Abstract

The aim of this research is to design a Distributed Generation (DG) connected system with solar cell source using Matlab/Simulink R2016a, build a Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) connected to DG using Matlab/Simulink R2016a, operate a DG system connected to solar cell for monitoring voltage and phasor currents through PMU. This research was conducted using simulations found in the Matlab R2016a application where the system consists of 4 buses, 2 loads with a voltage of 20 kV, 2 voltage boosters, 20 kV, and 4 transmission lines. The results showed that the impact of the DG system using this PMU has improved the quality of the power generated from both sources, namely the 150-kV network and the DG supplied at both loads. In addition, the results of this data prove that DG has a role in maintaining power at a stable load and increasing energy efficiency by reducing power losses in this DG connected system. The DG connected to the system has an effect on increasing the current in each bus, so that the load current has increased from before, giving an effect on increasing the voltage in each bus, so that the voltage on both loads has increased from before. Abstract

In the last few years, we have witnessed tremendous events occurred on social, religious and political fields in Southeast Asia. This region is believed to be one the most hybrid regions in the world. On one hand, we see the proliferation of democracy and civil society in most of Southeast Asian countries. On the other hand, we also see religious extremism, terrorism, ethno-religious conflicts, and other religious-based violence which have disrupted the stability of this region. The Marawi conflict in the Philippines, the Rohingya case in Myanmar, as well as several cases of violence against minorities in Indonesia and several other Southeast Asian countries are clear evidence that this problem poses threats to the stability of this highly plural societies in the region. For the reason above, the Center for the Study of Islam and Society (PPIM) Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta held the 2nd Studia Islamika International Conference 2017 with the main theme "Southeast Asian Islam: Religious Radicalism, Democracy and Global Trends" on 8-10 August 2017 in Jakarta, Indonesia. This conference is a continuation of the first conference held in 2014.The 2nd Studia Islamika International Conference 2017 is organized to respond various aspects related to current social and religious issues in Southeast Asia. The conference explores Southeast Asian's political trends including religious radicalism, democratic development, and global trends. Abstract

A PPIM’s junior researcher together with 13 young Indonesian Muslim intellectuals participated in Life of Muslims in Germany Program organized by Goethe Institut during 8-21 July 2018. This event explored Muslim everyday life in Germany through academic and cultural discussions in universities, research and cultural centres, and state officials. Therefore, this document is his insight to describe Muslim life in Germany and its contextualisation for Indonesian Muslim based on experiences in this program. This document article depicts two main issues which are happening in Germany: Muslim integration after the wave of refugees as a result of bloodiest conflict in Middle East and German government’s policy in religious pluralism issues.This program had been initiated in order to bridge cultural understanding for Indonesia, as the most populous Muslim country in the world, toward Muslim life in Germany. Indonesia has been considered as a strategic country which stands for disseminating moderate Islam. In addition, Dr. Heinrich Blomeke, Goethe-Institut, Institute and Regional Director Southeast Asia/Australia/New Zealand, said “the participants will engage in academic discussions and visit Muslim cultural organisation to obtain an insight about Muslim everyday life in German secular state. This program gives an opportunity for them and some Germany’s institutions to share their ideas regarding the experiences of Muslim life in Germany and Indonesia”.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial performance of PT Bali Bintang Sejahtera Tbk for the 2019–2023 period based on liquidity, solvency, and profitability ratios to evaluate financial stability and the effectiveness of the club's business strategies within the football industry. This research utilizes secondary time-series data obtained from annual financial reports published on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). The analysis results indicate that PT Bali Bintang Sejahtera Tbk exhibits very high liquidity, with a current ratio of 875.19%, a quick ratio of 257.55%, and a cash ratio of 257.55%. In terms of solvency, the debt-to-asset ratio of 10.78% and the debt-to-equity ratio of 12.19% reflect a low dependency on debt. However, profitability still requires improvement, with a return on assets (ROA) of 5.75% and a return on equity (ROE) of 6.28%. This study contributes to a better understanding of financial performance in football clubs. Practically, the findings serve as a reference for investors, creditors, and club management in making strategic decisions related to investment, financing, and asset management to enhance profitability and competitiveness.

Abstract

This article explains the mechanism of cadre engagement and militancy of Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), as the Islamist party in Indonesia. This study departs from the puzzle that despite their president, Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq, was accused for corruption crime ahead of elections in 2014, but the PKS’s vote still stable from the previous election period (2009). Since PKS is a party cadre, this study argues that the success of the PKS in maintaining the vote in the 2014 election was because of militancy and loyalty of their cadre in doing work collectively for the party. By using the framing approach in the field of social movement, this study concludes that the engagement and militancy of the PKS’s cadre have been influenced by their vigorous framing resources both ideology and identity, as well as the ability of party leaders in mobilizing those resources to their cadre at the lower levels.DOI: 10.15408/sdi.v23i2.3313

Abstract

Edward Schneier. 2016. Muslim Democracy: Politics, Religion and Society in Indonesia, Turkey and the Islamic World. New York: Routledge.This book is one of the most recent and pivotal works in studying of democratization in Muslim world. The controversial inference from the Edward Schneier’s work is that the variable of religion, especially Islam in this context, is not appropriate enough to explain the success or failure of democracy in Muslim majority countries. By using the mix method of statistics comparison and comparative case studies in Indonesia and Turkey, he argues that the difference of colonialization, history, geopolitics and the growth of developmental economy is crucial variable to elucidate the different outcome of democratization in Muslim countries. However, this book is like a generalization from prior works regarding this topic especially in explaining Islam and democracy in both countries. Some arguments fell down repeatedly with prior scholars such as the explanation of civil Islam to explain Indonesia democratization and the role of military-Islamist relations in depicting democratization in Turkey.DOI: 10.15408/sdi.v24i1.5223
