Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT Agility is one's ability to change position and direction of motion quickly, efficiently and precisely without losing balance. Agility is very important in football. Based on the theory that burpee's exercise and hexagon drill can improve agility. This study was conducted to compare burpee's exercise and hexagon drill in improving agility in soccer athletes of children aged 9-11 years in Football School Guntur Denpasar. Hypothesis Test with Paired Sample T-test and Independent Sample T-test. The result of Paired Sample T-test in Burpee’s Exercise group is p=0.001 (p<0.05) and Hexagon Drill group is p=0.000 (p<0.05) showed the significant differences in the agility improvement before and after intervention. The result of Independent T-test showed there was significant differences between Burpee’s Exercise and Hexagon Drill, where p=0.046 (p<0.05). This it can be concluded that Burpee’s Exercise is better for improving agility than Hexagon Drill of soccer athletes of children aged 9-11 years at the Football School Guntur Denpasar. Keywords: Agility, Burpee's exercise, Hexagon drill.

Abstract

BackgroundThe severity of COVID-19 infection has an increasing trend in the elderly, which contributes to the high morbidity and mortality rates in this population. Aging itself is a prominent risk factor for severe disease and death from COVID-19. Case DescriptionThis case report a 71-year-old woman who complained of shortness of breath for 3 days before being admitted to the hospital. Bilateral consolidation and increased bronchovascular pattern were found on chest radiograph, and a positive SARS-COV2 nasopharyngeal swab PCR test result was noted. This patient was diagnosed with confirmed severe manifestation of COVID-19, community-acquired pneumonia and type 1 respiratory failure, as well as type II diabetes mellitus and suspicion of acute gastritis. The results of the geriatric status assessment were moderate functional status, risk of malnutrition, and moderate risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This patient underwent treatment in accordance with the COVID-19 protocol along with management for geriatric status improvement. The patient was given permission to return home after 14 days of treatment, during which time her health had improved and her functional status had changed to moderate dependency. During follow-up, the patient continued to receive therapy. She is still being observed and future evaluations will be conducted. ConclusionThe increased susceptibility of the elderly to COVID-19 infection is caused by various factors. A burden of death and long-term disability brought on by this pandemic may be lessened by new or modified therapies that target aging-associated mechanisms. Therefore, COVID-19 case management in this population should be done with a comprehensive approach.

Abstract

Occult hepatitis B infection (OBI) is still a topic of debate worldwide. It is defined as the presence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA in serum and/or liver from HBsAg-negative subjects. OBI may lead to the development of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. It continues to present several unique challenges in organ transplantation despite the availability of an effective vaccine to prevent HBV infection and the introduction of oral therapy to treat HBV infection. HBV reactivation following organ transplantation can occur even in recipients with absent hepatitis B surface antigen and remains an important cause of morbidity and mortality. Concerning OBI complications, the screening of HBV DNA by the highly sensitive molecular means should be implemented for both recipients of organ transplant and organ transplant donors especially in highly endemic areas of HBV. In the era of potent antivirals and with evolving knowledge, HBsAg (+) renal transplant candidates and recipients can be monitored and successfully treated. Kidney organs from HBsAg-negative and anti-HBc–positive donors should be considered for transplant candidates after weighing the risk-benefit ratio. All transplant candidates should receive HBV vaccination if they are not immune to facilitate receipt of an organ from a donor with anti-HBc seropositivity.

Abstract

This study, entitled “Deixis and References in the Alice in Wonderland Movie,” aims to identify various types of deixis and analyze the reference of the meaning of each type of deixis used in the movie Alice in Wonderland. The data source was obtained from the Alice in Wonderland movie, an American fantasy film directed by Tim Burton and produced by Walt Disney Pictures, released on February 25, 2010, based on a screenplay by Linda Woolverton. This study uses a qualitative method with documentation and observation techniques. The data was taken from Scripts.com and completed with repeated movie viewing. The steps include downloading the script, watching the movie, identifying utterances containing deixis, and analyzing them according to Levinson’s (1983) deixis theory and Cruse’s (2006) reference theory. The analysis is presented using informal descriptive methods. The results of this study indicated that five types of deixis were employed in the movie: person deixis, place deixis, temporal deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis. The movie Alice in Wonderland (2010) data represented each type of deixis. The analysis revealed that each deixis category appeared with varying frequency: 334 instances of personal deixis, 35 instances of place deixis, 27 instances of time deixis, 87 instances of discourse deixis, and 41 instances of social deixis. These findings suggest that personal deixis was the dominant type used by the characters in the movie, emphasizing the role of speaker-hearer reference in the narrative discourse. Furthermore, two kinds of reference were found, anaphora and cataphora.
