Abstract

Ibu kota Kabupaten Manggarai Barat berada di Labuan Bajo merupakan kota pariwisata yang telah ditetapkan oleh Pemerintah sebagai Destinasi Super Premium kelas Nasional dan Internasional sehingga mengundang  minat para wisatawan baik wisatawan Nusantara maupun Wisatawan mancanegara. Ada begitu banyak para wisatawan yang datang ke Labuan Bajo setiap tahunnya untuk menikmati pesona Alam, Flora, maupun Fauna yang ada dan lebih khusus melihat satu-satunya hewan purba yang ada di Dunia yaitu Komodo. Tidak dapat dipungkiri semakin maju sebuah kota semakin banyak pula masalah yang timbul, salah satu masalah terbesar yang ditemukan di Labuan Bajo ialah masalah sampah. Sampah-sampah di Labuan Bajo setiap yang setiap tahunya menigkat tentu saja membawah kekhawatiran bagi semua pihak, apalagi mengingat Labuan Bajo sebagai Kota Pariwisata Super Premium. Sejauh ini penanganan sampah yang dilakukan pemerintah masih berupa penanganan sampah pada umumnya, seperti megumpulkan di TPA (Tempat Pembuangan Akhir) lalu membakar sedikit demi sedikit. Tapi perlu diingat bahwa pembakaran sampah yang terus dilakukan akan menimbulkan masalah baru yaitu Global warming serta Polusi Udara yang tidak baik baik bagi kesehatan pernapasan manusia.  Maka dari itu diperlukan penanganan masalah sampah yang efisien dan efektif, yaitu salah satunya dengan pemberdayaan sampah-sampah anorganik menjadi bahan bakar yang dapat digunakan oleh nelayan di Labuan bajo. Melalui Pemberdayaan sampah Anorganik ini dapat menjadi salah satu solusi dalam mengatasi masalah sampah yang terjadi di Labuan Bajo, selain itu pemberdayaan sampah anorganik menjadi bahan bakar dapat digunakan oleh nelayan serta menghasilkan nilai ekonomis yang dapat memberikan dapat positif terhadap perekonomian. Abstract

This study investigated the influence of financial literacy and business capital on the sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Denpasar, Indonesia, considering financial inclusion as a moderating variable. MSMEs in Indonesia contribute significantly to economic growth but often face sustainability challenges due to limited financial knowledge and capital access. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 100 MSME operators in Denpasar via a structured questionnaire. The study employed Partial Least Squares (PLS) for data analysis, with descriptive statistics to provide insights into demographic characteristics and variable distributions. Results revealed that business capital had a significant and positive impact on MSME sustainability, while financial literacy showed no substantial direct effect. Additionally, financial inclusion did not significantly moderate the relationship between financial literacy, business capital, and sustainability outcomes. This finding suggested that MSMEs require more tailored financial products and advisory services to meet their specific operational needs rather than broad access to financial services alone. The study’s results offer insights for policymakers and financial institutions, emphasizing the importance of customized financial support to foster MSME sustainability in a competitive environment.

Abstract

The study explored the impact of beauty influencer credibility on purchase intention, focusing on how influencer effectiveness mediated this relationship. With the rise of social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube, beauty influencers have become key players in shaping consumer behavior, particularly in the competitive beauty industry where local brands like Somethinc compete with global brands. The research analyzed responses from 100 female teenagers aged 15-24 in Bali using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis. The results showed that beauty influencer credibility had a direct and positive effect on influencer effectiveness, with trust and expertise being critical factors. Influencer effectiveness significantly increased purchase intention, as consumers were more likely to make purchasing decisions when influencers communicated persuasively. Credibility also directly influenced purchase intention, but its effect was strengthened when mediated by influencer effectiveness. The findings highlighted that credibility alone was not sufficient; influencers needed to effectively engage their audience to maximize their impact. The study provided valuable insights for beauty brands, suggesting that selecting credible and effective influencers is crucial for successful digital marketing. It also opened avenues for future research into additional factors such as brand loyalty and price, and the potential for cross-cultural and longitudinal studies.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the online gaming industry has led to the rise of microtransactions, which have become a core component of the gaming experience. Valve Corporation, a prominent player in this industry, implemented a widely recognized microtransaction model through its platform. This study explored the factors influencing gamers in Bali to engage in microtransaction activities offered by Valve Corporation. Specifically, it investigated the effects of functional quality and price utility on purchase interest, with enjoyment serving as a mediating factor. The research targeted gamers in Bali who had previously engaged in microtransactions, employing an Accidental Sampling technique to collect data from 112 respondents. The analysis utilized Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to test the hypotheses. The findings revealed that functional quality and price utility both had significant positive effects on enjoyment and purchase interest. Furthermore, enjoyment not only directly influenced purchase interest but also mediated the effects of functional quality and price utility on purchase interest. These results highlight the critical role of enjoyment in shaping gamers’ decisions to participate in microtransactions, offering valuable insights for companies aiming to optimize their gaming platforms.

Abstract

Penelitian Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai alat strategis dalam pemasaran bagi PT Bina Sarana Cipta, perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang layanan Wood Packing Service di Kota Denpasar. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi lapangan, wawancara tatap muka, dan pelatihan praktis langsung kepada staf perusahaan. Hasil dari pengabdian ini mencakup pengembangan panduan praktis tentang teknik pengambilan konten untuk media sosial dan strategi penggunaan platform media sosial. Evaluasi dilakukan untuk memeriksa implementasi panduan dan kinerja media sosial perusahaan, dengan fokus pada engagement dan respons dari audiens. Hasil evaluasi mengindikasikan peningkatan signifikan dalam kualitas konten dan interaksi media sosial. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial yang terstruktur dan didukung dengan pendampingan aktif dapat memberikan manfaat besar dalam meningkatkan visibilitas dan pemasaran produk PT Bina Sarana Cipta di era digital ini.

Abstract

The aims of the study were 1) to classify the code switching which produced by English Lecturers in teaching English as foreign language in Poltek OTC, 2) to identify types of code switching that were mostly used by the lecturers in teaching English as foreign language in Poltek OTC, 3) to describe the functions of code switching that were produced by the lecturers, 4) to describe the students’ attitude toward the use of code switching in teaching English as foreign language in Poltek OTC. This was qualitative research and the subject of the research were the students and English lecturers in Poltek OTC in academic year 2024/2025. In this study, the data were collected and analyzed by using Interactive Flows of Activities Model adapted from Miles Huberman (1984) The findings showed that the classification of the code switching used by the lecturers were tag, inter-sentential, and intra-sentential code switching. The most type of code switching produced by the lecturers was intra-sentential code switching (42%), followed by tag code switching (38%), and the last was inter-sentential code switching (20%). Regarding to the functions of the code switching, it was found that there were 8 functions, they were regulatory, emphasis, attention, clarification, sociolinguistic play, instruction, reminding, and motivating. The students’ attitude toward the use of code switching was generally positive. Based on the functions of code switching as dimensions in measuring students’ attitude, it was found that the most positive responses given by the students was sociolinguistic play. From 90 students, 86% of the students gave positive responses towards this function, followed by clarification (84%), emphasis (81%), attention (77%), instruction (75%), lexicalization (74%), and the last was regulatory (73%). From the finding above, it could be summed up that the used of code switching by English lecturers in teaching English as a foreign language in Omna Trisakti Chandra Polytechnic was responded positively by the students.

Abstract

AbstractThe Effect of Self-Assessment and goal Motivation through Writing Competency in English. The purpose of this study is proving application of self-assessment in terms of student achievement motivation to give influence to the competence of writing in English students. This research was an experimental research using 2 x 2 proportional conception. Forced population of 160 students majoring in communication studies, Faculty of Social and Politics Studies, University Undiknas academic year 2016/2017. By using Cluster Random Sampling method, 4 classes were selected as sample and divided into two groups, namely experimental group and control group. The data of this study were collected through questionnaires and tests, which were analyzed using the Two Path Anova and Tukey test statistics. The results showed, firstly, the influence of self- assessment on student writing skill, ie students who assess by using self-assessment have higher writing skills than those who use using conventional assessment. Secondly, there was a significant interaction effect between self-assessment and achievement motivation on writing skill in English.Keywords: self-assessment, achievement motivation, english writing competency

Abstract

This study entitled Improving Students’ Reading Comprehension in Narrative Text by using Anticipation Guides for Students of Communication Study Program of Unidknas University year 2017/2018. This study uses to analyze the four major skills to be mastered by the learners, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The standard competency is the general competency that should be mastered by the school graduates. The basic competency is the minimum competency that should be mastered by the students in learning a certain subject. One standard competency consists of several basic competencies. To know whether the students have achieved the basic competency, the teacher needs to refer to some indicator. One basic competency can be developed into some indicators. The subject of this study is the 40 students of Communication Study Program in Undiknas University in academic year 2017/2018. The research design of this study was action research based on Kemmis and Mc Taggart (1988) design. Richards and Plat & Plat (1999) as cited by Adnyani (2001) defined action research as a teacher initiated classroom research that seeks to increase the teacher’s understanding of classroom teaching and learning and to bring about improvements in classroom practices. The result of this study shows that there were two types of data obtained during the research namely, quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data was shown from the score obtained by the students in the pretest; post test I and post test II. Those data were shown in the form of tables and diagram and they were interpreted descriptively. The qualitative data were obtained from both the analysis of the diary in every session of the two cycles and also from the questionnaire which was applied to the students.Keywords: Reading Comprehension, Narrative text, Communication Study Program
