Abstract

The Phenomenon of LGBT Behavior Among Muslims and Christians: A Case Study of Social Media. While the type of research used by the author is a library research. As for the data analysis using descriptive qualitative methods, content analysis comparative methods, and hermeneutic methods. Problems on social media related to LGBT come from pornographic sites where users can easily participate, share and create content in the virtual world which is immediately widespread, apart from that there are facts proving this deviation, also because this issue is a classic issue that then it is developing again at the present time, especially in the community and has a very negative impact because it can damage the morale of the nation's children and is very contrary to religious norms, values and Pancasila. This research approach takes the historical approach method. The results of this study indicate that the phenomenon of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) is a group that has a different sexual orientation than heterosexuals. In Indonesia, it began to be advertised openly in people's lives. Many people claim that they are LGBT. For Muslims and Christians in Indonesia about the Sodom people at the time of Prophet Lut who were punished by God for same-sex sexual behavior that deviated and left religious teachings. One of the developments of LGBT is the spread of social media where users can communicate, share and create content by spreading photos or videos. The issue of sexual deviance has become the object of debate where people still think that LGBT behavior is an act that is not appropriate. And some people think that everyone has the right to freedom of belief, express thoughts and attitudes according to their conscience. This finding is in accordance with Akhmad Said Asrori The Executive Board of Nadhlatul Ulama (PBNU) emphasized that he rejects the practice or actions of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) because it greatly deviates from the teachings of Islam. All Muslims are obliged to guide LGBT actors to the right path. Research, these findings disagree with the world leader Barrack Obama who legalized same-sex marriage and indicated that he supports LGBT people. Same-sex couples who wish to marry, can register their marriage at the US civil registry office.

Abstract

The Metamorphosis of Sacrifice in Islam and Judaism. This change will be seen from the point of view of the implementation of the sacrifice from the time of the Prophet Adam, the prophet Abraham to the time of the prophet Muhammad as the bearer of the last treatise. This study of the metamorphosis of sacrifice is the background of this research problem. The author will look at related issues, namely: how is the metamorphosis of sacrificial worship in Islam and Judaism. This discussion also examines the similarities and differences in sacrifice in Islam and Judaism. In this way, it will be known how sacrifices are made in Islam and Judaism so that there will be differences between the two. This type of research approach used by the author is Library Research. The data analysis uses the comparative (comparative) method of Islam and Judaism, with a theological approach. The result of this research is that the sacrifice is prescribed, it is introduced to humans in the form of offerings to God according to what they have. In the period between Prophet Adam and Prophet Abraham, the sacrificial service was changed to a ritual offering of offerings to idols, which were worshiped by the prophets of Noah, the prophets of Hud and the people of the prophet Salih. At the time of the prophet Abraham, the transformation of the sacrifice was changed to an offering by slaughtering a good lamb. The transformation of sacrificial worship after the time of the prophet Abraham was by leading the fire as a sign of acceptance of the sacrifice. Furthermore, during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, the sacrificial service was carried out by slaughtering sacrificial animals in the form of Bahimah Al An'am (livestock), which was carried out after carrying out the Eid al-Adha prayer. Whereas in Judaism, the first Sacrifice order was carried out by Abraham to Isaac's son but was replaced with a lamb. The command to sacrifice changed from human to animal.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the Christian view of the Devil's Hierarchy, and how the Devil's Hierarchy forms according to the book The Complete Book Oof Demonolatry, and how the Qur'an views the Devil's Hierarchy. This type of research uses library research through a normative theological approach. This thesis explores data from two sources, namely primary and secondary sources, the primary source is The Complete Book of Demonolatry by S. Connolly and secondary sources, namely articles, websites, books, literature, documents and the Bible. The research results show that Satan regulates the hierarchy evil spirits who inhabit the air and who help him to rule the kingdom of darkness. the term "Devil's Hierarchy" is not specifically mentioned in the Bible. However, several verses give views of the existence of different levels or roles among the demons, which can sometimes be interpreted as hierarchies. The forms of the Hierarchy of Demons are very diverse, there are many different classifications of each Occultist or Bishop. But in the Qur'an there are no verses that tell about the existence of a ruler or leader of Satan. This means that according to the Islamic Religion, this Devil's Hierarchy is not something that must be studied or understood more deeply.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of political ethics in the management of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) in North Sumatra. It focuses on decision-making, cadre formation, political campaigns, discipline enforcement, and the impact of political ethics on public perception and party performance. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study incorporates in-depth interviews with PDIP cadres, students, and community members, along with document analysis of internal policies. Findings reveal that PDIP North Sumatra has integrated political ethics through transparency, moral-based cadre training, and ethical campaigning. However, challenges remain, including external political pressure, a pragmatic local political culture, and internal resistance to change. Despite these obstacles, consistent adherence to political ethics has enhanced the party’s image, strengthened public trust, and improved its political standing. The study concludes that successful political ethics implementation depends on leadership, organizational culture, and external political dynamics. Recommendations include strengthening internal oversight, enhancing political education for cadres, and collaborating with independent institutions to ensure ethical governance. This research contributes to understanding how political ethics shape local party dynamics and democratic development in Indonesia.

Abstract

HaGAF (Happy Aidilfitri Day) is a local cultural heritage of the Gunting Saga Village community, North Labuhanbatu Regency, which has since its inception served as a medium for religious and social expression in celebrating Eid al-Fitr. However, the acceleration of globalization, the penetration of popular culture, and lifestyle changes especially among the younger generation have driven a significant transformation of this tradition. This study aims to analyze the form of HaGAF transformation, identify its driving factors, and examine the role of the local community and government in its preservation. Using a qualitative approach with participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques, this study found that HaGAF has evolved from a traditional, ritual-based celebration into a more inclusive and modern festival, encompassing a music festival, a digital content competition, and an e-sports tournament. Despite this modernization, traditional elements remain intact through the involvement of the younger generation and the promotion of cultural values via social media. The local government plays a crucial role in supporting the sustainability of this tradition by granting permits and securing events. Theoretically, these findings reinforce Clifford Geertz's view that culture is a dynamic system of meaning that is continually reinterpreted according to changing social contexts. On the contrary, these results challenge the structural-functional approach as proposed by Bronislaw Malinowski and Talcott Parsons which tends to see tradition as a stable component in the social system to maintain order, often ignoring the internal adaptation and progress of culture.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the influence of ethnic identity in political communication in Teluk Pulai Village, Kualuh Leidong Sub-district, Labuhanbatu Utara Regency. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, data was collected through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with community leaders, village heads, and residents from various ethnicities. The results show that political communication in Teluk Pulai Village shows that ethnic identity becomes social and symbolic capital in strengthening community cohesion. Traditional and political leaders utilise culture, language, and traditional rituals to build legitimacy and emotional closeness. Informal communication and cultural symbols are effective in conveying political messages. However, unwise ethnic politicisation risks divisiveness, so inclusive, dialogic and contextualised political narratives are needed to maintain unity and democratic participation. While the politicisation of ethnic identity can lead to social fragmentation, inclusive, dialogue-based political communication across ethnic lines strengthens social cohesion and the legitimacy of local leaders. This study confirms the importance of integrating socio-cultural aspects in political communication to support democracy and stability in coastal multiethnic societies

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the mutasyabihat verse in the book Ash Shirat Al Mustaqim by Shaykh Abdullah Al Harari and its implications for the faith. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data was obtained from primary data sources, namely the book Ash Shirat Al Mustaqim, published by Shaykh Abdullah Al Harari in 2002, and secondary data sources, namely books and journal articles. The results of the research show that in Ash-Shirath al-Mustaqim, Shaykh Abdullah al-Harari interpreted the mutasyabihat verse using tafwidh and ta’wil methods to maintain the faith of tajsim and emphasize the principle of tanzih. For example, Istiwa’ means mastering the ‘arsh, Wajh the direction of the Qibla, Nur the giver of guidance, Yad the power of Allah, and Ja’a the signs of Allah power. This interpretation emphasizes the ability of ta’wil so that the Ahlussunnah creed is maintained, according to the word of Allah laysa kamitslihi syai’.

Abstract

North Sumatra is a province with high ethnic and cultural diversity, making it a dynamic yet challenging social space. Medan City, as the provincial capital, is a hub for interaction among Batak, Malay, and Chinese communities. This study examines the dynamics of these interethnic relations in the context of history, urbanization, and contemporary multiculturalism. Using a qualitative approach with historical and sociocultural methods, data were collected through literature review, in-depth interviews with community leaders and academics, and participatory observation. The findings reveal that interethnic relations in Medan are shaped by colonial legacies, social inequality, prejudice, and limited intercultural dialogue. Although cultural initiatives such as festivals foster symbolic interaction, they have not resolved structural issues of segregation. Strengthening social integration requires inclusive public policies, intercultural education, and urban planning that promotes equal encounters. This study contributes to understanding multicultural dynamics in urban Indonesia and offers insights for fostering social harmony in diverse societies.

Abstract

Abstract: This study investigates the suboptimal performance of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) in North Labuhanbatu Regency, where ineffective legislative and oversight functions hinder regional social autonomy. Employing a qualitative descriptive methodology, data from in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis were processed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña framework to identify critical determinants and propose a model for institutional strengthening. The primary finding reveals that the DPRD's ineffectiveness stems not from individual member capabilities but from a fundamental deficiency in institutional capacity, manifested by inadequate operational budget and facilities. This directly compromises legislative productivity and oversight. Conceptually, the research shifts focus from individual to institutional analysis. Policy recommendations emphasize a paradigm shift towards holistic institutional strengthening, advocating for adequate resource allocation and facilities as prerequisites to optimize DPRD functions in fostering social autonomy.
