Abstract

This study aims to reveal the kinship relationship between Riau Malay and Sundanese languages ??seen from some vocabularies similarities. The method used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative with note-taking technique. The research data is formed of vocabulary in BMR and BS obtained from various written sources and informant interviews. Based on 200 Swadesh words for BMR and BS, there are 12,5%, namely 25 identical pairs words. This data proves that BMR and BS are not closely related because the vocabulary similarities are less than 36% or part of the sub-grouping. Vowel relatives couples different by 16 data or about 18%; 3 relatives couples have different pairs of consonants or about 1.5%; 5 relatives couples or about 2.5% who have one syllable difference; and 9 relatives couples or about 4.5% who have one consonant phoneme difference. The results of the study found that the percentage of kinship between the two languages ??was 29% which indicated that the BMR and BS were the languages ??of the family from one family (stock).BMR and BS are thought to be the same prelanguage around 2,856 years ago and are estimated to have started to separate from their parent languages ??in 833 BC (calculated in 2023)

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the growth and yield response of sweet corn Bonanza variety from the application of banana stem bokashi fertilizer. This research was started from April to July 2021 on Loa Tebu Village, Tenggarong District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. This study was arranged in a non-factorial Randomized Completed Block Design (RCBD) consisting of 8 levels of treatment and 3 replications i.e. b0 (without treatment), b1 (5 t ha-1), b2 (10 t ha-1), b3 (15 t ha-1), b4 (20 t ha-1), b5 (25 t ha-1), b6 (30 t ha-1), and b7 (35 t ha-1). The results showed that banana stem bokashi fertilizer had a significant effect on the average plant height at 20 days after planting with the highest yield in treatment b4 (60.24 cm) and the lowest in treatment b3 (43.08 cm) and the average plant height 40 days after planting, with the highest yield in treatment b4 (198.92 cm) and the lowest in treatment b0 (157.58 cm). Banana stem bokashi fertilizer had no significant effect on the average plant height 60 days after planting, number of leaves, age of appearance of male flowers, weight of planting cobs and weight of cobs per hectare. The highest yield of average cob weight per hectare was in treatment b4 (33.33 ± 1.83 t ha-1) and the lowest was in treatment b0 (26.69 ± 0.29 t ha-1).

Abstract

Secondary metabolites are crucial for plant resistance to biotic and abiotic stress. Fertilization with phosphorus (P), magnesium (Mg), and copper (Cu) can enhance secondary metabolite production, supporting plant defense mechanisms. This study evaluated the effects of P, Mg, and Cu fertilization on nutrient absorption and the production of phenolic and flavonoid metabolites in Pendok rice during vegetative and generative phases. A randomized block design with seven nutrient treatments and three replications was applied, involving 21 pots in a greenhouse. P was supplied as Super Phosphate Ca(H2PO4) (SP-36) and Phosphate Rock (PR). Mg and Cu treatments included combinations with and without their addition. Results showed that SP-36 with Mg produced the highest phenolic content during the vegetative phase, significantly higher than other treatments with 7.80 mg (GAE).g extract-1. Mg increased phenolic levels, while Mg and P had a significant effect (95% confidence level) on flavonoid and phenolic content during both growth phases. In conclusion, Mg and P fertilization effectively enhanced secondary metabolite production, improving plant resilience through nutrient optimization. These findings emphasize the role of proper nutrient management in boosting secondary metabolite quality in rice cultivation.
