Abstract

 Abstract: Community empowerment activities are one way to overcome the problems that exist in the community by instilling a culture of information literacy through the use of the regional library and Darul Hikmah Reading House. This study aims to find out the programs that are held by Darul Hikmah Regional Library and Reading House (RBDH in Tanah Datar District) by providing various services that can be utilized by the community. This research method uses a qualitative approach to the type of case study research. Research data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews and through literature studies. Research findings in the form of community empowerment programs such as group discussion activities, workshops, training, competitions, exhibitions and storytelling.Provision of reading material for the regional library management and RBDH related to the collection based on the needs of the surrounding community. Communities can use the library together to increase knowledge and enrich treasures.Keywords: Community Empowerment, Community Reading Gardens Cultural Information Literacy, Reading.Abstrak: Kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat merupakan salah satu cara mengatasi permasalahan yang ada dalam masyarakat dengan menanamkan budaya literasi informasi melalui pemanfaatan perpustakaan daerah dan Rumah Baca Darul Hikmah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui program-program yang diselenggarakan perpustakaan daerah dan Rumah Baca Darul Hikmah (RBDH) di Kabupaten Tanah Datar dengan menyediakan berbagai layanan yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui observasi lapangan, interview mendalam serta melalui studi kepustakaan. Penemuan berupa program pemberdayaan masyarakat menjadi temuan yang dituangkan dalam kegiatan diskusi kelompok, workshop, pelatihan, perlombaan, pameran dan mendongeng. Penyediaan bahan bacaan pihak pengelola perpustakaan daerah dan RBDH berkaitan dengan koleksi berdasarkan kebutuhan masyarakat sekitarnya. Masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan perpustakaan secara bersama-sama untuk menambah ilmu pengetahuan dan memperkaya khasanah.Kata Kunci: Pemberdayaan masyarakat, budaya literasi, taman bacaan masyarakat, membaca.

Abstract

The implementation of educational supervision to enhance the teacher professionalism at MAS Thawalib Tanjung Limau, Tanah Datar Regency becomes  the main focus of this study. This study is a part of descriptive qualitative research. The head of the MAS, however, is the main source of research data. Observations and interviews are used as data collection techniques. The supervision provided by the head of MAS Thawalib Tanjung Limau plays a significant role as the effort to increase the quality of teachers. For increasing resource capacity and revamping materials to meet national education goals, strategies such as instructional supervision are helpful. The preparation stage, class observation, and assessment or feedback discussion are the three stages that make up this clinical supervision. Limited infrastructure and resources, lack of teacher discipline, and lack of teacher knowledge about efficient classroom management techniques are challenges experienced in the clinical supervision and teaching. This study shows that the principal's educational supervision places a vital position to support appropriate infrastructure and facilities of schools, maximize the teacher disciplinary action, and offer proper direction, and advice on efficient classroom management procedures.
