Abstract

This research is a study of the mediatization of the ḥadīth on Dajjāl (the anti-Christ) in the context of media culture. Mediatization of the ḥadīth through illustrations allows every Muslim to understand the stages and events that will occur at the End of the Time (Ākhir al-Zamān). Such ḥadīth is pre-actual doctrinal texts in Islam. This article uses the theory of mediatization that has a close link with the discipline of media studies and religiosity. We argue that the ḥadīth illustration as an expression of religious beliefs is a continuation of the massive use of technology in understanding religious doctrines. On the other hand, the illustration of the ḥadīth. Ḥadīth on the Dajjāl in digital media has formed a new pattern in the understanding of ḥadīth from abstract-imaginative to concrete-imaginative. The illustration of the Dajjāl has become an indication of the widespread role of the media in the spread of Islamic doctrines, and its changing role from being dominated by the texts to being dominated by the logic of religion. This research uses the theory of mediatization with the approach of media culture. The data is obtained from footage of such ḥadīth documentary airing on YouTube accounts. These shows usually refer to preachers who are concerned with conveying the contents of the ḥadīth.

Abstract

This study examines the process of instilling the values of religious moderation through learning tafsir in Islamic boarding schools in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. Departing from the role of Islamic boarding schools as educational institutions as well as centers for character formation, this study highlights that violent acts are still found that show the weak internalization of the value of moderation. Using a qualitative approach, this study found that Qur'anic verses with moderate nuances-such as Surah al-Fatihah (1, 3), al-Baqarah (11–13), al-Furqan (63), Fushilat (34), al-Hujurat (9), and al-Mujadilah (11)-were transmitted through the subject of tafsir. The results of the study show that the internalization of values is carried out through three stages: textual understanding of verses, strengthening values through discussions and case studies, and habituation of behavior in the life of Islamic boarding schools. However, there are variations in implementation between Islamic boarding schools; Some have applied contextual and participatory approaches, while others still use textual lecture methods that lack critical reflection. This study has limitations on limited area coverage and no long-term observations. Nevertheless, these findings provide important implications for the development of a more contextual and effective interpretation pedagogy in building a moderate culture in the Islamic boarding school environment.

Abstract

the global ecological crisis has exposed the limitations of the conventional Green Training which often relies on mechanistic and compliance based approach the global that fail to foster long-term intrinsic motivation. this study aims to formulate a spiritually essentialized green training model by integrating Badiusman Said Nursi ecotheology from Kitab al-Lamaat. using a qualitative library research explores the transformative potential of tafakkur alam (nature contemplation). Findings reveal that essentializing training through be concepts of tajalli (divine manifestation) and ubudiyyah iqlimiyyah (ecological servitude) shifts employee motivation drom external pressure to theocentric commitment. the study concludes thats viewing nature as a mirror of divine names provides a stronger ontological foundation than secular models. implications suggest that HRD praactitioners should incorporate reflective-spiritual practices, such as contemplation journals, into corporate curricula. this paradigm shift not only promotes sustainable pro-enviromental behavior beyond the workplace but also addresses the root cause of moral dissengagement in enviromental management.

Abstract

Interpretations of hadiths on marriage have commonly been treated as objective and normative religious explanations, despite being shaped by historical, intellectual, and sociopolitical contexts. While previous studies have primarily examined marriage hadiths through legal, theological, or textual approaches, limited attention has been given to the power relations underlying their interpretation. This study investigates the genealogy of marriage hadith interpretation in Fath al-Mun’im Sharh Sahih Muslim by Musa Syahin Lasyin through Michel Foucault’s genealogical framework. Employing qualitative library research, the study analyzes Fath al-Mun’im  as its primary source to trace the formation of interpretive discourse, the operation of power relations, and the production of knowledge embedded in the commentary. The findings reveal that Lasyin’s interpretation is not derived solely from the authority of hadith texts or the classical commentary tradition but is constructed through the interaction of fiqh heritage, Al-Azhar’s institutional authority, and the sociopolitical realities of modern Egypt. This interaction produces an epistemological shift from a predominantly normative legal orientation toward a maqasid-based and socio-contextual reading, particularly in discussions of marriage, betrothal, spousal relations, and women’s rights. The study concludes that hadith interpretation constitutes a dynamic discursive practice in which textual authority, institutional knowledge, and power relations continuously shape religious meaning. By integrating Foucauldian genealogy into hadith studies, this research contributes a critical analytical framework for understanding hadith commentaries as historically contingent sites of knowledge production rather than merely neutral textual expositions.
