Abstract

Abstract

The sustainable patchouli cultivation development program aims to promote community-driven agricultural practices through academic support from higher education institutions. Implemented in Teuladan Village, Aceh Besar Regency, the program utilizes the Triple Helix collaboration model, engaging academia, the community, and industry to ensure long-term sustainability. By employing a participatory approach, the initiative provides mentoring activities, including training on cultivation techniques, land management, and market dynamics for patchouli oil. Prospective farmers are selected through the CFCL (Candidate Farmers and Candidate Locations) questionnaire, which evaluates readiness based on skills, institutional organization, availability of extension workers, use of fuel for oil distillation, and commitment levels. The program aims to enhance farmers' knowledge and skills in producing high-quality patchouli, with a focus on Aceh Besar and extending across the Aceh region. By fostering sustainable agricultural practices and improving production quality, the initiative seeks to elevate community welfare and support the economic resilience of rural areas.

Abstract

Language barriers remain a critical challenge for Indonesian students pursuing higher education abroad, potentially hindering their academic success. This study aims to analyze the effect of language skills on academic performance using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with multigroup analysis. Data were collected through an online survey from 100 Indonesian STEM students studying in Asia and Europe, selected using probability sampling. The analysis confirmed a significant positive effect of language skills on academic performance (path coefficient = 0.464; p < 0.001). However, multigroup analysis showed no significant moderating effect of instruction language, study destination, or learning system (p > 0.05 for all groups). These findings highlight that language skills consistently influence academic outcomes across different contexts. The study provides empirical evidence to support the development of targeted language support programs and inclusive academic strategies for Indonesian students abroad.

Abstract

This study analyzes the schedule delays in the foundation work of an ammonia tank construction project at a fertilizer company in Sumatra. The research identifies key risks affecting the project's schedule and assesses their impact using Monte Carlo simulation. A risk analysis framework is developed by integrating deterministic scheduling with uncertainty modeling to quantify the probability of project completion within the planned timeframe. The study applies a two-stage risk analysis approach, consisting of pre-mitigation and post-mitigation assessments. The pre-mitigation analysis shows a low probability (22%) of completing the project on time due to high-impact risks such as material delivery delays and equipment failures. Based on these findings, mitigation strategies were implemented, including optimized procurement scheduling, quality control measures, and enhanced equipment maintenance. The post-mitigation simulation results indicate a significant improvement, increasing the probability of on-time project completion to 43%. This research highlights the effectiveness of Monte Carlo simulation in identifying critical risks, optimizing mitigation measures, and improving project schedule reliability.
