Abstract

Fermented milk in the form of yogurt is a type of processed milk that is beneficial for the body's health. This product could become a home industry scale entrepreneurial product for the Raudhatul Madinah Islamic boarding school, Batu. Quality products whose quality is maintained over time will certainly be a special attraction for customers. This service activity aims to provide education about quality control of fermented milk products at the Raudhatul Madinah-Batu Islamic Boarding School. The methods used are lectures, discussions, questions and answers, and mentoring. The form of yogurt quality control is outlined in the SOP document, then pH tests and organoleptic tests (sour, aroma, texture) are also carried out on the yogurt products produced. Then, participants were asked to fill out a partner satisfaction questionnaire with service activities. The results of the questionnaire showed that 62% of participants agreed and 37% strongly agreed that they were satisfied with the service activities carried out.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: kurangnya interaksi orang tua mempengaruhi kosakata anak yang sedikitsehingga mengakibatkan anak terlambat berbicara atau kesulitan mengungkapkan kata-kata. Tujuan: penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara interaksi orang tua dan anakterhadap perkembangan bahasa anak prasekolah di tk budi mulia banjarbaru. Metode: penelitian ini menggunakan metode sampling purposive sampling, dengan jumlah sampel44 responden pada bulan februari 2023. pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner dan lembardenver II. uji statistik ini menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil: hasil penelitian menunjukkan interaksi orang tua dan anak yang baik 85,2% hasilperkembangan Bahasa anak yang normal 61,4%. Kesimpulan: pada uji statistik interaksi orang tua dan anak dengan perkembangan bahasamenunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan (p-value 0,0002). kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalahterdapat hubungan antara interaksi orang tua dan anak terhadap perkembangan bahasa anakprasekolah. diharapkan penelitian selanjutnya dapat mengkaji faktor-faktor lain selain interaksiorang tua-anak yang mempengaruhi perkembangan bahasa pada anak prasekolah, kami berharapbidan dan petugas kesehatan sekolah dapat membantu menyediakan fasilitas parenting dan dorongan untuk mendukung tumbuh kembang anak, kami berharap sekolah, orang tua/wali dan keluarga memahami bahwa perkembangan anak harus didorong secara memadai dan harus diberi stimulus.

Abstract

Limbah dari elektroplating yang mengandung tembaga (Cu) dan besi (Fe) sangat beracun dan dapat menyebabkan gejala keracunan logam berat pada manusia jika masuk ke dalam organ pada konsentrasi yang cukup tinggi. Karbon aktif yang dimodifikasi dari limbah kulit kacang tanah dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi masalah limbah elektroplating melalui proses adsorpsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas karbon aktif dari limbah kulit kacang yang dimodifikasi menggunakan metode kopresipitasi sebagai adsorben logam Cu dan Fe dalam limbah elektroplating artificial, dengan variasi massa karbon aktif dan waktu kontak adsorpsi. Pirolisis pada suhu 350 °C dilakukan selama 120 menit, kemudian diikuti dengan proses aktivasi selama 2 jam menggunakan NaOH 20% untuk menghasilkan arang aktif. Kopresipitasi dalam larutan garam besi 90°C dilakukan untuk memodifikasi karbon aktif. Kualitas karbon aktif untuk mengurangi logam berat dalam limbah elektroplating buatan ditentukan oleh variasi massa karbon aktif yang dimodifikasi sebesar 5%, 10%, dan 15% b/v dan durasi waktu kontak selama 30, 60, 90 menit. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penurunan kadar logam berat Cu dalam limbah Cu adalah 94,51%, kadar logam Fe dalam limbah Fe adalah 83,52%, dan kadar logam Cu dalam campuran limbah Cu Fe adalah 92,67%, menurut pemeriksaan kapasitas absorpsi.

Abstract

Majelis Kesejahteraan Sosial Pimpinan Daerah ‘Aisyiyah (PDA) Kota Malang merupakan lembaga/organisasi perempuan islam yang sedang mengupayakan pemberdayaan UMKM di lingkungan ‘Aisyiyah Kota Malang. Tim pengabdian masyarakat bekerjasama dengan PDA Kota Malang untuk melaksanakan pelatihan pembuatan dan penyuluhan pengendalian mutu yogurt melalui implementasi Sistem Manajemen Mutu bagi UMKM tersebut. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta UMKM mengenai cara membuat yogurt serta pentingnya pengendalian mutu. Metode yang digunakan yaitu edukasi interaktif berupa pemaparan materi, tanya jawab, dan demo. Untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan peserta, data yang digunakan berupa nilai pretest dan posttest yang diuji melalui uji statistik. Selama pelaksanaan kegiatan, peserta sangat antusias dalam mengikuti serangkaian kegiatan. Hasil analisis data nilai pretest dan posttest peserta menunjukkan bahwa data tidak memenuhi syarat normalitas data meskipun memenuhi syarat homogenitas sehingga digunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa tidak terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan peserta secara signifikan mengenai cara pembuatan dan pengendalian mutu yogurt. Sebab nilai pretest peserta sudah baik yang berarti peserta sudah memiliki pemahaman dasar tentang pembuatan dan pengendalian mutu yogurt. Hasil kuesioner juga menunjukkan bahwa peserta merasa puas dengan kegiatan pengabdian ini. Sehingga diharapkan, ilmu yang dipelajari dapat menjadikan UMKM di lingkungan ‘Aisyiyah lebih berkembang.

Abstract

Ketapang leaves (Terminalia catappa L.) is a plant that contains chemical compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, triterpenoids or steroids, resins, and saponins. This compound has potential as an antioxidant in absorbing and neutralizing free radicals. This study aims to determine the levels of flavonoid compounds, to determine whether the ethanol extract of ketapang leaves has antioxidant activity as expressed by the IC50 value and to determine the antioxidant power of the ethanol extract of ketapang leaves. The extract was prepared by maceration method using 96% ethanol. Determination of flavonoid levels and antioxidant activity was carried out using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Antioxidant activity based on the free radical scavenging ability of the compound ABTS was measured at a wavelength of 740 nm at 17 minutes. The results of determining the levels of flavonoids in the ethanol extract of ketapang leaves were 17,710 QE. Antioxidant activity is expressed in the value of 50% Inhibitory Concentration (IC50) with a yield of 23.531 ppm in ethanol extract. Ketapang leaf ethanol extract has a very strong antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Xylanase plays a key role in hydrolyzing xylan, yet large-scale enzyme production remains limited by the high cost of purified xylan substrates. Although lignocellulosic agricultural residues offer a promising low-cost alternative, their effectiveness as substrates for Aspergillus niger and the influence of process additives on enzyme performance are not fully understood. This study addresses this gap by evaluating sugarcane bagasse and palm kernel cake as economical substrates and examining how substrate type, substrate concentration, and surfactant selection affect xylanase specific activity. Fermentation experiments were conducted using substrate concentrations of 1.5–3.0% (w/v) supplemented with Tween 20, Tween 60, or Tween 80, followed by statistical analysis using the Kruskal–Wallis test and Bonferroni-corrected Mann–Whitney U tests. Substrate concentration (p = 0.016) and surfactant type (p < 0.001) significantly influenced specific activity, whereas substrate type did not (p = 0.224). The highest activity (4.380 ± 0.052 IU/mg; median = 1.9113) was achieved using 3.0% palm kernel cake with Tween 20. These findings demonstrate that optimizing substrate load and surfactant choice is crucial for enhancing xylanase production from low-cost agro-industrial residues, providing practical insights for cost-efficient enzyme bioprocess development.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the agricultural sector face challenges in implementing environmentally friendly and cost-effective pest control. The use of synthetic pesticides has negative impacts on health and the environment. This community service activity aims to enhance farmers’ knowledge and skills in producing organic insecticides made from eco-enzyme as an alternative to synthetic pesticides. The activity was carried out in three stages: preparation (equipment and materials setup, communication material design, and evaluation instrument development), implementation (socialization, demonstration, and hands-on practice), and post-implementation (evaluation and dissemination). The effectiveness was evaluated using pretest-posttest and participant satisfaction questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase of 150% in participants’ knowledge, from an average score of 26.67 to 66.67. The satisfaction questionnaire indicated that 84% of respondents gave positive feedback on the activity. The training program successfully improved MSMEs’ capacity in producing organic insecticides and provided an environmentally friendly alternative solution for pest control.

Abstract

Coffee husk is a by-product of coffee bean processing that offers substantial potential for conversion into biofertilizer. Despite this potential, limited knowledge and technical skills among small business actors restrict the optimal utilization of this waste, reducing opportunities for value-added product development and contributing to environmental concerns. This study reports on the implementation of Technical Guidance on the Utilization of Coffee Husk as Biofertilizer to Support Sustainable Agriculture, aimed at enhancing participants’ competencies in processing coffee husk through a simple fermentation method. The program comprised theoretical instruction on the benefits and potential of coffee husk, technical training on biofertilizer production, and practical hands-on processing using basic equipment. Results demonstrated significant improvements in participants’ knowledge and skills in transforming coffee husk into biofertilizer. Evaluation surveys indicated that 77% of participants were very satisfied, while 23% were satisfied with the training. The program effectively strengthened technical capabilities, promoted productive utilization of organic waste, and supported sustainable agricultural practices.
