Abstract

Abstract

One part of the academic information system at Universal University is a learning management system (LMS) that is used to support learning activities, so this system must be designed to be able to provide convenience for students as the main users. There are intrinsic motivational behaviors that need to be identified as consideration of factors that might have an impact on students' perceptions in their intentions to use a system. The Hedonic-motivation system (HMS) theory emphasized that in order to increase one's intention to use information systems, then the pleasure factor needs to be included along with the usability factor and the ease of use factor. The four HMS variables used in the measurement are ease of use, usability, enjoyment, and intention to use. The measurement results will be obtained dominant influential factors that can be used as a basic guideline in designing system interactions in the form of conceptual designs for the development of LMS at Universal University.

Abstract

Problems in the Indonesian education system have raised serious concerns over the low quality of education. One of the problems that causes low interest in learning is the lack of interest in the learning media used. Therefore, it is important for schools to create learning conditions that are comfortable, interesting, and provide opportunities for students to participate actively. One solution that can be used is the use of computer-based learning media, such as Augmented Reality (AR), which can increase students' interest in learning. In the context of learning Natural Sciences, understanding the anatomy of the human body is an important aspect. The purpose of this research is to develop an Augmented Reality (AR) application using the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) method as a learning medium or introduction to the human skeletal system. This application will be equipped with theoretical materials and 3D-based object views that include the names of related bones. With the development of this application, it is expected to create an interesting and interactive learning experience, increase the effectiveness of the learning process, and avoid boredom for students.

Abstract

Changes in information and communication technology have encouraged the formation of an information society. One of the strategic elements for business organizations is processing data quickly and accurately for decision making. Therefore we need a computer-based decision support system that can support the company's decision-making process quickly and accurately. Currently, Glints Talenthub Batam still uses manual methods for decision making in determining the target market, so it takes a long time and results are less accurate. Based on this, the authors try to develop a computer-based decision support system with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to assist the decision-making process in determining the target market at Glints Talenthub Batam. The results of this study are useful for getting a faster and more accurate decision on which target market to take at Glints Talenthub Batam. In this case, the best target market decision to make is Canada and the United States (San Francisco) ranking first with a final score of 18.68, followed by the United Kingdom in the next rank with a final score of 18.35.

Abstract

Unpredictable fluctuations in patient visits often lead to resource unpreparedness and decreased service quality in hospitals. This study aims to develop an early warning system for patient surges across 110 healthcare service units. Unlike conventional approaches utilizing static thresholds, this study proposes a Statistical Anomaly Detection method based on Z-Score for dynamic labeling and applies Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) to address extreme data imbalance. Three classification algorithms—Gradient Boosting Classifier (GBC), Random Forest (RF), and Support Vector Machine (SVM)—were compared using time-series lag features and volatility trends. Experimental results demonstrate that Gradient Boosting outperformed other methods, achieving the highest F1-Score of 37.35% and a Recall of 48.98%. Although the F1-Score reflects the extreme nature of the data imbalance, achieving high recall is explicitly prioritized in healthcare operations to minimize the critical risk of missed surge events. This study concludes that integrating statistical anomaly-based labeling with ensemble boosting algorithms effectively mitigates noise in heterogeneous hospital visit data, thereby serving as a reliable basis for proactive managerial decision-making.

Abstract

Public knowledge regarding the time limit for drug usage is still limited, despite existing educational efforts. Many people rely solely on the Expiration Date (ED) stated on the primary packaging, which indicates the post-production shelf life. However, once the packaging is opened, the usage limit no longer refers to the ED, but instead to the Beyond Use Date (BUD), which depends on the drug type, time, form, aroma, and color. The application of a Rule-Based Expert System, through a series of IF-THEN rules and machine learning. Three methods were used: decision tree (DT), Gaussian Naive Bayes (GBN), and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). The results showed that the decision tree method (95%), the GBN method (94%), and the KNN method (81%) can assist in monitoring drug use limits, minimizing losses, and enhancing user awareness and compliance to prevent medication errors.
