Abstract

Data and facts from the media show that the problem of children who conflict with the law is still a daily consumption. This phenomenon of child problems requires serious attention and handling from various parties. The impact of the behavior of children in conflict with the law is not only on the victim but also on the perpetrator himself, the family, and society in general. This article is directed to answer the question of how the risk, protector, and implications for child prevention efforts conflict with the law. This study is based on the study of literature from the perspective of social construction which views that conflict with the law as the reality of the interaction of the individual child and his environment. Social construction recognizes that psychological and sociological aspects work together in combination and this helps create and shape individual realities. The everyday reality experienced by the individual is a reality that affects the response of his/her attitudes and behavior. Individual behavior is a picture of the behavior of people who interact with them. Children generally grow up in four contexts where they interact with others for a long time, namely family, school, peers, and community environments. The four environmental contexts are not only risk factors but become protective factors for the occurrence of child behavior in conflict with the law. References to this paper are sourced from books, journals, and other reliable sources and have an element of novelty both from within Indonesia and from abroad. This paper is intended to be a concern and awareness for various parties so that finally the prevention efforts carried out have the maximum impact and cases of children who conflict with the law are not repeated.

Abstract

Child sexual abuse (CSA) in Indonesia is a critical issue shaped by the dynamics of power abuse. This study examines how perpetrators, often trusted figures such as family members, educators, or community leaders, exploit their authority to commit sexual abuse against children. Using a multiple case study approach, the research analyzes 15 cases from various regions in Indonesia. The findings reveal that CSA frequently involves the manipulation of power through threats, inducements, and the exploitation of cultural or religious norms. Contributing factors such as patriarchal norms, social stigma, and institutional weaknesses exacerbate the vulnerability of victims and hinder their access to justice. Framed within Michel Foucault’s theory, the power dynamics in these cases encompass hierarchies, normalization of violence, and discursive control. Perpetrators leverage their authority to instill fear and silence victims, while gaps in legal systems and patriarchal cultural values reinforce impunity. The long-term impact on victims includes psychological trauma, social stigma, and diminished quality of life. The study recommends strengthening child protection systems through public awareness campaigns, responsive reporting mechanisms, psychosocial support, and stricter oversight of educational and religious institutions to prevent and address CSA holistically.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the patterns of topic and field selection in undergraduate social work students’ theses in Indonesia. Using descriptive method, a total of 262 thesis titles from the 2024/2025 academic year were categorized into 14 specialized study fields. Additionally, qualitative data were gathered from 61 students via questionnaires to explore their reasons for topic selection, suggestions on subject-specific courses, and experiences in thesis supervision. The findings reveal that child-related social work is the most preferred field (41.4%), followed by poverty, aging, disability, and education. Key factors influencing topic choice include personal interest, practical experience, ease of data access, and social relevance. However, topic repetition and limited exploration of novel research ideas are still common. These findings highlight the need for curriculum review, improved field placement systems, and more contextual supervision strategies to support the diversification and originality of student research. This study offers practical input for curriculum development, thesis supervision planning, and the formulation of a research roadmap aligned with contemporary social issues.

Abstract

Sexual violence is a serious problem that is worldwide, threatens human rights, and has very damaging impacts, one of which is causing post-traumatic stress disorder. This research aims to obtain an empirical picture and conduct an analysis of the effect of implementing systematic desensitization and generalization of operant stimulus techniques in reducing post-traumatic stress disorder. The processes in the systematic desensitization and generalization of operant stimulus technique are designed to help individuals or children reduce the post-traumatic fear they have experienced, involving the surrounding environment in the process of reducing the hierarchy of fears experienced by the individual. The research subjects were beneficiaries at Sentra Phalamatha Sukabumi, namely three teenagers aged 14-16 years who had problems with sexual violence and post-traumatic stress disorder. The post-traumatic stress disorder that is targeted are aspects of re-experiencing (looking away), avoidance (behavior of asking the instructor during skills activities), hyperarousal (behavior of teasing friends when doing skills activities) and social (behavior of carrying out instructions from the skills instructor). The research was conducted using a quantitative approach, single subject design method with multiple baseline cross subject A-B-A design. Data collection techniques use observation techniques, giving questionnaires, interviews and documentation studies. Test the validity of the questionnaire using face validity to the supervisor while recording events by calculating the percent agreement. Measurements were carried out on target behavior with the assumption that there would be a reduction in post-traumatic stress disorder experienced by child victims of sexual violence and through questionnaires given to three research subjects by comparing the questionnaire answer scores before and after the intervention to determine the level of post-traumatic stress disorder experienced. by child victims of sexual violence. The research results showed that the systematic desensitization and generalization of operant stimulus technique had an effect on reducing target behavior, thus indicating a decrease in post-traumatic stress disorder in the three research subjects. This is shown through the trend in the direction of the graph and the results of data analysis both within conditions and between conditions from observation data on target behavior as well as an increase in quantitative values or questionnaire answer scores between before and after the intervention of the three research subjects KEYWORDS: Systematic Desensitization and Generalization of Operant Stimulus Technique, Child Victims of Sexual Violence, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Single Subject Design
