Abstract

ABSTRACT ARI is a disease that affects around 30 to 50 percent of workers in developing countries. ARI is also a disease with the highest visit in Dalaka Sub-District Puskesmas Puskesmas in Donggala Regency from 2014 - 2017. This study aims to determine ISPA risk factors in kapok workers in Dalaka Village, Sindue District, Donggala Regency. This type of research is observational with a case control approach. The case subjects were kapok workers who experienced ARI and the control subjects were kapok workers who did not experience ARI. There were 22 cases and 66 controls with matching age and sex. Sampling is done by total sampling technique. Data analysis used the odd ratio test with α = 5%. The results showed that the use of masks (OR = 5,231 and CI = 1,719-15,915), smoking behavior (OR = 3,200 and CI = 1,113-9,199), working period (OR = 3,527 and CI = 1,076-11,564) were ARI risk factors in kapok workers. The Dalaka Assistant Health Center needs to provide guidance on the importance of using masks for kapok workers as well as the impact caused by smoking behavior to prevent the occurrence of ARI. Keywords: ARI, Kapok Workers ABSTRAK  ISPA merupakan penyakit yang diderita sekitar 30 hingga 50 persen pekerja di negara berkembang.
