Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of transformational leadership and self-leadership on adaptive performance, as well as the mediating role of psychological empowerment during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. This research was conducted on employees of culinary SMEs in West Java by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The data was then analyzed using SEM-PLS. The findings of this study prove that transformational leadership and self-leadership have an influence on psychological empowerment, and that psychological empowerment has an influence on adaptive performance. It was also found that psychological empowerment mediates the effect of transformational leadership and self-leadership on adaptive performance. This study provides suggestions for businesses and organizations to manage and improve the adaptive performance of their employees during organizational crises.

Abstract

In business, service quality and store atmosphere have a very important relationship, this is because when the service provided from a product or service is optimal in accordance with consumer expectations and supported by a good atmosphere, it will create a good company image in the minds of consumers. Service quality and store atmosphere can encourage consumers to make repeat purchases, this is because consumers who have received service according to their expectations and the atmosphere provided by the company provides comfort, consumers will feel happy with what they receive. This study aims to determine how the quality of service, store atmosphere, and repurchase interest at Delapan Belas Coffee And Beverages, Eatery. This study was conducted on consumers of Delapan Belas Coffee And Beverages, Eatery as a sample of 100 respondents by distributing questionnaires. The analysis method used is quantitative with descriptive and verification analysis. To process the data using Microsoft Excel 2019 and the SPSS 25 program for windows. The results of the study stated that the variables of service quality, store atmosphere, and repurchase interest are in the good category. The results also show that service quality has an impact on repurchase interest and store atmosphere has an impact on repurchase interest.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to understand the influence of organizational agility and organizational resilience towards SMEs business performance and analyze the mediating role of strategic change and the moderating role of environmental uncertainty.Design/methodology/approach – This study uses quantitative approach with survey method. The population of the study is SMEs business actors in Bandung, West Java. The samples are chosen for about 250 respondents using purposive sampling, while the data is processed using structural equation modelling with Partial Least Square.Findings – The results indicate positive influence of organizational agility on organizational resilience, as well as organizational resilience on SMEs business growth. Additionally, strategic change is found to mediate the relationship of organizational resilience towards SMEs business growth. Environmental uncertainty can strengthen the influence of organizational resilience on strategic change.Research limitations/implications – The results of this research provide evidence that the underlying mechanisms for increasing organizational resilience and SME business growth can be seen from the perspective of organizational agility and choosing the right strategy.Practical implications – This study underscores the importance of building organizational agility and resilience to face dynamic environmental situation characterized by rapid change. When SMEs are adaptive and more responsive in carrying out their business, this can lead to positive outcomes for their growth.Originality/value – The present study provides the underlying mechanisms that shows how organizational agility and resilience can lead to SMEs business growth which operate in the uncertain environment.
