Abstract

Temperatur merupakan salah satu parameter yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap komposit HDPE. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengamati dan menganalisis pengaruh temperatur terhadap kekuatan tarik dan tekuk pada proses hot pressing komposit hybrid serat bambu dan serat daun nanas bermatriks HDPE. Material yang digunakan yaitu plastik HDPE, serat bambu dan serat daun nanas. Proses pembuatan dengan metode hot pressing bertekanan 25 bar dengan variasi temperatur 170°C, 180°C, 190°C, 200°C, dan 210°C selama holding time 25 menit. Pengujian yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah pengujian tarik dan pengujian tekuk yang merujuk pada standar ASTM D 3039 dan ASTM D 790. Nilai kekuatan tarik maksimal komposit HDPE tertinggi terdapat pada temperatur 170°C dengan nilai sebesar 514,489 MPa dan nilai kekuatan tarik maksimal terendah terdapat pada temperatur 210°C dengan nilai sebesar 383,349 MPa. Nilai kekuatan tekuk maksimal tertinggi juga terdapat pada temperatur 170°C dengan nilai sebesar 97,322 MPa dan nilai kekuatan tekuk terendah terdapat pada temperatur 210°C dengan nilai sebesar 74,081 MPa.

Abstract

The CC 205 locomotive at the UPT Locomotive Depot Divre IV Tanjung Karang is a train that uses diesel fuel. The locomotive at UPT Locomotive Depot Divre IV Tanjung Karang experienced compressor damage, which required component replacement. This research aims to identify and carry out the process of treating valve leaks in locomotive compressors. Observation, interview, and documentation are used to obtain appropriate data and results. Maintenance carried out on this locomotive is necessary so that the CC 205 locomotive can be used optimally without any doubt. Maintenance is an activity in maintaining existing facilities by carrying out repairs or replacements necessary to maintain the condition of these components so that they are always in maximum condition. The analysis results show that air leaks in the compressor caused by compressor valve leaks can cause the pressure in the main tank not to be filled.

Abstract

Composite is a material that is formed from a combination of 2 or more materials. The orientation of the inclination angle of the webbing on the composite affects the tensile strength value. This research was conducted to determine the effect of variations in the angle of inclination of the webbing and the phenomenon of delamination on the value of tensile strength. The process of making fiberglass woven fiber composites and a mixture of resin and catalyst uses the vacuum bagging method. The variations used in this study are the angle of inclination of the webbing 0°, 15°, 30° and 45°. Tensile test specimens using the ASTM D638 standard. The specimens that have been cut will then be perforated with a diameter of 4 mm using a milling machine. Tensile testing was carried out using a Universal Testing Machine. The highest tensile strength value is at an angle of 0° with a value of 189.30 MPa and the lowest tensile strength is at an angle of 45° with a value of 34.25 MPa and for the value of the delamination factor has little effect on the value of tensile strength.

Abstract

Curing is a method used to enhance the performance of composite materials by heating them in an electric oven for a specific duration and at a controlled temperature. This study aims to examine the effect of curing time variations on the failure analysis of carbon fiber sandwich composites with a PVC foam core under bending tests. The materials used in this research include polyester resin, 240 gsm carbon twill fiber, and a 5 mm thick PVC foam core. The manufacturing method applied was vacuum bagging, followed by a curing process with time variations of 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, and 120 minutes at a constant holding temperature of 80°C. Bending tests were carried out according to ASTM C393 standards. The highest bending strength of the sandwich composite was achieved with a curing time of 120 minutes, reaching 45.55 MPa, while the lowest strength was observed in the specimen without curing, at 25.76 MPa. The failures observed after bending tests included core failures such as core crush, indentation, and delamination, as well as skin failures like micro buckling.

Abstract

Mesin Creeper adalah alat pemipih gumpalan lateks yang keluar dari mobile crusher yang akan menjadi lembaran creep pada stasiun penggilingan dan peremahan yang berada di Pebrik karet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui metode perawatan dan perbaikan mesin creeper di pabrik pengolah karet PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VII Unit Rejosari Pabrik Karet Pematang Kiwah. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah pengenalan dan observasi, wawancara dan diskusi, studi literature dan pengambilan data di lapangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan perlu dilakukannya perawatan jenis Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance dan Breakdown Maintenance terhadap Mesin Creeper di PTPN VII Unit Pematang Kiwah agar mesin dapat bekerja secara optimal.
