Abstract

Nahwu is one of the subjects of the Arabic language that is taught in schools under the auspices of Islamic institutes. The teacher used the book “Mutammimah Al-Ajrūmiyah” using the traditional methods at the Dar Al-Ihsan Institute, Aceh Besar. The researchers noticed that the teacher's teaching process did not consider the students' conditions, as they did not cooperate in the learning process, so the process of teaching and learning became boring for them. This condition affects their lack of understanding of the lesson. Therefore, this study aims to apply the cooperative learning method with the Jiqsaw method to improve the students' ability to understand the rules of grammar and identify the students' responses in the learning process and the teacher's efforts to overcome the problems that occur during the learning process. This research was conducted using the action research method in the classroom, and the research tools used were tests, questionnaires and observations. The research participants of this study are all students of the Dar Al Ihsan Institute, which numbered 518 students, while the sample taken is the fourth-grade students, numbering 27 students. As for the results of this research, the students' average score is 89.44, which indicates the effectiveness of this method in improving the students' ability to understand grammatical rules. The teacher overcomes the problem by discussing and using concept maps to make it easier for students to understand the lessons when learning and provide learning motivation so that they are happy when learning the language. Students' responses in the learning process are greatly improved.

Abstract

Curriculum organization is a crucial aspect in developing a curriculum to achieve optimal educational goals. One model of curriculum organization that can be applied is the correlated curriculum or correlated learning. This study aims to explore the application of correlated curriculum in formal education in Indonesia. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Participants in this study include teachers, school principals, curriculum developers, and education department representatives from several high schools that implement correlated curriculum. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, using data source triangulation to ensure data validity. Correlated curriculum is an approach to curriculum development where various subjects are interconnected and support one another. This concept aims to show the relationship between various fields of study and integrate knowledge from various subjects so that students can see the connections and relevance between subjects. Although there has been no specific and comprehensive implementation of correlated curriculum in Indonesia, there are efforts that reflect a tendency to link various subjects in the curriculum and learning process, such as thematic integrated approaches in elementary schools and cross-subject learning materials in lesson plans and curriculum frameworks.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of constructivist theory in the 2013 curriculum for Arabic learning in Indonesia. The study focuses on understanding how constructivist principles are activated, such as student-centered learning, the active role of students in constructing knowledge, meaningful learning, collaborative learning, contextual learning, problem-based learning, authentic assessment, and the use of technology. These principles are applied in the context of Arabic language teaching with the goal of improving students' understanding and communicative skills. The researchers employed a qualitative research method with a library research approach to analyze documents related to the 2013 curriculum and constructivist theory. The results showed that the 2013 curriculum supports a constructivist learning environment through activities such as observation and exploration, experiments and discovery, collaborative projects, formative assessment, and the use of technology as a learning tool. However, there is a gap between the theory and actual practice, as some teachers tend to use traditional teacher-centered methods. The study recommends addressing this gap by training teachers and raising their awareness of the importance of applying constructivist principles in education. These recommendations reflect the importance of adhering to the philosophical foundation of constructivist theory to achieve Arabic learning that enables students to actively and meaningfully construct their knowledge and skills.
