Abstract

Using Indirect Hemqiglutination (IHA) test on 26 domesticfowl (Gallus sp.)and domestic pigeon (Columba liviaj were screened "Toxoplasrna gondii infection. All of the serum samples tested were positiffor this protopal infection. From the quantitatif test on 14positives serum samples, 14,28 % has the lowest liter of1£4 and 7,14 % has the highest liter of 1:1024. Mode of the disease spreading and the prevention off.gondii were discussed.

Abstract

S. KADARSAN, E. PURWANINGSIH, S. HARTINI, I.BUDIARTI & A. SAIM 1986. The pattern of parasite infestation on rats at the Bogor Botanical Garden.Berita Biologi 3(4): 173 - 177. Three species of rats namely Rattus exulans, R. r. diardi and R. tiomanicus inhabiting the Bogor Botanical Garden were investigated with respect to their ectoand endoparasite fauna. All three species were infested with Laelaps nutalli, Echinolaelaps echidninus (Acarina); Hoplopleura pacifica and Polyplax reclinata (Anoplura); Xenopsylla cheopis (Siphoriaptera);Hydatigera taeniaefortnis and Viktorokara sp.(Helminth).Additional parasites were Poecilochinis sp., Polyplax spinulosa and Beaveria sp.,a new and yet to be described Troglotrematid Trematode found only R.tiomanicus.The rate of infestation is in part dependent on the age and sex of the host which is seemingly associated with the mobility and food searching capability of the host Time may play an additional role as well.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics-Project Based Learning (STEM-PjBL) and discovery learning on students' problem-solving abilities. The research is a Quasi-Experiment with a Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The participants involved are 53 students of class X from a high school in Malang, where 28 students studied with STEM-PjBL, and 25 students studied with discovery learning. This research was conducted on the subject of impulse and momentum. In this analysis, researchers have developed problem-solving tools with a particular field approach to impulse and momentum topics in order to obtain an instrument with a reliability of  0.81. This instrument collects student problem-solving data before and after learning both in the experimental class and in the comparison class. Problem-solving skills data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed a significant difference in the scores of students' problem-solving abilities in the experimental class and the comparison class (p<0.05). The problem-solving ability in the experimental class (Md=78.74) was higher than the comparison class (Md=70.00). In STEM-PjBL learning, students are better trained and challenged to solve problems in everyday life. Compared to the comparison class, learning in the experimental class is more able to accommodate students' ideas and make students more interested in learning. In conclusion, STEM-PjBL has a significant positive effect on improving students' problem-solving abilities rather than discovery learning.

Abstract

This research was developmental research with aims to develop, knowing validity and practicability of thermodynamics e-book based on TPACK. This research was using 4D models and did only as far as develop step. The result based on 4D model steps were (1) Define produces task analysis to fulfil 21st century skill, (2) Design produces 2 product which are teacher book and student book, (3) Develop step produces result of validation and the last product (e-book/flipbook for teacher and student). Expert validation showed the teaching instructional material is valid, learning planning is valid, Content Representation is valid, and e-book is valid. 89,5% students responded this e-book very interesting. This e-book can be said quite practically. Limited trial and small experiment were carried out in one of class in senior high school of one Ngoro Mojokerto and concluded that the increase in the stabilization of sub-topic introduction to Temperature and the Thermodynamics Zero Low is high through the activity of comparing (Let’s Compare). Students can learn thermodynamics by keeping up with science and technology developments by this e-book. The practical benefit is helping the success of learning process carried out at school and home because e-books are provided in 2 forms, teacher book and student book.
