Abstract

Background: There are many studies explore the effectiveness and efficacy of yellow root, but while for phytochemical screening with decoction method and making of product has still little bit. Empirical yellow root is usually drunk in fresh condition, immediately after boiled, but cause of the bitter taste it needs to be covered by sweet taste and made product that can be last long. Options of honey for this research is intended to increase the taste of product that can be consumed in maintain health. Objective: This research is aimed to determine secondary metabolite content by decoction method, to make yellow root product and know the stability of yellow root product. Method: The yellow root research design used in this study is decoction method, tested the content of secondary metabolite, then added honey and tested organoleptis for 14 days. Conclusion: The results of phytochemical screening using decoction method showed that the yellow root extract contained alkaloids and saponins, and the stability test results showed more durable yellow wood extract plus honey.

Abstract

Background: Acne is a skin problem that almost struck any person, however, the use of skin care products containing chemicals can not be avoided. Objective: This study aims to make dosage cold powder and determine the stability of the dosage cold powder of sweet corn (Zea mays Sacharata) and rice (Oryza sativa L.) for 3 weeks. Method: This study uses action research design testing the formulation of two different solvents. Result: The results showed that the samples with the solvents distilled water there is no change in color, scent as well as stable in the storage period of three weeks. The results of pH testing meet the requirements of the pH to the face is 4-6. As for dosage forms with solvents of rose water containing oleum rosae tend to be more moist because it contains oil which is harder to evaporate so that changes in color, odor, pH and appear fungus. Conclusion: From the results of the study concluded that the manufacture of dosage forms with the solvents distilled water is stable, no color change, scent trademark, pH stable and not found the mushrooms during storage for three weeks. It is recommended to do more research with the drying time is longer.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to make a preparation of tea bags of bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum) with the rhizome of red ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc. Var. Rubrum) to reduce uric acid levels easy and is practically consumed by the public. Methods: This research uses action research method to use research instrument in the form of interview sheet, observation sheet and questionnaire test preferences. Dosage is made by comparison between the composition of leaves : red ginger (to 2.5:1, 2,5:1,5 and 2,5:2). Results: The result showed shrinkage of drying of bay leaves as much as 3.2% and ginger red 5% this is in accordance with the requirements of the crude drug i.e. a water content of less than 10%. Viewed in organoleptic dosage tea bag leaves resistant and stable during 3 weeks of storage with the proportions of the formula the most preferred respondents is a formula 3 with the addition of red ginger as much as 2 grams is 96,67%. Conclusion: The Preparation of tea bag favored by the public, namely the formula of the third with the addition of red ginger 2 grams and the dosage is stable in storage for 3 weeks at room temperature.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Panu merupakan penyakit kulit yang dapat diobati dengan bahan alam, salah satunya dengan daun ketepeng cina yang biasa digunakan oleh masyarakat Desa Blanakan. Sayangnya, belum ada sediaan alami yang praktis dan awet dalam penyimpanannya. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara pembuatan sediaan gel dari daun ketepeng cina dengan basis gel daun lidah buaya dan untuk mengetahui formulasi yang stabil berdasarkan uji stabilitas fisik pada suhu kamar (15-30oC) dan suhu dingin (± 4oC). Metode: Desain penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan dengan instrumen penelitian berupa studi pustaka dan lembar pengamatan. Sediaan dibuat dari serbuk simplisia daun ketepeng cina dan gel lidah buaya dengan komposisi F I (0,5 gram, 5 gram), F II (0,5 gram, 10 gram), dan F III (0,5 gram, 15 gram). Hasil: Formula terbaik sesaat setelah proses pembuatan dilihat berdasarkan uji organoleptik adalah F I. Berdasarkan uji stabilitas fisik, sediaan yang stabil secara pH dan organoleptik adalah FI yang disimpan pada suhu dingin (± 4oC) dengan perubahan pH dari 6-4, perubahan bau khas simplisia daun ketepeng menjadi khas lidah buaya, warna hijau coklat pekat, tekstur licin, bentuk semi solid, dan dapat bertahan selama 8 hari. Adapun sediaan yang memenuhi kriteria daya sebar adalah FII yang disimpan pada suhu kamar (15-30oC). Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan uji pH dan organleptik, formula yang cukup stabil adalah F I dengan 0,5 gram serbuk simplisia dan 5 gram gel lidah buaya sedangkan sediaan yang memenuhi kriteria daya sebar adalah FII yang disimpan pada suhu kamar (15-30oC).

Abstract

Background: Everyone has suffered from skin dryness, itching, scaling and redness due to various causes. Xerosis cutis dry skin or a skin disorder where the skin becomes rough, scaly, wrinkled and less elastic than normal and dry skin on palpation. The prevalence of xerosis in Indonesia is 50% -80%, while in some other countries such as Brazil, Australia, Turkey, and others are 35% -70%. Caring for the skin on a regular basis can be done using traditional scrubs from natural materials. The use of papaya seeds usually just thrown or planted or used as seed for cultivation, when in fact the papaya seeds can be processed into a useful preparation. Papaya seeds rich in benefits for the skin. In addition to dry skin treatment can also be done using soy beans and olive oil. Objective: Create and test the stability of the preparation is organoleptic and pH in the preparation of traditional herbal powders for dry skin from the seeds of papaya (Carica papaya L) and starch soybean (Glycine max L) with olive oil as an aroma enhancer. Methods: This study was action research or action research with the observation sheet instruments. Testing the stability of traditional powder herbal preparation made for 3 weeks at cool temperature of 100C and 250C room temperature. Result: Indicates that the preparation of traditional herbal papaya seed powder and soy starch stored at a cool temperature of 100C has the organoleptic stability of shape, smell, color and absence of fungi and have a pH that is better than the room temperature storage at 250C. Conclusion: This study provides results and good stability for 3 weeks. It is expected that further research can do the testing other than organoleptic test and pH with different dosage forms of the ingredients of papaya seeds and soybeans.

Abstract

Background: Breastmilk is an emulsion of fat in a solution of protein, lactose and organic salts secreted by the mother's breast glands as the baby's main food. Currently, many mothers give breast milk for less than six months due to several factors such as sick babies, tired work and stress, so that milk production is not smooth and others. Papaya leaves contain several important nutrients, several studies have been conducted, Entin (2002) proved that katuk leaves, bitter melon leaves, and papaya leaves are complementary plants which are traditional plants and have the potential to increase breast milk production4. Mung beans also contain active compounds, namely polyphenols and flavonoids which function to increase breast milk production hormones. organoleptic tests for three weeks using papaya (Carica papaya L.) and green beans (Vigna radiata L.) to facilitate the production of breast milk (ASI) by making it easy and practical. Methods: This study used an action research design. Preparations with different sugar formulations, namely F1 5 grams of papaya leaves, 41.6 grams of green beans, 60 grams of sugar. F2 5 grams of papaya leaves, 41.6 grams of green beans, 90 grams of sugar. And F3 5 grams of papaya leaves, 41.6 grams of green beans, 120 grams of sugar. Samples are stored in the same storage, namely at room temperature 20-250C. Results: It showed that the papaya and green bean instant powder drink dosage stored at room temperature 20-250C had organoleptic stability of shape, odor, and color. Conclusion: From the results of the organicoleptic test, 3 preparations with slightly different tastes were produced, one of which has a better taste, namely the taste is not too sweet and not too bitter. This preparation can last for three weeks with a relatively unchanged physical condition.

Abstract

Background: In the market, more and more food products are rich in antioxidant compounds, but red dragon fruit peel (Hylocereus costaricensis cortex) which is considered as waste contains high levels of antioxidants. Tomato fruit (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill) has very strong antioxidant activity because it contains lycopene which is the main pigment in tomatoes. Purpose: This study aims to make a combination sheet jam preparation of tomatoes and dragon fruit peel as an antioxidant-rich supplement that is easy to safe, practical and healthy for public consumption. Methods: The research method used is action research using research instruments in the form of an organoleptic test sheet and a preference test. Preparations made with the composition ratio of tomatoes and red dragon fruit skin, each formula is 100 grams of tomatoes :100 grams of red dragon fruit skin and a variety of sweeteners for F I as much as 40 grams, for F II as much as 50 grams and sweetener for F III as much as 60 grams. Results: The results of the organoleptic test at room temperature (15-30oC) showed that there was a change from day 6 to day 21, while the organoleptic test results at cold temperatures (± 4oC) had no change from day 1. Until the 21st day, the result of the favorite sheet jam test was formula 2, which was 86.6%. Conclusion: The conclusion that can be obtained is the result of the best composition variation is formula II with the number of tomatoes and dragon fruit skin is 1: 1 with added sugar as much as 50 grams. This is because the physical stability is good, namely organoleptic color, smell, taste, stable form does not have many fungi.

Abstract

Background: Traditional scrubs are cosmetic preparations originating from fresh natural ingredients or dried materials. As the "back to nature" understanding is an increase in the demand for natural ingredients of cosmetics containing high antioxidants, one of which is the kelor leaf with tannin content with the addition of black sticky rice flour and lime skin as an additional material on traditional scrubs. Research Objectives: Make traditional scrub preparations from Moringa leaves and black sticky rice flour with the addition of lime leather, and make a stable preparation through organoleptic testing and knowing the favorite test. Method: Using action research design (Action Research) to identify and find solutions from a problem studied. The research flow starts from planning, action, observation and reflection (repairs). The independent variables of this study are melor leaves and black sticky rice flour with as many as the edge of lime (1.3g: 2g: 6g); (1.3g: 2g: 7g) and (1.3g: 2g: 8g) with different storage temperature observations. The dependent variable is the physical properties of traditional scrubs seen from the color, aroma and texture and the favorite of panelists. Data collection uses the observation method for organoleptic tests carried out by 20 panelists. Results: The results of the study showed organoleptic traditional stable dosage for 3 weeks of storage. And the results of the three formulations of the formulation, obtained by the most preferred F3 in storage at cold temperatures with a composition of the 1.3g Moringa leaf composition, 2G black sticky rice flour & Lime Limit 8G with lime scented criteria, brownish green, the scrub is easily removed when rubbed , re-textured and can lift dirt on the surface of the skin). Conclusion: The results of organoleptic testing and the preference test carried out in the three formulations can be said to be stable.

Abstract

Background: Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill) is a natural source of antioxidants. Tomatoes are rich in vitamins A and C, beta-carotene, potassium and the antioxidant lycopene. Apart from tomatoes, cinnamon also has antioxidant properties. The use of tomatoes and cinnamon directly on the skin is considered ineffective, so it needs to be formulated in serum. Objective: This research to determine how to make tomato and cinnamon serum and  to determine the stability of the serum seen from the organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH stability test and preference test. Methods: This research uses action research method (Action Research). The preparation is made with a composition of tomato juice extract and cinnamon extract with a ratio of 3 grams: 0.5 grams and the addition of 1 gram of xanthan gum for F1, 1.2 grams for F2, 1.4 grams for F3. Results: The Results of the organoleptic tests which have been performed showed the presence of changes on the 6th day until the 21st. The pH stability results obtained from 3 serum samples showed that at week 2 there was a change in pH in the preparations stored at room temperature (15-30 ° C). The result of the serum preference test for texture of as much 93.3% in formula 1. the colors of serum 97% in formula 1 and fragrance of as 83.3% in formula 2. Conclusion: the Results of organoleptic test and test favorite formula featured is F1, while the results of the third homogeneity test were stored for 3 weeks in a homogeneous state. The pH test results are still within the skin pH.

Abstract

Background: Chinese petai is a plant that is considered not to have any properties. But actually has many health benefits. There are many solid soap preparations that contain Chinese petai leaves but the aroma is lacking so it needs to be developed by adding additional aromas to increase attractiveness. Objective: This study aims to make a solid soap formula based on Chinese petai leaf extract, lemongrass extract and pandan extract which is stable in organoleptic storage. Methods: The design of this research is action research that aims to solve a problem by using processes such as planning, action, observation, and reflection. This study used Chinese petai leaf extract, lemongrass extract and pandan leaf extract obtained by the maceration method. Solid soap preparations were made with various formulas, including F1 without the addition of pandan extract, F2 with the addition of 1% pandan extract, F3 with the addition of 2% pandan extract. Results: The results of the organoleptic study showed no changes in either F1, F2 and F3. In the observation of the pH test, pH 7 was obtained for the three formulas. The drying shrinkage test also obtained results that met the simplicia standard. Meanwhile, for the preference test, it was found that F2 was the most popular formula in terms of color 55%, aroma 45%, and form 100%. Conclusion: The conclusion from this study is that the solid soap preparation is stable for 3 weeks of storage and the preference test shows that F2 with the addition of 1% pandan extract is more preferred by the respondents
