Abstract

The development of the Mendong Craft Agro-Industry Center in Malang Regency has experienced several obstacles, including inadequate infrastructure conditions, low training capacity, the dominance of middlemen, non-functioning institutions, and low specialization and competitiveness of the center. This research aimed to identify characteristics and factors that influence development using multivariate factor analysis, develop concepts and strategies using SWOT and IFAS-EFAS analysis, and develop development directions (physical-spatial) for the Mendong Crafts agro-industry center, Malang Regency. The Mendong Crafts agro-industry center in Malang Regency has the characteristics of local economic development except for organizational structure, RD, legal entities, and collaboration with capital institutions. The characteristics of clusters are spatial proximity, interaction, combination of competencies, and identity.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the relationship between the subsidized fertilizer distribution mechanism and the success of farmers in adopting fertilization technology. This study used a descriptive method approach—data retrieval techniques using interviews, documentation, and observation. The mechanism for distributing subsidized fertilizers in Purwoasri Village, Singosari District  According to the results of the recapitulation of the subsidy fertilizer distribution mechanism, researchers explained that the distribution mechanism and technology adoption with the following percentages: subsidized fertilizer distribution mechanism 74%, the role of agricultural extension workers 76%, the role of farmer groups 79%, meaning that the distribution mechanism has been successfully carried out well, such as extension workers helping and guiding farmers in the preparation of RDKK (Plan Definitive Group Needs). Meanwhile, the adoption of 70% fertilization technology means that extension workers and farmers complement each other and work together to achieve the success of farmers in the successful adoption of fertilization technology in Purwoasri Village.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of agricultural extension for the shallot commodity in the Barokah Jaya farmer group in Beji Village, Junrejo District, Batu City. This research used a scoring system or score scale and administration technique. Training, guidance, and evaluation are the success metrics used in this research. The results show that the shallot farming extension activities of the Barokah Jaya Farmers Group can be assessed as effective by percentage. According to the operation of implementing extension training, which has a success rate of 79%, they are considered very successful. Implementing the support provided to farmers by extension workers was considered successful with a percentage of 70.5%. Implement training provided to farmers by extension workers, with a proportion of 63.5%. The evaluation procedure was assessed as successful in 69% of cases. This makes it possible to guarantee the success and satisfaction of shallot farming extension efforts in Beji Village.
