Abstract

Ibn Khaldun is one of the leaders of Islamic thinkers, better known as scientists and historians, but also can be classified into various specialties of scientific disciplines, such as statesman, juridical, sociologists, educators, even philosophers and clerics. His expertise in the field of education have received less attention, not many gave deep analysis of Ibn Khaldun's concept of education. He is a figure who has a strong ambition to science so many works he produced during his lifetime. One of his works is phenomenal Muqaddimah book. In the book discussed a wide range of social science began, culture, geography, politics, and even education. The purpose of this paper to describe the concept of education according to Ibn Khaldun which include: educational goals, students, teachers, methods, curriculum, and educational environment and its relevance to the Indonesian national education system. The method in this paper by using the method of analysis concepts with noninteractive qualitative approach using an analysis of the concept through an analysis of the document. So the results of this study Ibn Khaldun's thought critical education and humanist could become a reference for the development of education in Indonesia

Abstract

To accomplish the mission of spreading the message of the Quran, prospective Islamic teachers need to be equipped with the ability to translate the Qur'an. However, in reality, they face difficulties in understanding the messages of the Qur'an because of their low Arabic language skills. This research aims to find practical steps to improve the competence of prospective Islamic teachers in translating the Qur'an. This research involved 35 prospective Islamic teachers, consisting of 20 men and 15 women from various districts at a tertiary institution in West Java Indonesia. Data were collected using surveys, observations, and semi-structured interviews. Data were thematically identified, coded, evaluated, categorized, and analyzed using the analytical tool of content analysis. This research produced six learning steps (summarized in an acronym TARJIM as developed from the Tamyiz method). The Tamyiz method was a hypothetical model that was used as the foundation of this action research. These steps were able to improve the ability of prospective Islamic teachers in translating the Qur’an from the beginner level to the skilled level as many as 27 (77.14%) participants, from the basic level to the skilled level as many as five (14.28%) participants, and from the basic level to advanced level as many as three (8.57%) participants. Moreover, the six steps provided skills for the prospective teachers in translating the Qur'an verses that have exegetical nuances. The findings show that the six steps were effective steps to increase the competence of translating the Qur'an for prospective teachers of Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study discusses the development of 140 items of Arabic language proficiency test which covers listening, reading, and grammar mastery. These items were empirically analyzed, tried out, and revised. Results of this development would then be made a basis to design an application that can evaluate internet-based Arabic language proficiency (Internet-based Taqwim Kafa`ah Maharah Lughah Arabiyah) abbreviated as Wikalah iBT. To achieve this goal, a developmental research method was employed, namely the development of instruments starting from the needs analysis for tests, the making of instruments, validity and reliability testing, the design of iBT program, and the trial of the Wikalah iBT application. Results of the study show that (a) several test items still had morphological, morphosyntactic, and technical errors, (b) 81 test items were valid, (c) average reliability level was 0.67, (d) this test was in the medium and easy categories (63.57), and (e) the iBT application design was used successfully and ran smoothly. Based on the conclusions, it is recommended to add the test item package, improve the quality of the questions, and evaluate the iBT application. We believe that these findings provide initial support for  making an overview to those preparing for the  iBT test or other similar tests of  language proficiency. Study outcomes also inform the extent to which the use of technology can evaluate language proficiency

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the learning process of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is still experiencing various obstacles, one of which is the formation of moral students. The most important goals of learning PAI is the formation of morals students. To overcome these problems it is necessary to apply an appropriate and effective teaching methods for student development. The purpose of this study is to know how far the effectiveness of Uswah Ḥasanah method in learning PAI to improve akhlakul karimah. The research method used is quasi experimental with quantitative approach of non-equivalent control group design (not equivalent) research design. Techniques used in data collection are questionnaire, observation, and documentation. The result of this reasearch is that Uswah Ḥasanah Method is very effective in improving the Akhlakul Karimah of the student.  Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta yang menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) masih mengalami berbagai kendala, salah satunyaadalah pembentukan akhlak siswa. Satu tujuan yang paling utama dari pembelajaran PAI itu adalah pembentukan akhlak siswa.Untuk menanggulangi masalah tersebut maka perlu diterapkan suatu metode pengajaran yang tepat dan efektif untuk perkembangan siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauhmana efektivitas metode Uswah Ḥasanah  dalam pembelajaran PAI untuk meningkatkan akhlakul karimah.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design ( tidak ekuivalen). Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Daripenelitianinidapatdisimpulkan bahwa penerapan Metode Uswah Ḥasanahini sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan Akhlakul Karimah Siswa.

Abstract

Manusia merupakan makhluk terbaik yang diciptakan Allah di permukaan bumi ini. Keunggulan manusia diantara makhluk lainnya adalah dengan dimilikinya akal untuk berpikir. Dengan akalnya tersebut, manusia dapat menciptakan sesuatu yang luarbiasa, dan dengan akal yang dimilikin yaitu pula, manusia diamanahi tanggungjawab yang besar yaitu amanah sebagai khalīfaħ untuk mengurus bumi. Namun demikian, seiring dengan perkembangan zaman, manusia melupakan tugasnya tersebut. Sekarang ini banyak orang yang memiliki kemampuan akal yang tinggi dan mempunyai kedudukan yang tinggi pula dalam pemerintahan, namun mereka menyalahgunakan apa yang mereka punya. Penyalahgunaan potensi yang mereka miliki tersebut dapat diindikasikan karena ketidakpahaman manusia akan tugas yang sebenarnya ia emban, yakni sebagai khalīfaħ. Hal ini juga dapat disebabkan adanya sesuatu yang kurang sesuai antara tugas yang diemban dan proses dalam pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bagaimana khalīfaħ itu, syarat-syarat yang harus dimiliki seorang khalīfaħ, tugas dan fungsi seorang khalīfaħ yang terdapat dalam Al-Qur`ān dan tafsir Al-Mishbah, serta implementasinya terhadap pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, metode maudhu’i, dan teknis analisis dilalah dan munasabah.  Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa di dalam Al-Qur`ān terdapat dua bentuk pengungkapan kata khalīfaħ, yang pertama dalam bentuk tunggal khalīfaħ, dan dalam bentuk jamak yaitu khalā`if dan khulafā`. Tugas dan fungsi seorang khalīfaħ diantaranya yaitu menegakan hokum Allah, berlaku adil terhadap semua pihak, memiliki pengetahuan yang luas serta mampu bekerjasama dengan orang lain. Menarik implikasi edukatif daripadanya, sebagaimana di ungkapkan oleh para ahli pendidikan Islam, konsep khalīfaħ ini dapat dijadikan sebagai tujuan pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is motivated by the difficulty of memorizing the Qur’an and maintaining memorization. This study aims to determine the application of the My Q-Map method in improving the memorization of the Qur’an in Pondok Tahfidz Bintang Qur’an Cirebon. Data collection techniques was carried out by interview, observation, and study documentation. Data analysis was performed by data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and coding. From the results of this study it is known that the implementation of the My Q-Map method in Pondok Tahfidz Bintang Quran Cirebon refers to the curriculum that has been created by the Pondok (Islamic boarding schoool) itself. Activities of students and teachers in implementing the My Q-Map method in memorizing the Qur’an began with the opening, memorization, and evaluation. The advantage of this method is that it can help students overcome obstacles in memorization such as forgetfulness, depression, and other personal obstacles. In addition, this method can help students understand the meaning and remember the location of the verse so that memorization of the Qur’an feels more memorable and makes memorization more strongly bound. Overall this method has been quite successful in helping students improve memorization of the Qur’an. Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh sulitnya menghafal Alquran dan menjaga hafalannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan metode My Q-Map dalam meningkatkan hafalan Alquran di Pondok Tahfidz Bintang Quran Cirebon. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan koding. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa implementasi metode My Q-Map di Pondok Tahfidz Bintang Quran Cirebon mengacu kepada kurikulum yang telah dibuat oleh pondok itu sendiri. Aktivitas santri dan guru dalam mengimplementasikan metode My Q-Map dalam kegiatan menghafalkan Alquran dimulai dengan pembukaan, kegiatan menghafal, dan evaluasi. Kelebihan metode ini adalah dapat membantu mengatasi kendala santri dalam menghafal seperti mudah lupa, depresi, dan kendala personal lainnya. Di samping itu, metode ini dapat membantu santri memahami makna dan mengingat letak ayat sehingga hafalan Alquran terasa lebih berkesan dan membuat hafalan lebih kuat terikat. Secara keseluruhan metode ini sudah cukup berhasil dalam membantu santri meningkatkan hafalan Alquran.
