Abstract

Studies related to mindfulness deep breathing up to this point have been focused on individual and group contexts. Therefore, this study aimed to prove that mindfulness deep breathing in classical format is effective to increase students? academic engagement. This study used multiple pretest posttest research design. Meanwhile, the subjects were students of X IPA 1 and IPA 3 classes in SMA Kesatrian 2 Semarang. To collect the data, this study used Student Engagement Instrument (SEI) which focused on affective and cognitive aspects. The results of repeated measure test proved that mindfulness deep breathing in classical format was effective to increase students? academic engagement (F(1.72) = 315.05; p < 0.001). In addition, within subject test showed an increase in pre-test (M = 176.76; SD = 8,81), post-test (M = 113.76; SD = 8.57), and follow-up (M = 120.79; SD = 6.169). In brief, the mindfulness deep breathing implemented in the classroom effectively increased students? academic engagement.

Abstract

The study of positive psychology is currently an interesting part of efforts to form students who are active and happy in the learning process with meaningful activities. Mindfulness deep breathing in the learning process is not widely studied, because research is still limited to individual and group contexts. Thus, this research focuses on the application of classical mindfulness deep breathing format which is effective in improving students' academic well-being. The design used was multiple pretest post test with the research subjects being class X high school students. Data collection uses the Student Subjective Wellbeing Questionnaire (SSWQ). The results of the repeated measure test prove that the classical format mindfulness deep breathing is effective in improving students' academic well-being (f (1,72) = 272,80; p <0,001). The findings in this study show the effectiveness of the mindfulness deep breathing technique implemented in a classical format in improving students' academic well-being.

Abstract

The suicide rate among adolescents and young adults has risen to the position of the second greatest cause of mortality. Research on the influence of social media on the suicide risk or reduction of risk among young people is a relatively new and rapidly increasing field of study that requires the attention of a wide variety of specialists working in the field of mental health services. This research aims to describe the condition of self-harm based on the age of individuals who use the Instagram platform. This research is comparative research obtained through purposive random sampling. The sample for this research was 288 respondents consisting of various ages. Data were collected using a self-harm instrument with 18 items in a four-point response format. The analysis technique uses an item response theory (IRT) approach with Rasch Model analysis. This research tested descriptive and differences using Anova with the help of WINSTEPS Version 5.0.0. The results show that there is a significant difference between self-harm among Instagram users based on age. In addition, Instagram users aged 18–20 in late teenage development fill out the self-harm instrument more than other age groups. Instagram users had low self-harm rates, according to the study. This study recommends that policymakers and scholars should monitor social media mental health trends.

Abstract

The socialization of the Three Big Sins in education at SMP IT La Royba, Serang City is an initiative strategy aimed at strengthening the profile of Pancasila Students. This program focuses on preventing three main negative behaviors: bullying, violence, and drug propaganda, which are considered major sins in the world of education. Through this socialization, students are invited to understand the negative impacts of these three behaviors and the importance of avoiding them, with a practical emphasis on applying Pancasila values ​​such as mutual cooperation, integrity and morality in everyday life. The program involves various stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and the community, to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive approach. Socialization activities are carried out through various methods, such as seminars, group discussions and interactive activities, to ensure key messages can be received and well understood by students. The expected results of this program are the creation of a school environment that is safer, more comfortable and conducive to the learning process, as well as the formation of student characters who are more noble, disciplined and responsible. Thus, it is hoped that this socialization can support the development of a young generation of high quality and integrity, in accordance with the national education vision. This program will not only impact students, but also the entire school ecosystem, which will ultimately contribute to the creation of a better and more moral society. This entire initiative is an important step in strengthening the foundation of character education based on Pancasila values ​​in Indonesia

Abstract

Self-efficacy presents high confidence in achieving goals, including those who are pregnant. On the other hand, there is a food taboo phenomenon that is believed by people across generations in various regions including on the coast amidst the acceleration of information. This phenomenon is by carrying out food taboos that are believed to affect health. On the other hand, these taboos risk a person lacking nutritious food. Where other risks are the health of the fetus and child in the future and the risk of stunting. This manuscript will contain the main findings about the perspective of food taboo and the dynamics of their self-efficacy while continuing the legacy of food taboo from the previous generation. This study uses a qualitative approach, as many as 12 mothers on the coast were selected as respondents purposively to explore their food taboo perspective, with guidelines for food taboo and self-efficacy interviews. The analysis was carried out by coding through Nvivo, to then produce the main theme. The themes as findings in this study are related to 1) Effort Towards Goal with sub-sequence (Curiosity about health literacy, Focus on pregnancy, Food taboo is a problem, Taboos Are Just Myths), 2) Lack of Self-Efficay with sub-sequence (Belief in food taboos, Lack of literacy), 3) Social Persuasion with sub-sequence (cross-generational influences, individual beliefs).
