Abstract

The purposes of this study are to investigate the effect of condenser cooling fan addition and airflow rate on the performance of Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG). In this work, humid air from the environment was supplied into AWG at 15 lpm. Then, it was condensed in the system with and without using a condenser cooling fan. The fan airflow rate also varied from 0.09 m3/s to 0.16 m3/s in order to better assess AWG performance. The results showed that the use of a condenser cooling fan can improve the Coefficient of Performance (COP) and the efficiency of the Atmospheric Water Generator. The average value of COPactual of 2.499 and the highest efficiency of 79.07% was achieved by an Atmosphere Water Generator equipped with a condenser cooling fan at an airflow rate of 0.16 m3/s.

Abstract

Penyebaran virus COVID-19 sangat berdampak diseluruh aspek kehidupan masyarakat, khususnya dibidang ekonomi diseluruh dunia termasuk di Indonesia. Tidak terkecuali pada pelaku usaha mahasiswa yang telah dibina oleh Program Pengembangan Kewirausahaan (PPK) Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Semarang tahap pertama. Program Pengembangan Kewirausahaan (PPK) merupakan salah satu program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yakni dibidang pengembangan usaha mandiri mahasiswa khususnya. Program PPK bertujuan untuk mengembangkan jiwa dan potensi mahasiswa dalam berwirausaha dengan bersinergi dengan penguasaan teknologi yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan PPK adalah secara demonstrasi dan pembinaan tenant. Proses pelaksanaan terdiri atas tujuh tahapan yakni: (1) rekruitment tenant dan pembentukan kelompok usaha, (2) webinar study banding, (3) webinar sertifikasi produk dan kegalitas usaha, (4) pemberian dana stimulus tenant, (5) pendampingan usaha, (6) monitoring dan evaluasi. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan Program Pengembangan Kewirausahaan (PPK) di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Semarang diperoleh hasil bahwa terdapat wirausaha mahasiswa yang mampu bertahan dan stabil pada masa pandemi COVID-19 antara lain dibidang kuliner, jasa kecantikan, dan produk busana. Pendampingan kewirausahaan mahasiswa yang dilakakukan memberikan sumbangsi dalam penguatan kegiatan berwirausaha dimasa pandemi COVID-19.

Abstract

This study examines the significance level of teaching factory learning model to the occupational readiness of the students. Using the research design of a quantitative approach with causal comparative, the study included the following variables: teaching factory learning model (X) and occupational readiness (Y).The population consisted of 30 students of the study program of Automotive Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Semarang. They were selected using proportional random sampling technique. The data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The findings shows the implemetation of teaching factory learning models (X) contributes significantly with the percentage of 22.80% to the occupational-readiness (Y). These results suggest that the implementation of teaching factory in the learning process is strongly recommended for the vocational educators both lecturers and teachers. The implementation can be adjusted to suit the conditions and the learning resources available in the educational institution.

Abstract

Masyarakat zaman globalisasi sekarang menganggap kecakapan dalam menggunakan bahasa inggris adalahsuatu kewajiban. Didukung dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi, fenomena tersebut semakin merebakterjadi di kalangan masyarakat luas baik dalam lingkup pendidikan maupun lingkup profesional. KemampuanBahasa Inggris yang baik dapat menunjang karir dan professionalitas. Hal ini tidak terkecuali bagi pengajar.Bahasa Inggris masih merupakan tuntutan yang harus dipenuhi oleh para pengajar non – Bahasa Inggris. Test ofEnglish as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) merupakan tes bahasa Inggris yang digunakan untuk memenuhipersyaratan administrative terutama bagi mereka yang akan atau sedang menempuh pendidikan lanjut. Banyakpengajar yang terhambat dalam hal studi akibat nilai TOEFL yang tidak tercapai. Oleh karena itu, tim pengabdihendak melakukan training Bahasa Inggris di SMK N JATENG.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Android learning media on lubrication system competency. The purpose of this research is to create appropriate learning applications according to experts, determine the effectiveness and efficiency of the media, and determine the response of teachers and students to the media created. This research used the ADDIE development model. This research used a pre-experimental design in the form of a one group pretest-posttest design which was carried out at the Concentration of Light Vehicle Engineering Expertise at SMK Ma'arif NU 1 Ajibarang. The research results showed that Android learning media received a score from media experts of 85.16% in very worthy category and material experts received a score of 88.97% in very worthy category. There is significant differences between the result of pretest and posttest in experiment class (sig. 2-tailed 0.000 < 0.05) and also in control class (sig. 2-tailed 0.000 <0.05).  Android media can improve student learning outcomes in experimental classes with an average percentage increase of 62.15% in quite effective category. Meanwhile, the control class that did not use Android media obtained an average percentage increase of 25.62% in the Ineffective category. There was no time efficiency in this research. The media received a teacher response of 95.45% in very good category and a student response of 77.41% in the "Good" category.

Abstract

Mangunsari Village, Gunungpati District, Semarang City, possesses significant potential in duck egg farming, yet the development of local salted egg businesses faces several constraints. Key challenges include a time-consuming conventional production process (10-15 days) with high risk of egg spoilage, limited product diversification and unattractive packaging, and insufficient knowledge and skills among the community regarding technology, simple financial management, and digital marketing. These conditions lead to low productivity, limited product value, and restricted market reach. This community service program was designed to provide comprehensive solutions through technology innovation and empowerment. The implementation methods included socialization, workshops, practical demonstrations, and intensive assistance focusing on operating the Salted Egg Oven Machine, developing product diversification (flavor variants and packaging), business cash flow bookkeeping, and digital marketing using social media and e-commerce platforms. The achieved results demonstrate the potential to drastically cut down salted egg production time to approximately five hours, successful development of at least two new flavor variants, and improved packaging designs. The partners also showed increased capacity in operating and maintaining the oven, conducting basic financial recording, and utilizing digital technology for promotion and sales. This program tangibly enhances production efficiency, added value, and potential market expansion, expected to positively impact the community's productivity and economic welfare. The service contributes to achieving the SDGs in supporting food security, inclusive economic growth, and sustainable production.

Abstract

The majority of farmers in Mangunsari Village, Semarang, face crucial problems related to dependence on expensive and soil-damaging chemical fertilizers, compounded by supply scarcity. Despite possessing significant potential in cow livestock waste, its utilization for Organic Fertilizer is hindered by lack of knowledge, skills, and a time-consuming conventional production process (2-3 months). These conditions negatively impact agricultural productivity, production costs, and farmer welfare. This community service program aimed to address these issues through the application of innovative Organic Fertilizer machine technology and farmer empowerment. Implementation methods included problem identification, program socialization, comprehensive training (Organic Fertilizer production using the machine, machine operation, maintenance, and repair, fermentation techniques, product packaging), practical demonstrations, and intensive assistance to Kelompok Tani Teger 1. Program results indicate remarkable success in drastically reducing Organic Fertilizer production time to just 7-14 days with machine use, alongside significant increases in farmer capacity for correctly producing Organic Fertilizer, independently operating and maintaining the machine, and creating product packaging. These achievements effectively decrease reliance on chemical fertilizers, optimize livestock waste utilization, enhance production efficiency, and support farmer independence. This program makes a tangible contribution to environmental conservation, improved farmer economic welfare, and the achievement of SDGs, particularly Zero Hunger (SDG 2) and Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), through promoting sustainable agriculture.
