Abstract

Background: Serum is a preparation with high concentration of active substance and low viscosity which gives a more comfortable effect and spreads easily on the skin surface. Cucumber is a member of the cucurbitaceae family and can be a source of natural antioksidants because it contains vitamin C and flavonoids which are free to break free radikcal reactions and can restore electrons to unstable cells. Objective: This study aims ti determine the formulation of cucumber extrack in the form of facial serum and to determine the stability of cucumber extrack serum through organoleptic tests, gomogeneity tests, pH tests, and dispersibility tests. Methods: This study uses an action reseach design (action reseach) and uses the concept according to Kurt Lewin which consists of 4 components namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Serum preparations are made with the main ingredients of cucumber (Cucumis Sativus L.), xhantan gum methyl paraben, butylene glycol, and aquadest with different concetrations of preservatives. Results: The results of the organoleptic test for 21 days of serum preparation with storage at room temperature, the positive control and F1 resulted in a preparation with good stability, and the negative control and F2 there was a change in aroma, shape and fungus began to appear on the 6th day. Conclusion: The serum preparation is relatively stable during the storage is the first formula with a pH of 6,69 above the standard pH (4,5-6,5) which is not safe for skin use.

Abstract

Background: Chinese petai is a plant that is considered not to have any properties. But actually has many health benefits. There are many solid soap preparations that contain Chinese petai leaves but the aroma is lacking so it needs to be developed by adding additional aromas to increase attractiveness. Objective: This study aims to make a solid soap formula based on Chinese petai leaf extract, lemongrass extract and pandan extract which is stable in organoleptic storage. Methods: The design of this research is action research that aims to solve a problem by using processes such as planning, action, observation, and reflection. This study used Chinese petai leaf extract, lemongrass extract and pandan leaf extract obtained by the maceration method. Solid soap preparations were made with various formulas, including F1 without the addition of pandan extract, F2 with the addition of 1% pandan extract, F3 with the addition of 2% pandan extract. Results: The results of the organoleptic study showed no changes in either F1, F2 and F3. In the observation of the pH test, pH 7 was obtained for the three formulas. The drying shrinkage test also obtained results that met the simplicia standard. Meanwhile, for the preference test, it was found that F2 was the most popular formula in terms of color 55%, aroma 45%, and form 100%. Conclusion: The conclusion from this study is that the solid soap preparation is stable for 3 weeks of storage and the preference test shows that F2 with the addition of 1% pandan extract is more preferred by the respondents

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Stunting merupakan salah satu masalah gizi global, termasuk di Indonesia. Setiap ibu menyusui akan mengupayakan berbagai cara agar dapat menyusui anaknya dengan lancar, termasuk menggunakan pendekatan alternatif dengan mengonsumsi bahan herbal sesuai tradisi dan pengalaman secara empiris seperti biji klabet yang berpotensi sebagai galaktagogum dalam peningkatan jumlah ASI melalui perangsangan aktivitas protoplasma sel-sel sekretoris kelenjar air susu, namun begitu evaluasi ilmiah terkait profil secara farmakognostik belum banyak ditemukan dengan mengacu sesuai acuan standar WHO Guidelines dan Farmakope Herbal Indonesia sehingga mendorong untuk mendapatkan informasi lebih lanjut. Tujuan Penelitian: Mendokumentasikan dan membandingkan data secara organoleptik, morfologi, maupun anatomi yang memberi wawasan tentang potensi biji labet sebagai produk herbal untuk meningkatkan kuantitas ASI melalui pengamatan karakteristik terhadap tumbuhan yang dianalisis. Metode Penelitian: Metode penelitian deskriptif yang dilakukan di laboratorium melalui pemeriksaan bentuk sel dan jaringan tumbuhan, pengamatan bentuk fisik serta pemeriksaan menggunakan panca indra dari bagian tumbuhan yang masih segar dari tumbuhan Klabet (Trigonella foenum-graecum L) sehingga bisa memberikan hasil data analisis farmakognostik. Hasil: Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengamatan secara organoleptik dan morfologi biji klabet memiliki bentuk belah ketupat, warna coklat, aroma khas rempah, rasa agak pahit dan tekstur keras. Sementara pada pengamatan anatomi menggunakan mikroskop diperoleh fragmen pengenal berupa kulit biji, epidermis luar, epidermis dalam, endosperm, sklerenkim dan bulir pati. Kesimpulan: Biji klabet yang diteliti telah sesuai secara organoleptik, morfologi, dan anatomi dengan mengacu pada literatur Materia Medika pada Studi Farmakognostik Biji Klabet (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.).
