Abstract

Not many young people actively participate in or take part directly in political contestation and become part of the success of winning the contest. In this paper, it reveals the strategies of the youth to win political contestation and become a member of the DPRD of Medan City for the period 20142019, within the scope of a democratic system and succeeded in becoming one of the elected parts to represent the community in the regional legislature. The purpose of this paper is to encourage more democratic political development in increasing the participation of young groups in developing their regions. The methodology used in this paper is a qualitative approach that produces descriptive data.

Abstract

This research, explained and analyzed the collaboration model of eruption of Mount Sinabung eruption in a disaster political perspective. Located in Karo District, North Sumatra Province in the last 6 years from 2010-2016 regularly experienced eruptions. There are still countermeasures problems considering there are still obstacles faced by (stakeholders). The formulation of this research is how the cooperation and coordination of stakeholders in the eruption prevention of Mount Sinabung. What is the policy of disaster disasters in North Sumatra that has not succeeded in completing the eruption of Mount Sinabung. The theoretical framework of this study using the concept of cooperation, good governance in disaster management, coordination and disaster management concepts then to analyze researchers has mapped the role of different stakeholders such as the central government, local government, employers, NGOs and the community. This research is a qualitative research with a critical paradigm to explain phenomena and find new models by placing an interview as primary data and books, international journals and national journals. The results of this study indicate that the collaborative model of Sinabung eruption cooperation is coordinating Mount Sinabung stakeholders, eruption disaster management, disaster management policy constraints in North Sumatra that have not succeeded in completing the Sinabung eruption, disaster management policy recommendations for the Mount Sinabung eruption. At the end of the results of this study, the scheme of the model for collaborative disaster management and also explaining the importance of Sinabung became a national disaster

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of political figures on the victory of the Golongan Karya (Golkar) Party in the 2024 Legislative Election in North Sumatra Province. The research focuses on the role of Musa Rajekshah (Bang Ijeck) as Chairman of the North Sumatra Golkar Regional Leadership Council (DPD), who is considered successful in mobilizing public support through social capital, a positive public image, and effective political communication strategies. The research employed a quantitative method with a multiple linear regression approach, involving 400 respondents selected through a multistage stratified purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed through validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests, followed by hypothesis testing. The results indicate that political figures have a positive and significant influence on voting decisions, with a coefficient value of 0.414, a t-value of 8.861, a significance level of 0.000, and a contribution of 61% (R²=0.610). These findings confirm that local political figures can be a key factor in winning elections, even without the support of national figures or the dominance of money politics practices. The practical implication of this study is the importance for political parties to maintain and develop the image of figures with integrity, capacity, and emotional closeness to the community, accompanied by adaptive communication strategies for various voter segments.
