Abstract

Critical thinking skills for elementary school students are very important to face challenges in the era of globalization. This study aimed to determine: 1) critical thinking skills of elementary school students in social studies learning, 2) supporting and inhibiting factors that influence teachers in developing critical thinking of elementary school students in social studies learning, 3) what efforts can be made by teachers in developing students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning. This study used a qualitative approach with research techniques using literature studies. The occurrence of the Corona Virus 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak and the enactment of social and physical distancing became obstacles for researchers because they could not research directly into the field. The data used were secondary data obtained from books, articles, journals, previous research, as well as data that researchers obtain from the internet in accordance with the research problem being studied by the researcher. The results showed that: 1) students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning are still lacking, 2) 2013 curriculum is a supporting factor for teachers in developing critical thinking, and the inhibiting factor is the use of the lecture method which is continuously used without innovation, 3) efforts that can be made teachers to improve critical thinking in the classroom can use several methods, namely: cooperative learning methods are proven to improve students' critical thinking skills, including the TPS method (Think-Pair-Share), scientific approach, social inquiry, problem-based and or project-based learning, collaborative or cooperative and active-participatory methods, increasing interaction between students, asking open-ended questions or innovative questions that can trigger students' thinking skills.

Abstract

In this digital era, many jobs use management information systems, especially in terms of education. Teachers must be able to balance between technology and education. But now there are still many teachers who are minimal in using technology. This study aims to determine the effect of management information systems on teacher performance at Madrasah Aliyah Nahdlatul Ulama Tasikmalaya. The method in this study is a survey method with a quantitative approach that is descriptive and associative. The number of samples is 25 respondents. For the technique of analysis the data used regression. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between management information systems (X) and teacher performance (Y) at Madrasah Aliyah Nahdlatul Ulama Tasikmalaya. This is evidenced by the r count of 0.866 while the r table at a significant level of 5% is 0.404. This means that the hypothesis is accepted that there is a significant positive effect of management information systems (X) on teacher performance (Y). While the calculation results of the coefficient of determination is 74.9%. This means that the management information system contributes 74.9% to teacher performance and 25.1% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

Teaching and education staff management must be implemented as optimally as possible because it will have an impact on the quality of education, such as implementation of educational administration well. The aim of this research is to find out: the management of teaching and educational staff, quality of education, and the magnitude of the influence of the administration of teaching and education staff on improving the quality of education at MTs. K.H A Wahab Muhsin Sukahideng Tasikmalaya Regency. Management of teaching and educational staff consist of planning, recruitment and placement, coaching and development, performance assessment, compensation and dismissal. Meanwhile, the quality of education consists of parental support, quality of education, student commitment, school leadership, quality of learning, resource management at school and school comfort. The research method used was a survey method with a quantitative approach using 54 respondents. Data collection techniques use documentation, questionnaires, interviews and observation. Data analysis uses validity tests, reliability tests, correlation, regression, coefficient of determination and non-determination coefficient. The results of the research show that the management of teaching and educational staff (X) is in the very good category with a mean of 4.379 and the quality of education (Y) is in the very good category with a mean of 4.360. The correlation result of the management of teaching and educational staff on the quality of education is 0.377, which is in the low category. . The regression results of the management of teaching staff and education on the quality of education is 0.377, which is greater than the rtable 0.279 and the significance level is 0.005. This means that there is a positive and significant influence between the management of teaching staff and education (X) and the quality of education (Y). Meanwhile, the calculation result of the coefficient of determination is 14% for the quality of education. 86% is influenced by other variables not examined in this research.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education is important, one of which is by managing all educational resources to produce appropriate educational services. The provision of education today is more of a mass classical nature which is quantity oriented which causes the individual needs of students outside of the normal student group to not be accommodated. Implementing an acceleration program can be an effort to accommodate students' needs according to their potential and talents. This research aims to determine the application of the acceleration program in improving the quality of education at MA PK Al-Amin, Tasikmalaya City. This research uses a qualitative approach with data analysis techniques consisting of data reduction, data display and data verification. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the acceleration program at MA PK Al-Amin is running quite optimally and has an impact on improving the quality of education, namely: 1) the acceleration program at MA PK Al-Amin Tasikmalaya City is running quite optimally through (a) identification of talented children with written tests, oral tests, and interviews, (b) determination of handling strategies with superior programs, (c) development of educational programs with selection of majors and universities, (d) educational services through continued assistance, (e) building and developing learning resources in preparation for learning. (2) The quality of education is implemented with 8 supporting factors, namely (a) input (input, intake) of educators and students, (b) curriculum with an accelerated learning system, (c) potential educators/teachers, (d) complete facilities and infrastructure, (e) adequate funds, (f) flexible and realistic management, (g) supportive environment, (h) quality teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Marketing management is crucial in maintaining the existence of educational institutions. Branding image as a marketing activity aims to introduce and display the distinctive characteristics as the identity of a product or service to the general public. By building a branding image to create a positive image, this can improve the quality of educational institutions. The aim of this research is to analyze and describe branding image strategies in improving the quality of education at SMKS NU Tasikmalaya City. The research method used is field research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation and verification. The research results show that the branding image strategy that is built is through: 1) Brand identity, by highlighting the brand of Aswaja schools, technology schools, low-cost schools. 2) Brand positioning, by upholding the values of Ahlussunnah Wal Jama'ah An-Nahdliyah, conveying the school's aim as community service through the modern education sector, and aspiring to produce graduates who excel in Aswaja and in the IT field. Forming a logo with a philosophy rich in Islamic values. It has the tagline: small, beautiful, powerful and has the song Hubbul Wathon and the IPNU IPPNU march. 3) Brand personality, by referring to the values of Ahlussunnah Wal Jama'ah An-Nahdliyah as well as positive Islamic character that is instilled in daily practice. As for improving quality through: 1) Quality Planning, with deliberations and discussion meetings with the school committee, deputy principals, and parents; designing and creating learning programs; make a financing budget plan for the program that has been formed; and carry out the main tasks and functions that have been determined in accordance with the analysis of customer needs in the program. 2) Quality Control, by carrying out monitoring and evaluation. 3) Quality Improvement, by maximally increasing the quality and capacity of human resources and infrastructure according to current developments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the performance of education personnel based on their duties and functions. The research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the study found that: 1) administration in the school consists of student administration, personnel administration, and financial administration. The education personnel work together to smooth the school administration even though they are not from a linear educational background; 2) administrative management is not yet optimal as seen from the fact that an annual program has not been made in each section; 3) development can be seen from the inputting/archiving of data from manually switched to digital; 4) supervision done by the head of the administrative office as a daily supervisor, the school principal once a month, and by the school supervisor during monitoring and evaluation and PKKM / S; and 5) services are provided to internal parties such as principals, teachers, and students as well as external services to the community and parents of students related to academic and non-academic matters.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas kinerja tenaga kependidikan berbasis tupoksinya. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan yaitu: 1) pengadministrasian di sekolah terdiri dari bagian administrasi kesiswaan, administrasi kepegawaian, dan administrasi keuangan. Para tenaga kependidikan melakukan kerja sama untuk kelancaran administrasi sekolah meskipun mereka bukan dari latar belakang pendidikan yang linear; 2) pengelolaan administrasi belum optimal terlihat dari belum dibuatnya program tahunan pada masing-masing bagian; 3) pengembangan terlihat dari penginputan/pengarsipan data yang semula secara manual beralih ke digital; 4) pengawasan dilakukan oleh kepala TU sebagai pengawas harian, kepala sekolah dilakukan satu bulan sekali, dan oleh pengawas sekolah ketika monev dan PKKM/S; dan 5) pelayanan diberikan kepada pihak internal seperti kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa serta layanan eksternal kepada masyarakat dan orang tua/wali siswa berkaitan dengan hal akademik maupun non akademik.

Abstract

An organization must always maintain its existence in order to survive. This is important because it is undeniable that there is competition between one organization and another. Thus, good management is needed for its management which includes planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. By carrying out these management functions properly, it is certain that an organization will maintain its existence. In fact, it is possible for these organizations to get bigger, one of which is the IPNU and IPPNU organizations which are one of the NU committees. Therefore, this study aims to find out how management functions are implemented at IPPNU and IPPNU Tasikmalaya City. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out using observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the data obtained, it is then analyzed to draw conclusions. The results of this study indicate that planning was carried out by IPNU and IPPNU by making short-term planning (carried out 4 times in solemn times), medium-term (carried out 2 times in solemn times), and long-term (1 time in solemn times). In addition, each department makes its own program. The organizing function is carried out by making the organizational structure and duties of each department. Existing departments or secretaries are tailored to the needs of the organization. Meanwhile, the movement function is carried out with the realization of several activities as cadre activities as well as intellectual development. Realization of activities consists of formal activities such as MAKESTA, LAKMUD, and LAKUT, and non-formal activities namely LATPEL and LATIN which function to deepen material in formal regeneration and train members' abilities. Oversight of IPNU and IPPNU is carried out, although not optimal, namely by holding routine monthly, quarterly or evaluation meetings to check the conformity between what is planned and what is realized.Suatu organisasi harus senantiasa dijaga eksistensinya supaya tetap survive. Hal ini menjadi penting karena tidak dapat dipungkiri terdapat persaingan antara organisasi yang satu dengan organisasi lainnya. Dengan demikian, perlu manajemen yang baik untuk pengelolaannya yang meliputi perencanaan, pengorganisasian, penggerakkan, dan pengawasan. Dengan melaksanakan fungsi-fungsi manajemen tersebut dengan baik, maka dapat suatu organisasi akan tetap terjaga eksistensinya. Bahkan, memungkinkan organisasi tersebut akan semakin besar, salah satunya organisasi IPNU dan IPPNU yang merupakan salah satu banom NU. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan fungsi-fungsi manajemen di IPPNU dan IPPNU Kota Tasikmalaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh tersebut kemudian dianalisis untuk diambil kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan yang dilakukan IPNU dan IPPNU dengan membuat perencanaan jangka pendek (dilaksanakan 4 kali dalam masa khidmat), jangka menengah (dilaksanakan 2 kali dalam masa khidmat), dan jangka panjang (1 kali dalam masa khidmat). Selain itu, setiap departeman membuat programnya masing-masing. Fungsi pengorganisasian dilakukan dengan dibuatnya struktur organisasi dan tupoksi masing-masing departeman. Departemen atau sekbid yang ada disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan organisasi. Sementara, fungsi pergerakan dilakukan dengan realisasi beberapa kegiatan sebagai kegiatan kaderisasi sekaligus meningkatkan intelektual. Realisasi kegiatan terdiri dari kegiatan formal seperti MAKESTA, LAKMUD, dan LAKUT, dan nonformal yaitu LATPEL dan LATIN yang berfungsi untuk memperdalam materi di dalam kaderisasi formal dan melatih kemampuan anggota. Pengawasan IPNU dan IPPNU terlaksana meskipun belum optimal yaitu dengan melakukan rapat rutin bulanan, triwulan, atau rapat evaluasi untuk mengecek kesesuaian antara apa yang direncanakan dengan realisasi

Abstract

Professional educators contribute to creating quality institutions. To produce professional educators, effective and efficient management is needed. The purpose of this research is to determine the management of teaching staff, the quality of institutions, and the relationship between management of teaching staff in improving the quality of institutions at Al-Khoeriyah Cibeureum Vocational School, Tasikmalaya City. Management of teaching staff is reviewed based on planning, procurement, development guidance, transfer promotion, dismissal, compensation and awards. Meanwhile, the quality of the institution is reviewed based on input, process, output and outcome aspects. The approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this research are: 1) management of teaching staff at Al-Khoeriyah Vocational School consists of: a. Planning, formulating positions and then carrying out the recruitment process. b. Procurement, through a selection and placement process according to qualifications. c. Development coaching is carried out to improve the professionalism of educators. d. Promotion of transfers, providing updates in duties and positions. e. Dismissal at the request of the elderly. f. Compensation and awards are given according to the educator's performance. 2) the quality of the institution consisting of: a. Input by planning learning programs, student acceptance. b. The process of implementing learning. c. Output, the result of the process. d. Outcome, graduates who work or continue their education. 3) Carrying out management stages for teaching staff has an impact on improving school quality which is visible in school outcomes.

Abstract

The curriculum is the heart of education that needs to be implemented in educational institutions as optimally as possible because it has an impact on student learning outcomes. Optimal learning outcomes are in essence related to the curriculum used, including skills programs that equip students with skills that are tailored to their interests and abilities, as well as life coaching in the form of expertise or skills for students when they leave educational institutions. This study aims to determine the implementation of the skills curriculum, student competence and how much influence the implementation of the skills curriculum has on student competence. The method used is a survey method with a quantitative approach with a sample of 20 MA PK Al-Hikmah Tasikmalaya teachers through a questionnaire. The results of the analysis show that the implementation of the skills curriculum at MA PK Al-Hikmah Tasikmalaya City in accordance with the indicators in the Decree of the Minister of Religion (KMA) 184 is in the very good category with an average score of 3.512. Student competence consisting of cognitive, affective and psychomotor is in the good category with an average value of 3.246. The positive effect of Skills Curriculum Implementation on Student Competence with a regression value of 0.700 with a significant level of 0.001. Implementation of the Skills Curriculum contributes 49% to Student Competence, the remaining 51% is influenced by other variables. The implication for educational institutions, the implementation of the skills curriculum will be able to create good student competence.
