Abstract

This research aims to determine the needs of teachers and students before the formulation of Riau Malay based ethnomatematics e-module to facilitate student"™s mathematical literacy skills. This research used qualitative descriptive methods that are oriented towards the development of a product. The subject of this research were two mathematics teacher and students of class XI of SMA Nurul Falah Pekanbaru. Data were collected by using interview method and questionnaire distribution. The data obtained were analayzed into three aspects which are analysis of curriculum, analysis of students, and analysis of materials. The result shows that the curriculum that is being used is curriculum 2013. Teaching materials that are being used are textbooks from Erlangga publisher. Result of student"™s analysis shows that 85,7% of students need the exercise about literacy and numeracy in matehmatics subject. 71,4% of students agree that literacy questions in mathematics subjects that contain elements of Riau Malay culture will increase their interest in understanding the problem. The result of this research shows that it is necessary to develop an ethnomathematics e-module based on Riau Malay culture to facilitate student"™s mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

Edible film have known as an innovative eco-friendly packaging materials because can reduce plastic wastes. One of primary components to form edible film are gelatine which hydrocolloids and contain gel-forming agents. This study used gelatine from intestines of chicken with sorbitol as plasticizer to increase film plasticity properties. Edible film are applied to surface a food should have to good quality and visual appearance. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of sorbitol on colour, light transmission, and transparency edible film of gelatine from chicken intestines. The method of this study carried out by experimental using a completely randomized design (CRD) anova and duncan’s test with 5 concentration treatments are, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%, each treatment have 4 times repetition. Statistical analysis result obtained that sorbitol concentration treatments significantly effected (P<0.05) the variables have tested. The best edible film are film contains 30% concentration of sorbitol with colour value L* 26.32, a* 33.32, and b* 0.36 (light, redness, and yelowish), light transmission value are 0.43—27.39 (200—800 nm), and transparency value 4.09.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan matematis yang perlu dimiliki oleh siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan kontekstual pada materi barisan dan deret geometri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik tes dan wawancara secara luring. Subjek penelitian yaitu 19 siswa kelas XI MIA SMA Nurul Falah tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Analisis terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa diihat melalui indikator yaitu memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian masalah, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian masalah, dan menafsirkan hasil yang diperoleh. Hasil analisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 75,3% siswa telah memiliki kemampuan untuk memahami masalah yang disajikan dengan baik. Sementara itu, hanya 15,70% siswa yang melakukan penafsiran hasil yang perhitungan yang diperoleh. Mathematical problem-solving ability is one of the mathematical abilities which students must have. This research aims to analyze mathematical problem-solving ability in solving contextual problems on geometric sequences and series. This research is explorative research with qualitative and quantitative approaching. The data collection technique used was an offline test and face-to-face interview techniques. The subject of this research is 19 students of class XI MIA SMA Nurul Falah year 2020/2021. Analysis of students’ mathematical problem-solving ability is seen through four indicators, namely: understanding the problem, planning the problem solving, implementing the problem-solving plans, and interpreting the obtained result. The result of this research shows that 75,3% of students already can understand the problem. Meanwhile, only 15,70% of students interpret the result of the calculations.
