Abstract

The 1997 economic crisis was a miserable history for the Indonesian. The New Order government, which was unable to handle the storm of crises, made people's lives even more miserable. The economic reforms carried out by the post-New Order government were expected to overcome the crisis. This study aims to explore the various strategies adopted by the government at the beginning of the reform to deal with the crisis. The government in question is from 1999 to 2004. The research method uses the historical method with 4 steps, namely heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The years 2001 and 2002 recorded the highest inflation rates, the weakening of the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar, and the highest annual interest rates. The strategy undertaken to deal with the economic crisis included carrying out Monetary Policy (controlling the money supply and raising SBI interest rates), bank liquidation, forming the National Economic Council, financial restructuring, and increasing investment. These various strategies have had a positive impact on reducing the rate of inflation and increasing the rate of economic growth.

Abstract

In the 20th century, Cirebon Residency became a sugar-producing area for the Dutch East Indies Government. This study aims to analyze the development of the sugar industry in the Cirebon Residency in the period 1897-1930, to find out the development of railway companies in the Cirebon Residency in 1897-1930, and to understand the role of SCS in the development of the sugar industry in the Cirebon Residency in 1897-1930. This research uses historical methods that include heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The heuristic stage is carried out through the search of primary and secondary sources. The source is then verified using internal and external criticism. Verified sources are then interpreted and written in historiography. The results of this study show that the increase in the sugar industry in Cirebon Residency began after the Agrarian Law of 1870 which made it easier for private entrepreneurs to invest, including in sugar commodities. The increasing demand for sugar exports has made the Government of the Dutch East Indies strive to improve transportation facilities in Cirebon, one of which is through the construction of railway lines. This project involves several companies including Semarang-Cheribon Stoomtram (SCS). The construction of the railway began to be carried out by the SCS company in 1895. The SCS company succeeded in inaugurating the first railway line in Cirebon inaugurated in 1897, followed by the construction of a tram line in the Cirebon Residency in the period 1901-1930 connecting Prujakan-Kadhipaten. The construction of railway lines and trams by SCS had an impact on the increase in sugar factories in Cirebon Residency so that the sugar industry grew in 1897-1930. This development is shown by the increase in the number of sugar factories in Cirebon which affects the increase in sugar production and exports.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the extent to which students' critical thinking skills are improved by the utilization of the smart apps creator program. A quasi-experimental research methodology utilizing a nonequivalent control group design is applied. Purposive sampling was used to choose 150 students for the research sample. A multiple-choice exam was used to gather data. The Mann-Whitney U Test and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data. The n-gain value for the experimental class was 0.7629, whereas that of the control class was 0.3144. These results demonstrated that students' critical thinking abilities had improved in both groups. This suggests that students who use the Smart Apps Creator application learn more effectively than those who do not in terms of their critical thinking abilities. The Mann Whitney U Test hypothesis test value at the Asymptotic Sig. A value (2-sided test) of 0.000 <0.05 indicates this. The utilization of the smart applications Creator program is found to be highly beneficial in enhancing pupils' critical thinking abilities. According to the research, students can benefit from the Smart Application Creator application by having their learning demands met and their critical thinking abilities enhanced. Teachers can use it to become more creative in creating unique learning activities and to serve as a resource for resolving various issues in learning exercises.  The contribution of this research to the future is to serve as a reference for implementing the national curriculum in Indonesia as a learning medium that can be integrated with in-depth learning.

Abstract

This study was conducted in public junior high schools spread across West Java which are quality schools in the district/city, which amounted to 21 schools In this study the author used "Effective Schools, School-Based Quality Improvement Management," as the grand theory. This study is intended to explain the effectiveness of the relationship between the vision, mission and quality of school performance. This study uses quantitative methods with descriptive statistical research models because the sample used is a saturated sample model because the population is less than 30. Data were obtained by distributing valid and reliable instruments to each school, with 8 (eight) respondents per school consisting of: principals and vice principals, Mathematics, Science and English teachers and school committees.  In this study, the independent variable is the vision and mission of the school while the quality of school performance is the dependent variable. In this study the authors found that:  Correlation of vision, school mission based on the results of the analysis showed a moderate/sufficient relationship to the quality of school performance, but did not affect the quality of school performance, this means that the vision and mission of the school did not make an important contribution to the school in improving the quality of its performance. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri yang tersebar di wilayah Jawa Barat yang merupakan sekolah bermutu di kabupaten/ kota, yang jumlahnya 21 sekolah  Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan ”Sekolah Efektif, Manajemen Peningkatan Mutu Berbasis Sekolah,” sebagai grand theory. Studi ini dimaksudkan untuk menjelaskan efektifitas hubungan antara  visi, misi sekolah  terhadap mutu kinerja sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan model penelitian statistik deskriptif  karena sampel yang digunakan adalah model sampel jenuh karena jumlah populasinya kurang dari 30. Data diperoleh dengan cara menyebarkan instrument yang valid dan reliabel kepada tiap sekolah, dengan responden tiap sekolahnya 8 (delapan) orang yang terdiri dari : kepala sekolah dan wakil kepala sekolah, Guru Matematika, IPA dan Guru Bahasa Inggris serta Komite sekolah.  Dalam penelitian ini yang menjadi variabel bebas adalah visi, misi sekolah sedangkan mutu kinerja sekolah sebagai variabel terikat. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menemukan hasil  bahwa:  Korelasi visi, misi sekolah  berdasarkan hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan sedang/cukup terhadap mutu kinerja sekolah, tetapi tidak mempengeruhi mutu kinerja sekolah, hal ini berarti visi dan misi sekolah sekolah tidak memberikan kontribusi penting kepada sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu kinerjanya.
