Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding a guide vane or deflector on the performance of the Savonius Type U wind turbine as an effort to improve the performance of the Savonius Type U wind turbine. This research is a type of experimental research, including the addition of a guide vane or wind direction consisting of 3 variations of the pitch angle on the guide vane, including 30 °, 60 ° and 80 ° with variations in wind speed using a variation of the distance of 150 cm, 180 cm and 200 cm from the source. wind in the form of a blower to the Savonius Type U wind turbine by testing using a generator and without a generator and comparisons with the data without using a guide vane on the Savonius Type U wind turbine. The observed and measured factors are wind speed, power, rpm (rotation per minute), torque and Cp (coefficient of power). The results of the experimental research carried out obtained maximum data results on the Savonius Type U wind turbine on the variation of the addition of a 40 ° pitch angle guide vane with a distance of 150 cm, an average wind speed of 7.6 m / s to 7.9 m / s with a turbine rotation. equal to 218.1 rpm the power generated is 61.70 Watt with a Cp of 0.88%, torque of 3.46 Nm using a load of 12 Watt LED lights.

Abstract

Wind turbine blades are using to drive generator, in the blades there are airfoils that can produce lift force. One that affects the airfoil performance is angle of attack (AOA). This study was conducted to analyze the aerodynamics of the NACA 4412 semi inverse-tapper airfoil. The material is using PVC with an airfoil size (length 20 cm, a base chord 13.26 cm and a tip chord 12 cm) at wind speed 3 m/s, 5 m/s, 7 m/s, 9 m/s and 12 m/s. The test was performed by experimental method by using wind tunnel and simulation with solidwork application, the results of two methods are compared for analysis. The results of research show that more fast the wind speed that strikes the airfoil, more greater the value of lift force and drag force, this is directly proportional to the value of lift coefficient and drag coefficient, the best angle of attack for airfoil type NACA 4412 semi inverse-tapper form angular position angle of attack 5 ° at wind speed 3 m/s. Keywords : angel of attack, HAWT, NACA 4412, semi inverse-tapper

Abstract

Solar Energy Bank is an activity of the Community Service Student Creativity Program (PKM-PM) in collaboration with Ayo Berbagi (ABG) partners and given to 24 houses of Dusun Batu Ampar RT 04/RW 17 which still do not have access to the PLN electricity network so that lighting conditions at night are very poor. The purpose of this program is to implement the Solar Energy Bank as an alternative source of electrical energy for night lighting with emergency lights and Internet of Things (IoT) based monitoring systems. The program implementation method uses 3 implementation techniques, extension techniques through socialization, then science and technology assistance techniques include preparation and implementation activities, and the third is training and mentoring techniques. Benchmarks for the success of community services activities are measured by questionnaires given to society before and after implementation of the solar energy bank. Based on the result of the questionnaire, the implementation of the Solar Energy Bank has helped solve lighting problems, provided community service satisfaction and increased knowledge regarding the use of solar energy as an alternative energy source and skills in operating the Solar Energy Bank for the people of Dusun Batu Ampar RT 04/RW 17.

Abstract

Solar energy can be converted into electrical power through photovoltaic (PV) technology, commonly referred to as solar panels.  As a result, the implementation of a monitoring system is crucial to mitigate battery degradation caused by excessive discharging. This study employs a research and development (R&D) approach. The off-grid solar power monitoring system installed at SMPN 04 Tempurejo is designed to facilitate maintenance and enhance system reliability. By integrating Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the monitoring system allows for real-time tracking of voltage, current, and power output from the PV system via smartphone access, irrespective of location. Consequently, the IoT-based monitoring system significantly improves the management and oversight of the off-grid solar power system at SMPN 04 Tempurejo.

Abstract

The internet is a primary need for humans in the modern era today. The internet can be utilized for various fields, one of which is the economic field. This is in line with the innovation of the Internet Network in Blankspot Areas Using a 100 Watt Peak Photovoltaic System-Based Cellular Base Transceiver Station (BTS) for the Promotion of Nanggelan Beach Tourism, Jember. This design is a system design for utilizing the internet network using off-grid electrical energy in Jawala Village. The purpose of this community service is to assist the community in the economic field by utilizing Nanggelan Beach as the main object of promotion. The implementation methods in this service include socialization and creation of an Instagram account; tool fabrication, application, implementation, and tool handover; assistance and monitoring; training on tool usage and maintenance; creation of a partner guidebook; handover of the partner guidebook; completion of program outputs, and evaluation will be given in the form of a Google Form link as a suggestion box for evaluation. As for the result of this community service, the people of Jawala Village can promote Nanggelan Beach using Instagram. Tourists who will visit Nanggelan Beach will experience the internet from the results of this community service program.

Abstract

Arduino UNO R3 is one of the cheapest and easiest microcontroller boards that has great potential to be used as a basis for the measurement system. This study aims to develop measurement system of crude oil capacitance by using IDCs(Interdigital Capacitors). By knowing the value of crude oil capacitance, the crude oil permittivity value can be calculated. The crude oil permittivity value data is extremely needed in making crude oil heating systems using microwaves. The study used IDC sprinted on a PCB board with a copper layer as the electrode. Then, the system measurement results were compared with the results of PM 6303 RCL meter Phillip type A frequency measurement of 1 kHz which was used as reference data to determine the extent of measurement errors. From the results obtained, it is known that the error value of the Arduino UNO R3 based capacitance repeatability measurement is 0.47%. While the results of the linearity test measurement of crude oil capacitance measurement of temperature increases using the Arduino Uno-based IDCs sensor, the R2 value is 0.87. Thus it can be seen that the Arduino UNO R3-based capacitance measuring device has quite good sensor characteristics.

Abstract

 Public service is the right of every citizen that must be fulfilled because the state is obliged to provide a number of services to fulfill the basic rights of its citizens. One of the efforts to improve the quality of public services as contained in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 25 of 2000 concerning the National Development Program, all government agencies to conduct a survey on the community satisfaction index as a benchmark for assessing the level of service quality and the success of service delivery that has been implemented. done. This study aims to determine the level of satisfaction and performance of the Social Service for various types of services in the social sector based on the satisfaction index with the application of appropriate survey methods. In addition, this activity is also a way to take an inventory of various complaints and suggestions from the community. The survey results can be used as the basis for improving and improving the quality of services formulated in the follow-up plan or framework and policies by the Social Service. The study uses a quantitative approach and a qualitative approach. The quantitative approach uses the census method, while the qualitative approach uses in-depth interviews and observation methods. Respondents are people who receive public services in the social sector at the Social Service of Jember Regency. The variables used in the work of Compiling the Community Satisfaction Index (IKM) are the community's Perception and Expectation of the 9 elements of the community satisfaction index as stipulated in the PAN RB Ministerial Regulation Number 14 of 2017. The Community Satisfaction Index (IKM) value of total services the social sector in Jember Regency is 85.6 which is in category B with the quality of service performance is good.

Abstract

Closed-house broiler chicken farming enhances productivity and animal welfare by maintaining optimal environmental conditions. However, reliance on grid electricity for air control systems increases operational costs and environmental impact. This study investigates the implementation of a solar-powered air control system to regulate temperature, humidity, and ventilation in closed-house broiler farming. The system integrates photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, energy storage, and a smart control mechanism. The system's performance is evaluated based on energy consumption, solar energy generation, and environmental parameters. Results show the system effectively maintains optimal broiler growth conditions while reducing energy dependence. Energy savings of up to 10% are achieved, leading to lower operational costs and improved sustainability.The findings demonstrate the feasibility of solar-powered solutions in broiler farming, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing farm resilience. Future work will explore IoT integration for real-time monitoring and further energy optimization.
