Abstract

Language learning activities are carried out by language educators so that students acquire appropriate language skills after engaging in a learning experience. The nature of English language learning in the Olat Maras Community Academy Heavy Equipment Engineering Study Program is not only focused on delivering the material contained in the semester learning plan but also paying attention to creative aspects, student enthusiasm, and paying attention to the needs of students humanely and democratically. The lack of learning experience for students in general is not only triggered by the difficulty of the content of the subject matter that cannot be understood by students, but also driven by the teaching approach to a learning activity that creates little learning experience for students during learning. The type of research used is qualitative. The instrument of this research is observation and direct interview. Data analysis techniques consist of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of data analysis show that creating a learning atmosphere full of student activity must involve cognitive, affective, and psychographic students, such as inviting students to listen, practice, argue, and use learning media sourced from students' own ideas in following their study program.

Abstract

The development of increasingly advanced technology can help in the work, so that it can be done more quickly and easily. One of them is scheduling subjects using genetic algorithms. Genetic algorithm is a technique to find the best solution from several solutions so that it gets the best results according to the stopping criteria if it has done 10 experiments and reached 100 generations. This study uses teacher data, subject data, and time. The results of the study provide a list of optimal schedules with the highest fitness score of 1, where teachers do not have teaching hours at the same time. The system can assist in solving existing problems, which can process data to carry out the scheduling process.

Abstract

The connection ability and disposition of mathematics of junior high school students still need to be improved. This research purpose to analyze the enhancement of connection of mathematics abilities and mathematical dispositions of students who received CORE learning models and conventional learning and to analyze the correlation between the connection abilities and students’ dispositions. This study uses the embedded type Mixed Method. The population was all eighth-grade students one of the public junior high schools in Pangalengan, Bandung Regency, and the sample involved as many as 74 students. The instruments used were a mathematical connection ability test, a disposition questionnaire, an observation sheet, and an interview guide. Analysis of data used two Independent Sample t-Test and Mann Whitney test. The results showed that: 1) the improvement of the connection ability of students who received CORE learning was better than students who received conventional learning 2) the disposition of students who received the CORE learning model was better than students who received conventional learning models, 3) there was no relationship between connection ability and disposition of students using the CORE learning model. The conclusion is CORE model is effective to improve students' mathematical connection ability and mathematical disposition.DOI : https://doi.org/10.22342/jpm.16.2.17079.187-202

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the installation of insert transformers in overcoming voltage drop problems in customers at the RTP 033 transformer of ULP Peureulak PT PLN (Persero). The research was conducted at transformer RTP 033 located in the Paya Uno area, Rantau Peureulak District, East Aceh, which experienced significant voltage drop problems. Through manual calculations using the formula in the RST phase, the voltage drop values were 22.99%, 20.63%, and 21.05% before the installation of the insert transformer. After the installation of the insert transformer, the voltage drop value was successfully reduced below the permitted standard of less than 5% with the voltage drop value for each phase being 2.18%, 2.63%, and 3.06%. The measurement results in the field show a significant increase in distribution voltage at points that previously experienced a decrease. In addition to improving voltage quality, the installation of the insert transformer also had a positive impact on increasing electrical energy consumption. There was an increase in kWh sales of 13.14% after the installation of the insert transformer. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the installation of an insert transformer is an effective solution to overcome the voltage drop problem in the distribution network. Thus, the quality of electricity service to customers can be improved, and the risk of damage to electronic equipment due to voltage fluctuations can be minimized.

Abstract

Electricity is an essential need in almost all human activities, making it a vital component of everyday life. However, in the process of distributing it to customers, there is often a difference between the energy delivered and the energy sold, known as energy loss or shrinkage. This shrinkage can be categorized into two types, namely technical and non-technical shrinkage. PT PLN (Persero) uses the Jogja formula to map and analyze these two types of shrinkage, allowing a percentage comparison between technical and non-technical shrinkage. The focus of this research is on efforts to overcome non-technical shrinkage, especially in Muara Tebo ULP. PT PLN (Persero) implements preventive measures, including public education on the efficient and safe use of electrical energy, as well as the routine implementation of the Electricity Usage Control (P2TL). The purpose of these measures is to reduce non-technical losses that occur in the use of electricity. The results of the P2TL implementation in ULP Muara Tebo showed an increase in average kWh generation from 193,193 kWh in the January to May period to 216,582 kWh in June. This increase contributed significantly to the reduction of total shrinkage by 2.51% in June. This research confirms that a structured enforcement and education strategy can effectively improve energy distribution efficiency and reduce non-technical losses, supporting the overall operations of PT PLN (Persero). Keywords: energy loss, non-technical loss, formula jogja, P2TL

Abstract

Renewable energy, particularly solar energy, plays a crucial role in addressing the limitations of fossil fuels and environmental sustainability issues, especially in tropical regions such as Indonesia. In addition to serving as an alternative energy source, Solar Power Generation Systems (SPGS/PLTS) also have potential as contextual learning media in vocational education. This study aims to analyze the efficiency of solar panels in a solar power generation system and examine their utilization as learning media for renewable energy education among students of the Renewable Energy Engineering Program at Akademi Komunitas Olat Maras (AKOM). This research employed a quantitative approach using descriptive methods and simple experiments. The research object was the solar power generation system and solar panels, while the research subjects were students involved in the learning activities. Data were collected through measurements of solar irradiance, input and output power, learning observations, and simple questionnaires. The results indicate that the solar panels achieved an operationally feasible efficiency level under tropical conditions. Furthermore, the use of the solar power system as a learning medium increased student engagement and improved their understanding of renewable energy concepts. This study concludes that solar power systems are effective as contextual and practical learning media in vocational education and have positive implications for the development of renewable energy learning and curriculum.
