Abstract

Background: Development of science and technology led to people having birth defects (congenital), trauma or because of there sected tumor can be made of a prosthesis. Purpose: To learn the technique of making obturator with magnet attachment. Review: Assembly of magnet in obturator can improve the stability and retention of the prosthesis. Conclusion: The techniques of making obturator with magnetic attachment begins with making the double impression. The part defect is waxed on a master cast, and the contoured wax lid was fabricated on the master cast to close the hollow obturator. The lid along with the magnetic assembly was attached to the obturator with auto polymerizing resin. Obturator is inserted in the patient and created a master cast for the fabrication of denture. Wax of master cast of denture is assembled magnet for attachment to the obturator, then flasking, wax boil-out of master cast, acrylic processing, deflasking, finishing, and polishing.

Abstract

Background: Certain cases such as anterior cross bites require a different aesthetic removable denture technique from the conventional removable denture. Purpose: To provide an overview of a case about the technique of making aesthetic acrylic resin removable partial dentures for anterior tooth replacement in cases of anterior cross bite. Case analysis: The study examined the working model with maxillary and mandibular anterior cross bite cases. Result: The arrangement of artificial teeth was carried out as ideally as possible, so that it became harmonious. In this case, the incisal artificial teeth 11, 12, 21 were brought forward labially, so that an edge-to-edge position was formed with the opposing teeth. The clasp made was a half jackson which was placed on teeth 15 and 25, so that when the patient smiles the clasp is not visible to fulfill the aesthetic requirements. Conclusion: The technique of making aesthetic removable partial dentures in cases of anterior cross bite that has received more attention is the arrangement of the dental elements because it is different from the normal tooth arrangement. The artificial teeth were arranged in edge-to-edge bite position in order to obtain a harmonious occlusion while taking into account of the labial arch of the adjacent tooth as well as occlusion with the opposing tooth.

Abstract

Background: Premature loss for deciduous teeth is defined as the teeth that fall out before approaching the time of eruption of their replacement permanent teeth regardless of the reason for the loss of the teeth. The premature loss of deciduous teeth can cause the teeth next to the edentulous area to shift and lose arch space causing permanent teeth to grow abnormally. Prevention can be done by using Mayne's space maintainer so that the negative impact of premature loss does not occur. Purpose: Report the fabrication of Mayne's space maintainer in premature loss case. Case analysis: The laboratory accepted a working model with a case of premature loss in tooth 74 and was asked to make the Mayne's space maintainer. Result: This appliance consists of a molar band attached to tooth 75 with a 0.9 mm loop that is soldered on the buccal of the molar band. Conclusion: It is concluded that fabrication of Mayne's space maintainer in the case of premature loss of tooth 74 includes the preparation of a working model, adjustment of the molar band on tooth 75, making the loop, followed by soldering the loop to the molar band, finally the finishing and polishing.

Abstract

Background: Aesthetic and functional dental restoration is a hope for people who have lost teeth, especially in the anterior region. Missing tooth 13 with more than 2 mm gingival recession can be made into a cantilever bridge restoration with the addition of porcelain gingiva. Gingival recession is when the tooth root surface is exposed due to periodontal tissue loss. Zirconia is a dental restoration material often used because of its biocompatibility, strength, and aesthetics. Purpose: To determine the procedure for making all porcelain cantilever bridge restorations in cases of gingival recession using zirconia material. Case analysis: The dental laboratory received a dental cast model of a 39-year-old female patient missing tooth 13 and had gingival recession on tooth 14 of more than 2 mm. Order in the form of restoration of all porcelain cantilever bridges from zirconia. Result: The cantilever bridge coping was made from zirconium dioxide and then layered with feldspathic porcelain to achieve optimal strength and aesthetics. A rest is made on tooth 12 to provide additional retention. Conclusion: The procedure for making all porcelain cantilever bridge restorations includes making diagnostic wax-up, scanning, coping design, milling, sintering, fitting, sandblasting, layering, anatomy, and glazing. Things that must be considered are the design, thickness of the coping, and connectors to achieve a restoration that is strong, resistant to fracture, and has good aesthetics. Porcelain gingiva was added in the cervical area of tooth 14 restorations to cover the recession
