Abstract

The decline of Islam starting in the 13th century due to various complex problems. When the dialectical pendulum of civilization points back to Islam as a cultural form which is the antithesis of the West, then the real opportunity for Islam to rise is very large. In this case, Islam in the Archipelago with a series of patterns and models can be considered for further photographing the map of the revival of Islamic civilization in Indonesia. Considering today's era of informatics, a culture that is accommodative, flexible, and able to adapt to the rapidly rotating historical movement is needed. The nature of Islam Nusantara has a tendency to be moderate, tolerant and open. It is very different from the character of Arab and Middle Eastern Islam, which today are experiencing internal divisions. The main focus of the first article, tries to elaborate further on Multiculturalism Islamic Education as the capital of civilization. Three important elements in educational institutions that can be done to convey the mission of Multicultural Islamic Education. The paradigmatic view of educational institution managers in developing multicultural education in schools/madrasahs, curriculum structures and educational activities that offer multicultural values to students, and school/madrasah cultures that support multiculturalism values. Second, Sufism as the root of moderation shows the historical facts of Islam that can be accepted by all levels of society so that it then forms the character of the Islamic Archipelago which is moderate and diverse in culture. Third, moderate Islam as the foundation of social cohesion tries to reflect and reinterpret Gus Dur's ideas to build a harmonious relationship by developing the concept of contextual fiqh. Where by practicing the norms of fiqh as a whole and contextually based on ability, besides fiqh will develop, it will also be able to build social cohesion for the sake of the progress of Indonesian civilization.

Abstract

The significance of using an integrated approach to science and religion in Islamic Religious Education instruction in shaping and developing students’ character serves as the driving force behind this research. The author employed case study methodology along with qualitative research in this work. The investigation’s findings demonstrated how Islamic Religious Education is putting science and religion into practice through internal and external integrative methods of learning. Memorisation of brief letters, reading aloud from the Qur’an, memorising and reciting Asmaul Husna, daily prayers, tadarrus (reading the holy book together), and literacy exercises are all examples of internal integration that help pupils develop their character. While kids character is developed via everyday routines and activities, science and religion are externally integrated.

Abstract

This paper presents the results of a community service project implemented in Babadan, a rural community, using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology to foster sustainable development across multiple domains: education, economic empowerment, and environmental sustainability. The project engaged community members in every stage, from problem identification to action implementation and evaluation, ensuring that solutions were context-specific and locally owned. The educational initiatives led to a 75% improvement in literacy rates and a 20% increase in school enrollment, particularly among marginalized groups. Economic empowerment efforts resulted in the creation of over 30 small businesses, with a 15% increase in household income. Environmental sustainability was achieved through the adoption of sustainable farming practices and the establishment of rainwater harvesting systems, contributing to reduced environmental degradation and improved agricultural productivity. Although the project demonstrated significant success, challenges remain in scaling businesses and ensuring long-term market access. The paper concludes with recommendations to further strengthen market linkages, financial literacy, and local leadership, while ensuring continued community engagement and external partnerships for long-term sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of transformational leadership of village religious leaders (Kiai Kampung) in developing non-formal education and improving the community's quality of life. The research was conducted in Sumberrejo Village, Paiton District, Probolinggo Regency, East Java Province, focusing on five kiai who are prominent figures in the village. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The study's results indicate that the transformational leadership applied by the Kiai Kampung in Sumberrejo Village is a driving force to achieve organizational goals and enhance the community's quality of life. The kiai utilizes four key characteristics of transformational leadership: (1) Idealized Influence/Charisma, (2) Intellectual Stimulation, (3) Individualized Consideration, and (4) Inspirational Motivation. Their leadership directs the development of community knowledge, with the kiai playing an active role in motivating, guiding, and inspiring individuals to achieve shared goals and visions. Direct involvement and close interaction between the kiai and the community significantly support achieving these goals. Through leadership based on close social interactions and continuous development, the quality of life in Sumberrejo Village, particularly in education and social empowerment, has experienced significant improvement. This study demonstrates that kiai kampung leadership can be a key factor in community empowerment at the local level.
