It, therefore, attracts the common people or non-LDII members to send their children to Budi Utomo School. Within the economic field, LDII Gading Mangu set up its dominance by establishing a Joint Business (UB) which vends various goods and services, not only for its members but also for the non-LDII people. Abstract

According to Abdulaziz Sachedina, the main argument of religious pluralism in the Qur’an based on the relationship between private belief (personal) and public projection of Islam in society. By regarding to private faith, the Qur’an being noninterventionist (for example, all forms of human authority should not be disturb the inner beliefs of individuals). While the public projection of faith, the Qur’an attitude based on the principle of coexistence. There is the willingness of the dominant race provide the freedom for people of other faiths with their own rules. Rules could shape how to run their affairs and to live side by side with the Muslims. Thus, based on the principle that the people of Indonesia are Muslim majority, it should be a mirror of a societie’s recognizion, respects and execution of religious pluralism. Abdul Aziz Sachedina called for Muslims to rediscover the moral concerns of public Islam in peace. The call for peace seemed to indicate that the existence of increasingly weakened in the religious sense of the Muslims and hence need to be reaffi rmed. Sachedina also like to emphasize that the position of peace in Islam is parallel with a variety of other doctrines, such as: prayer, fasting, pilgrimage and so on. Sachedina also tried to show the argument that the common view among religious groups is only one religion and traditions of other false and worthless. “Antipluralist” argument comes amid the reality of human religious differences. Abstract

This article will explore the educational value of Johan Vincent Galtung's thoughts on conflict resolution that he offers in breaking down gender-based violence. As many people already know that gender issues are very closely related to discussions about violence. Apart from direct violence, Galtung emphasized another form of violence, namely structural violence, which was not carried out by individuals but hidden in smaller and wider structures. Penetration, segmentation, marginalization and fragmentation, as part of exploitation are reinforcing components in structures that function to block formation and mobility from struggling against exploitation. Johan Galtung's thinking is in line with the thinking of radical feminists. Galtung claims patriarchy as direct, structural and cultural violence. Patriarchy creates a dichotomy between public and private roles, productive and reproductive, which forms an unequal power relations between men and women. As a peace activist, the educational value of conflict resolution offered by Galtung was considered quite wise. Violence is not only done by men, but also by women. According to him, what should be hated is patriarchy, not men. Various forms of violence can be eradicated and replaced with peace. If everyone agrees not to commit physical violence, in which there is gender based violence, then everyone will also get peace.

Abstract

Intolerance is still a socio-religious problem that leads to ongoing conflict. Intolerance gives birth to individualist attitudes, fanaticism, and communal legitimacy. In pluralist and multiculturalist countries, tolerance has not found strong, solid roots, especially withstanding changing times. Tolerance is often temporary, easily ignited by stigma and internal motives. However, in Jombang Regency, as a miniature showcase for a portrait of tolerant religious attitudes, it can survive convincingly amid modernity. Adherents of Islam, Catholics, Protestants, and Hindus can be tolerant under any conditions. Therefore, this research seeks to explore the ideological conception of religious diversity in Jombang as a manifestation of the ideal depiction of tolerance. This article is based on qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Durkheim's social system theory is used as an analytical tool. Primary data was obtained from three religious adherents from religious and community figures. The research results revealed three things: 1) The genealogy of the religious tolerance values of Jombang society between Islam, Christianity, and Hinduism converges on the values of tasamuh, blessings, and the cult of God. 2) the resilience of tolerance amid modernity is created by a robust social structure, namely the genealogy of religious values, forming traditions, and the externalization of religious behavior. 3) religious transvalues create a tolerant categorization of religion, namely the connectivity of religious genealogy, internalization of religious traditions, and externalization of religious attitudes.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is famous for its hospitality, both to people residing in the country as well as to foreign people from various countries. A small example here is to our fellow neighbors –people who are almost every day always encountered –whose homes are close to ours. When a neighbor passes by our house, we will automatically –or even their own –say hello. It is also becoming more common in communities that primarily reside in rural areas. When in difficult circumstances or when hit by disasters – such as a house fire, relatives with death, or even affected by Covid-19 – automatically we – humans known as social beings – will help willingly. From here human being indirectly build a relationship with each other. However, with the existence of Covid-19 that doesn't subsided from the beginning of 2020 – when it first entered Indonesia – until now, people are busy guarding themselves to prevent them from contracting Covid-19. People were faced with two tough choices, namely helping those affected by Covid-19 or better avoiding and maintaining distance so as not to be affected. However, because humans have basic characteristics as social beings as well as Indonesian society which is famous for their attitude of hospitality, the community – especially in Sumberejo Village, Ngasem District, Kediri Regency – still help each other even in the Covid-19 situation.[Interaksi Sosial Masyarakat Sumberejo Ngasem Kediri dalam Menghadapi Orang yang Terdampak Covid-19 sebagai Bentuk Living Hadith Silaturahim.

Abstract

Divorce in families is caused by conflict, while conflict is caused by the fallacy of the postmodern society's perspective that believes that the logic of science by ignoring God's function as a supernatural force. This study aims to reaffirm that Sufism is a value as well as a discipline that can create harmony in postmodern society. The research method used is qualitative-phenomenological, analyzed using the theory of utilitarianism. Data collection techniques through interviews, observations and documentation. The findings of this study are that 1) sufism is internalized to society as a basis of value. Marriage is a sacred and accountable covenant with the Lord. Marriage is seen as a means of achieving God's pleasure, not merely a relationship between man and man; 2) the rule of law is the process of achieving a goal, not a final rule that cannot be contextualized in a postmodern context. The rights and obligations of husbands and wives can be adjusted to the sufistic attitudes of postmodern society that has a high work ethic, is optimistic and pro-active in making a family living. As a process, the rule of law is subjective and the existence of other processes with the same purpose becomes common. 3) the law aims at creating happiness whose ultimate goal is harmony. Then the process on any basis, culture, character, customary law, if it can bring happiness is socially valid.

Abstract

Sufi teachings play a strategic role in strengthening family resilience, particularly among the Shiddiqiyah Order community in Jombang. Sufi doctrine forms the basis for fulfilling social responsibilities as an expression of obedience to God. Sufi teachings erode worldly desires, lust and hedonism within the family, which pose a serious threat to resilience. This study aims to strengthen family functions through a Sufi approach, which in the process creates strong cohesion between Sufism and Sharia. Family resilience is created and shaped by the convergence of spirituality contained in the teachings of the order. Members of the order are able to adapt to mental, social and even economic crises through psychological and spiritual resilience. This concept is the answer to family breakdown and fragmentation caused by authoritarianism and hedonism. How is the concept of family resilience built by Sufi followers? How can Sufi teachings strengthen family resilience? This is a qualitative study, with primary data obtained from interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the teachings of the Shiddiqiyah Order teach a balance between the Sufi and Sharia dimensions. The rituals of dzikir jahr and the heart are directed at strengthening the relationship with God, while still making worldly functions a manifestation of faith. From zikr, heart rituals and manifestations of faith can give meaning to family relationships, strengthen emotions and create openness in communication, healthy emotional expression through the concept of muhasabah as a spiritual instrument. It is this process that enables the families of the Shiddiqiyah Order to survive and harmoniously establish symbiotic relationships within the family.

Abstract

This research describes the phenomenon of contestation between the religious sects of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah and Islamic Unity/ Persatuan Islam (Persis) in Sapeken, Sumenep-Madura and economy strategy played by Persis as the majority in the midst of NU's domination. This research is unique because of several reasons, 1) Sumenep-Madura is the basis of NU and Muhammadiyah, 2) Persis is able to shift those two religious organizations. In several studies, the Madurese community is more highlighted with nuances of nahdliyin, but the depiction of conditions in Sapeken is different and inversely proportional. Therefore the current researcher offers a synthesis by raising the idea that Persis's power lies in the politic-economy strategy. In order to be more systematic, this research used qualitative with a descriptive analysis approach. The data taken was only primary sources by involving directly to the field through interview techniques and non-participatory observation. The data were later analyzed. A number of essential results were found, first, the strategy used to shift the traditionalist religious sects was perusing the parts of the people-base economy unempowered by NU and Muhammadiyah. Second, the religious-based politic-economy played by Persis controled the micro-macro economic development. Third, the structures controlled as a form of religious-political economy were economic and educational aspects.
