Abstract

PO2E2W learning model (problem orientation, observation, explanation, elaboration, and write in science) assisted by PhET media is a learning model that is oriented towards self regulated learning which in the process of physics learning activities is carried out with the help of PhET media. The purpose of this study was to analyze the practicality of the PO2E2W model assisted by PhET media in improving the physics problem solving skills of high school students. This research was carried out at Kemala Bhayangkari 1 High School (Surabaya, Indonesia) for students of class XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2 and XI IPA 3. Criteria for practicality of learning devices in this study were based on (1) the implementation of the learning implementation plan (RPP) during one meeting in class XI IPA 1 and the implementation of the learning plan (RPP) for five meetings in class XI IPA 2 and XI IPA 3, (2) obstacles during learning activities. The number of observers in this study is two observers. The aspects observed consisted of introduction, core and closing activities. Based on the results of the practicality study of the PO2E2W model assisted by PhET media, the results obtained (1) the average assessment of two observers in class XI IPA 1 was 3.30 with good category with a percentage of agreement 96.75%, XI IPA 2 was 3.71 in very both with a percentage of agreement 95.84% and in class XI IPA 3 was 3.76 in very good category with a percentage of agreement 96.85% (2) obstacles during learning activities that can be overcome properly. Conclusion based on the results of the study of the freeness of the PO2E2W model assisted by PhET media is practically applied in learning to improve the physics problem solving skills of senior high school students.

Abstract

One of the potential agricultural products from Pasinan Village, Lekok sub-district, Pasuruan, East Java Province is Kawista Fruit. Residents of Pasinan used it for consumption, both raw and ripe. The large consumption of this fruit was caused an abundance of fruit peel. Based on the results of phytochemical analysis, the extract of kawista fruit peel contains saponins, tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids. Another income source of Pasinan residents comes from marine resources, that can be served in fresh fish, dried fish and other processed fish is susceptible to contaminated by microorganisms such as Salmonella sp. Salmonella sp. is pathogenic microbe lives on intestines of animals and humans. Purposes of this study are to determine the antibacterial activity of kawista rind extract on the growth of Salmonella sp. in-vitro and to determine the concentration of Kawista peel extract which is effective for inhibiting the growth of Salmonella sp using the paper disc diffusion method. The results of this study, the diameter of the inhibitory zone for the growth of Salmonella sp. using variables concentrations of kawista rind extract at 12.5%; 25%; 50%; 75%; 100%, with negative control are distilled water and methanol and positive control is tetracycline. At a concentration of 100% extract, the diameter of the bacterial inhibition test was the largest and significantly different from another treatment group at concentrations of 12.5%; 25%; 50%; 75%. However, the 100% extract showed a smaller inhibitory zone than the tetracycline treatment group, but not significantly different. Based on the results of this study, that can be concluded that kawista peel extract is effective for inhibiting the growth of Salmonella sp. Kawista peel extract at a concentration of 100% is most effective for inhibiting the growth of Salmonella sp and shows results that are not significantly different from tetracycline.

Abstract

Tugas utama yang wajib dilaksanakan setiap Dosen di Perguruan Tinggi adalah Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Salah satu dari Tri Dharma tersebut adalah kegiatan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM). Berdasarkan hasil wawancara yang dilakukan oleh Dosen dengan guru di MI Darul Muta’allimin diperoleh informasi bahwa banyak siswa yang setiap hari menggunakan handphone bahkan sampai tidur terlalu larut malam untuk bermain handphone dan mereka menggunakan handphone untuk main game. Hal tersebut juga didukung berdasarkan angket siswa bahwa rata-rata siswa sudah mempunya handphone dan siswa belum mengetahui dan memahami adanya radiasi akibat paparan gelombang elektromagnet frekuensi rendah (Handphone) Berdasarkan informasi di atas, para dosen ITSNU Pasuruan dan Universitas Negeri Surabaya ingin memberikan pendampingan dan penyuluhan pencegahan radiasi akibat paparan gelombang elektromagnetik frekuensi rendah (Handphone) di MI Darul Muta’allimin. Metode pendampingan dan penyuluhan ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, praktik, evaluasi dan analisis data dengan menekankan pada penguasaan teori dan berdasarkan hasil penelitian. Tujuan penyuluhan ini adalah agar pengetahuan dan pemahaman radiasi akibat paparan gelombang elektromagnetik frekuensi rendah (Handphone) dapat meningkat sehingga dapat mengurangi penggunaan Handphone. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan kegiatan ini, disimpulkan: siswa MI Darul Muta’allimin 100% akan mengurangi penggunaan Handphone serta sudah mengetahui dan memahami bahaya radiasi akibat paparan gelombang elektromagnetik frekuensi rendah (Handphone).
