Abstract

In the Society 5.0 era, seamless digital connectivity is essential. Telkom, through its “Five Bold Moves” transformation agenda, integrated IndiHome into its mobile subsidiary, Telkomsel, to streamline operations and enhance customer experience. Following this, Telkomsel launched Telkomsel One, a Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) product that combines mobile and fixed broadband into a single platform. The service offers a bundled package of internet, voice, and entertainment for a unified experience at home and on the go. Despite its strategic potential, adoption has not yet reached its potential in West Java, highlighting the need to understand consumer behavior better. This study applies the Push – Pull – Mooring (PPM) model to examine switching intentions toward Telkomsel One. Push factors include dissatisfaction, pull factors reflect perceived benefits and convenience, and mooring factors involve loyalty and switching costs. The study also explores generational differences among Generation Z, Millennials, and Generation X. Using SEM-PLS with 300 respondents in West Java, findings show that pull factors have the strongest influence on switching intentions, followed by moderate push effects, while mooring factors act as a significant barrier, particularly for older users. Gen Z is digitally open and engaged, but they are not typically the main decision-makers when it comes to household connectivity products. Millennials show a strong intent to adopt customizable services that offer clear value and fairness. Gen X is the most resistant due to attachment and complexity, requiring trust-driven and personalized support.

Abstract

This study examines the use of Metahuman AI technology in music concerts, with a case study of the virtual performance of Nike Ardilla at Synchronize Fest 2024. The main focus is to explore how the presence of metahumans as a new medium influences fan behavior and the dynamics of digital mass communication. This research employs a phenomenological approach (Schutz, 1967) using qualitative methods through in-depth interviews, observations, and social media content analysis of fans. The theoretical framework of this study refers to Digital Mass Communication Theory (McQuail, 2010), which emphasizes interactivity, virtuality, and media convergence; the concept of Mediated Presence (Couldry & Hepp, 2017), which views media as a social environment; and Convergence Culture (Jenkins, 2006), which explains the shifting relationship between media, technology, and audiences. The findings reveal that Metahuman AI serves not only as an entertainment medium but also as a collective identity construction that extends the digital existence of artists. This study shows that digital mass communication has shifted from merely transmitting information to becoming an immersive experiential space, where technology functions as both a cultural and emotional actor. Abstract

The era of Society 5.0 requires the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and human-centered values in vocational education. Students in Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) must acquire strong soft skills such as effective communication, digital empathy, and self-confidence to meet industry demands. This community engagement program aims to strengthen students’ soft skills through the collaboration of AI and empathetic communication at SMK Kartika XIX-1 Bandung. The study employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving 20 students from grades X and XI, five supervising teachers, and two facilitators from Telkom University. The program combined the AI-based Humanoid Communication 2.0 concept with training in empathetic digital communication and ethical interaction. The results indicate a 46% average improvement in students’ communication clarity, empathic response, and confidence when performing simulated professional scenarios. Students demonstrated enhanced reflective communication, polite language use, and greater assurance when engaging with AI-driven simulations. In conclusion, the integration of AI and empathetic communication effectively enhances SMK students’ soft skills and serves as a replicable model for vocational education in the Society 5.0 era.
