hari. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, setiap ulangan terdiri dari lima ekor broiler. Ransum perlakuan yang diberikan adalah: P1= ransum basal + 0% TBA (kontrol); P2= ransum basal + 0,25% suplementasi TBA; P3= ransum basal + 0,50% suplementasi TBA; P4= ransum basal + 0,75% suplementasi TBA. Parameter yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah performa broiler yang terdiri dari konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi ransum. Hasil penelitian suplementasi TBA di dalam ransum terhadap performa broiler memberikan pengaruh tidak nyata (p>0,05). Kesimpulan hasil penelitian adalah suplementasi TBA dalam ransum 0,25-0,75% tidak mempengaruhi performa broiler.Kata Kunci: broiler, feed additive, performa, Zantoxylum achantopodium, DCSupplementation of Andaliman FruitMeal (Zantoxylum achantopodium, DC) as feed additive on Broiler PerformanceABSTRACTThis study aimed to examine the effect of Andaliman Fruit Meal (AFM) supplementation as a feed additive in the ration on broiler performance. This study used 80 broiler strains CP 707 (Charoen Pokphand Indonesia) which were given treatment rations from 3 days of age (average body weight 71.28±3.07 g/bird) until 30 days of age. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 4 replications, five broilers per replication. The treatment rations given were: P1 = basal ration + 0% AFM (control); P2= basal ration + 0.25% AFM supplementation; P3= basal ration + 0.50% AFM supplementation; P4 = basal ration + 0.75% AFM supplementation. The observed variables were broiler performance (ration consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion). The results showed that AFM supplementation in the ration had no significant effect (p>0.05) on broiler performance. Abstract

Ayam KUB adalah salah satu ayam yang merupakan hasil seleksi 6 generasi, keunggulan ayam KUB adalah pertumbuhan yang cepat dibandingkan dengan ayam kampung lainnya. Ayam KUB tidak akan berproduksi dengan baik, apabila beberapa aspek pemeliharaan seperti pakan, pembibitan dan tatalaksana pemeliharaan tidak diperhatikan. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimana Evaluasi Fisik Ransum Ternak Ayam KUB di Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui evaluasi fisik ransum ternak ayam KUB di Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Survey dengan teknik deskripsi dokumentasi, wawancara, dan mengambil sampel ransum yang diformulasi oleh peternak. Evaluasi ransum ayam KUB peternak Rayan, kelompok Tanjung Indah Sejahtera dan Peternak Egi Nurdiansyah disimpulkan bahwa kualitas ransum masing peternak berbeda sangat nyata terhadap tesktur, bau, warna ransum. Uji t yang telah dilakukan didapatkan bahwa Hasil analisis t bahwa Perbandingan Tekstur ransum ayam peternak Rayan dengan tekstur ransum Tanjung Indah Sejahtera rataan nya 0,015, Uji t 0,053 ini menunjukan yang tidak nyata (P>0,05). Sedangkan tekstur Ransum peternak Rayan banding Tekstur ransum peternak Egi memperlihatkan yang berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) sementara Uji t tektstur ransum kelompok Tanjung Indah Sejahtera banding Tekstur ransum Egi di dapatkan berbeda hasil tidak nyata (P>0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tektur ransum antar peternak ayam KUB menunjukkan yang tidak nyata, ini disebakan bahan penyusun ransum dan komposisi bahan penyusun hampir sama yang terdiri dari jagung, dedak, konsentrat dengan komposisi 1:1:2. Hasil analisis Uji t bahwa Warna ransum peternak Rayan bandingkan Warna ransum kelompok Tanjung Indah Sejahtera memperlihatkan yang sangat nyata (P< 0,05). Sementara Warna ransum peternak Rayan bandingkan Warna ransum peternak Egi memperlihatkan yang nyata (P<0,05), dan Warna ransum kelompok Tanjung Indah Sejahtera bandingkan Warna ransum peternak Egi memperlihatkan berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05). Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwa warna ransum peternak Rayan berwarna lebih cerah yaitu kuning sementara ransum peternak kelompok tanjung berwarna kuning kecoklatan tetapi ransum peternak egi berwarna kecoklatan. Warna suatu ransum akan di pengaruhi oleh warna bahan penyusun ransum tersebut. Semakin gelap warna bahan penyusun ransum mengakibatkan ransum juga berwarna gelap. Hasil analisis Uji t didapat bahwa bau ransum peternak Bau Rayan banding Bau ransum kelompok Tanjung Indah Sejahtera memperlihatkan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,05). Sedangkan Bau Ransum peternak Rayan bandingkan bau ransum peternak Egi memperlihatkan yang berbeda tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Bau Ransum peternak kelompok Tanjung Indah Sejahtera bandingkan Bau ransum peternak Egi memperlihatkan berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,05). Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwa bau ransum peternak Rayan dan peternak Egi memperlihatkan yang sangat nyata sedangkan peternak kelompok tanjung memperlihat yang tidak nyata. Ini disebabkan bau masing-masing bahan penyusun ransum juga berbeda.
