Abstract

Palm print authentications have become extensive research in recent years.  Some research discussing palm print authentication emphasize on matching of two feature vectors of it. Problem faced by the research in this field is the sampling process. Different position of hand geometry results in different palm print image cause palm print to be unauthenticated. This research proposes an approach to solve the problem by first making image dimension using Multi-scale Wavelet Pyramid (MWP) to produce features represent palm print image. The next stage is feature matching by using Hamming Distance Similarity. Testing in several levels combination show that integration of level 1 and level 2 yields optimum feature. The evaluation result produce that MWP has faster and better performance accuracy up to 77.93% with threshold 4700.

Abstract

Abstract

Public service is the right of every citizen that must be fulfilled because the state is obliged to provide a number of services to fulfill the basic rights of its citizens. One of the efforts to improve the quality of public services as contained in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 25 of 2000 concerning the National Development Program, all government agencies to conduct a survey on the community satisfaction index as a benchmark for assessing the level of service quality and the success of service delivery that has been implemented. done. This study aims to determine the level of satisfaction and performance of the Social Service for various types of services in the social sector based on the satisfaction index with the application of appropriate survey methods. In addition, this activity is also a way to take an inventory of various complaints and suggestions from the community. The survey results can be used as the basis for improving and improving the quality of services formulated in the follow-up plan or framework and policies by the Social Service. The study uses a quantitative approach and a qualitative approach. The quantitative approach uses the census method, while the qualitative approach uses in-depth interviews and observation methods. Respondents are people who receive public services in the social sector at the Social Service of Jember Regency. The variables used in the work of Compiling the Community Satisfaction Index (IKM) are the community's Perception and Expectation of the 9 elements of the community satisfaction index as stipulated in the PAN RB Ministerial Regulation Number 14 of 2017. The Community Satisfaction Index (IKM) value of total services the social sector in Jember Regency is 85.6 which is in category B with the quality of service performance is good.

Abstract

Warehouse Quality Monitoring Information System (IS4AC) was developed to improve the monitoring of storage environmental conditions, especially related to temperature, humidity, and PH₃ levels, which have an impact on product quality. This study includes the collection of initial data from partners used for system design and modeling, followed by the development of a sensor-based application that allows real-time monitoring. The research methodology includes data collection, system design, application development, and testing and implementation in the laboratory and partner warehouse locations. The results of the study show that IS4AC is able to provide accurate and timely information, improve operational efficiency, and reduce the risk of product damage due to unmonitored environmental conditions. With this system, users can make better decisions in storage quality management. In conclusion, this study shows the significant potential of an automated monitoring system in improving warehouse management, as well as contributing to the development of adaptive technology in various industrial sectors.

Abstract

Stable storage conditions are required in Rice Seed Storage to preserve seed quality and suppress fungal contamination, yet many warehouse ventilation systems still rely on inefficient on-off operation with limited responsiveness to changing temperature and humidity conditions. This study addresses the lack of integrated IoT-VFD control with field-validated energy and microclimate performance in seed warehouses. It proposes an IoT-based Ventilation Control architecture that combines ESP32, MQTT communication, and a Variable Frequency Drive to regulate a three-phase exhaust fan in both offline and online operating modes. The novelty of this work lies in integrating variable-speed control, real-time supervision, and field-based performance validation within a single seed warehouse deployment. The prototype was implemented in a 900 m3 warehouse at Politeknik Negeri Jember and evaluated through a 7-day field trial with continuous monitoring of temperature, humidity, and motor speed. The controlled system brought warehouse conditions closer to the intended storage setpoints and produced statistically significant improvements in both temperature and humidity (p < 0.001). Control performance was stable, with high target-hit accuracy and low RMSE, while energy testing showed lower electricity consumption than conventional non-VFD operation. Over an equivalent 2-hour operating period, energy use was reduced by 30.4%. The system also maintained 99.64% MQTT uptime, and no mold incidence was observed during controlled operation. These findings indicate that the proposed IoT-VFD architecture is a practical approach for improving microclimate stability, reducing energy use, and supporting fungus-preventive seed warehouse management.

Abstract

The rapid growth of information and communication technology (ICT) has improved many aspects of community life, including access to information, productivity, and innovation. However, the widespread use of digital devices also increases energy consumption due to technological infrastructure and inefficient user behavior, such as leaving equipment powered on when not in use. While technological development can support energy efficiency, developing new energy systems requires complex research. Automation through the Internet of Things (IoT) offers a more practical solution for energy management. In the educational sector, the smart campus concept represents the digital transformation of campus infrastructure to improve operational efficiency and user comfort. This study aims to design and implement a practical, localized, secure, highly interconnected, and scalable monitoring and control system for lights and air conditioners within a campus environment. The system was developed by reviewing previous studies, evaluating available hardware, selecting appropriate network architectures and communication protocols, implementing IoT devices, and integrating them with a server platform. The system utilizes Zigbee communication and a local MQTT broker with authentication to ensure secure and reliable connectivity. Using devices from multiple manufacturers enables interoperability and vendor independence, while scalability is achieved through simple device installation and pairing. Experimental results show reliable performance with response times of 1–3 seconds without errors. Automation features allow lights and air conditioners to activate before working hours and turn off automatically at night if left on, improving energy efficiency and convenience in a smart campus environment.
