Abstract

Menstruation is bleeding that repeats every month and indicates that the female reproductive organs are ready to be fertilized. In the menstrual cycle, changes in hormone levels will occur when a young woman will experience menstruation. This can affect changes in the physical and emotional conditions of adolescent girls before menstruation, which is commonly referred to as premenstrual syndrome (Ministry of Women and Children Empowerment of the Republic of Indonesia, 2015). The prevalence of premenstrual syndrome in Indonesia is 70-90% in women of childbearing age and it is found that 2-10% are experiencing severe symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (Sari and Priyanto, 2018). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between academic stress and body mass index (BMI) with premenstrual syndrome in 9th grade students of SMPN 1 SUMBERPUCUNG. This type of research is a correlation design that uses a cross sectional approach. A sample of 31 9th grade students were selected using a total sampling technique. In research using Spearman Rank data analysis, there is a relationship between academic stress and premenstrual syndrome which results in value < (0.002 < 0.05). Meanwhile, the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and premenstrual syndrome produces a value of value < (0.015 < 0.05). based on the results of this study, students should be able to manage and control their emotions so that stress does not occur and always maintain a pattern eat to stay at a normal BMI.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The availability of blood is highly dependent on the willingness and awareness of the community to donate their blood voluntarily and regularly. The main target of donor recruitment is to obtain the amount of blood according to needs, which is focused on low-risk voluntary blood donors. Thus, efforts need to be made to increase young blood donors by conducting regular socialization about the benefits of blood donation in high schools, including related materials about blood donation and the Red Cross in Palang Merah Remaja (PMR) activities. Through this community service, it is expected that a more effective blood service network will be formed between the community, health centers, health services, hospitals, and blood donor unit. The stages used in this community service are preparation, implementation, and evaluation. We conducted a health education through visual media and simulation for students and members of PMR at SMK 2 PGRI Malang. The results of community service indicate that there is an increase in students' understanding of donor selection requirements. The simulation of basic life support session for the PMR members of SMK 2 PGRI Malang, was conducted without any difficulty. Students were quite enthusiastic about participating in the basic life support simulation.

Abstract

The Indonesian Red Cross is responsible for the distribution of blood products to hospital blood banks. The daily blood distribution route will vary due to the fact that the number of blood requests and the number of hospital blood banks vary on a daily basis. The implementation of a cold chain system is one method of optimizing blood distribution and transportation activities. The objective of this investigation is to evaluate the temperature and quality of PRC components in relation to their delivery time and distance. This research method is quantitative-descriptive. The population of this study consisted of all blood that was donated to the hospital blood bank in Sidoarjo Regency between October and November 2022. The blood sample used in this study was collected from the UDD PMI Sidoarjo Regency. The sampling technique of accidental sampling would be employed to visually identify the quality of PRC and temperature. The results of this study indicated that 460 PRC bags were delivered to three hospital blood banks in the UDD PMI Sidoarjo Regency. The PRC did not experience lysis, and 50 bags (10.86%) of the 460 PRC bags experienced a temperature change of over 10 °C. Conclusion: The temperature of the dropped PRC components is influenced by the delivery time and distance. The SOP must be strictly adhered to by all officers who distribute and transport blood to guarantee that the quality of the blood remains in good condition.

Abstract

Abstract

Transmission of infectious diseases is one of the risks in the blood transfusion process. The Blood Donor Unit (UDD), as a blood provider institution, must ensure that blood products distributed in the community are safe, especially from infectious diseases that can be transmitted through blood transfusion (TTI). UDD PMI Surabaya is a first-class UDD and CPOB-certified facility that serves blood needs not only in East Java but also as a reference for the Eastern Indonesia region. The location of UDD is in a big city, the number of donors is quite large, the coverage of the area of origin of donors and the target users of blood products is quite broad, and a complete screening test method are interesting factors to study regarding the prevalence of TTI disease. This study aims to determine the prevalence of infectious diseases transmitted through blood transfusion among blood donors in UDD PMI Surabaya in 2018–2022, as well as the sociodemographic characteristics of reactive donors. This research is a retrospective, descriptive study. Data for 2018–2022 comes from the in UDD PMI Surabaya database with total number of 639580 blood donors. The research results show that hepatitis B is a TTI disease with the highest prevalence compared to other TTI diseases. Most donors come from the 17–30 year age group who have reactive TTI test results, and this decreases with increasing age except for hepatitis B. Reactive donors are more dominated by women than men, except for HIV disease.
