Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media in the form of an intelligent fuel system simulator, namely electronic fuel injection (EFI) on motorbikes, which focuses on developing the addition of Quick Response (QR) codes as additional information from the simulator, which is connected to video on the YouTube platform. With the help of the QR code, it is scanned using a smartphone so that the QR code can be connected directly to YouTube, providing additional information about the Smart simulator EFI system on motorbikes. This research was carried out by applying the Research and Development method and following the Plomp model, which consists of the following stages: (1) preliminary investigation, (2) designing and making a prototype, and (3) assessment. The existing simulator was developed by adding a QR code, and the QR code will be connected to videos that have been uploaded on the YouTube platform. QR codes are created using the online QR code generator platform. Assessment of the smart simulator is carried out through a questionnaire filled out by media experts and subject experts, as well as through observation sheets during smart simulator testing. The research results are a smart simulator product for EFI fuel on motorbikes equipped with a QR code. Evaluation by media and material experts shows that the smart simulator is declared valid. Meanwhile, the results of observations during product testing show that the smart simulator can describe the characteristics of the EFI fuel system on a motorbike according to the actual situation.

Abstract

MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) is a type of inventory to maintain the smooth production process. The large number of spare parts to be managed and their lumpy usage patterns are a challenge in the procurement process. This research aims to determine the classification and procurement strategy for each spare parts classification group in PT. Semen Padang. The classification method used is MUSIC-3D which consists of ABC, FNS and SDE. This classification produces 27 spare parts groups which are mapped into Kraljic's Matrix. From the mapping results, the 27 groups are spread into four quadrants. Strategic Quadrant with recommendations for partnership contract types and long-term relationships, Leverage Quadrant with recommendations for partnership or call of contract types and short-term relationships, Bottleneck Quadrant with recommendations for call of contract types and short-term relationships, Non-Critical Quadrant with recommendations for spotting purchase in the purchasing process.

Abstract

The scheduling of electrical energy usage during Peak Load Period (PLP) is a complicated problem that has been faced by PT Semen Padang after Indonesian Power Company (PLN) implemented the demarcation regulation of electrical energy usage during PLP (6:00 – 10:00 p.m.) which may not exceed 44.100 kWH. This regulation forces Production Department of PT Semen Padang to arrange the “on (1) or off (0)” schedule for the Raw Mills and Cement Mills during PLP. A Raw Mill or Cement Mill can be switched-off if the specified criteria are satisfied. Those criteria refer to the achievement of daily production targets, silo content at PLP, and the requirement for particular Raw Mill or Cement Mill to be off during those 4 hours of PLP. Meanwhile, the constraints are related to the length of machining hours of Raw Mill, Kiln or Cement Mill before preventive maintenance takes place. To solve this problem, a scheduling model for Raw Mills and Cement Mills on-off during PLP is then developed using a linear programming approach. The decision variables are the “on-off” state of Raw Mills and Cement Mills during PLP, while the objective function is to minimize the penalty expense of energy used during PLP. The developed scheduling model has the ability to solve the problem of the “on-off” assignment for Raw Mills and Cement Mills from Indarung II to Indarung V. This scheduling model can decrease the penalty of electrical energy expense during PLP from Rp. 3.07 billion to Rp. 1.79 billion.

Abstract

PT. Enseval Putera Megatrading is a company which operates in general business and distribution of pharmacy products, general needs, cosmetics, foods and hospital equipment. In their current practice, routing in products deliveries, which is limited by time windows, has not considered the utilization of vehicles' maximum loading capacities. Distribution route from a hybrid algorithm using heuristic clustering and Mixed-Integer Linear Programming approach can accommodate such problem with time windows and vehicles' capacities utilization. Based on the comparison between company’s current route and the route from the hybrid algorithm, it can be seen that the hybrid algorithm is able to decrease total distance and total cost of transportation. This new route concerns on vehicles allocation and time windows limit. This new route can minimize the total cost of transportation that company has to pay.

Abstract

Determining the route of distribution of goods for companies is an important aspect to consider. The distribution of 3 kg LPG gas at one of the companies in Bandung City does not yet have an optimal route. However, in previous research, a shorter route has been obtained with the Sweep algorithm, which is 118.85 km. The research continued using the Cluster Generalized Vehicle Routing Problem (CGVRP) model with the Dijkstra and Genetics algorithms. CGVRP is the determination of the shortest route using customer clusters. Dijkstra's algorithm is the determination of the route between 2 points from the starting point to the destination point. The result of the distance calculation with the Djkstraa algoritma is 114.779 km. Genetic Algorithm is the determination of the shortest route by reducing the attributes that are less dominant. The result of the distance calculating with Genetic Algorithm is 112 km. This shows a reduction in the total distribution mileage of 6.85 km compared to the completion of the Sweep algorithm in previous studies. The amount of this reduction is large enough to save the company's costs by 5.76%.
