Abstract

MSMEs activities in the COVID-19 pandemic situation are of great hope in helping the recovery of the community's economic system. The partners for this community service activity are MSMEs in the Bareng Raya sub-district of Malang. Based on excavations and interviews, it shows that MSMEs in Bareng Raya are still not effective and efficient, especially in the field of branding, because there is still no organization that oversees them. This has an impact on sales results that are less than optimal. Lack of education regarding proper marketing and branding methods is one of the obstacles to marketing outreach to new customers. The approach method used in this community service is the establishment of a business by holding seminars and discussions regarding strategies related to forming business groups and discussion methods regarding possible obstacles. The proposed method is a branding strategy. The science and technology applied to partners includes knowledge of branding strategies to help support the marketing of the Bareng Raya MSMEs business group. In addition, the formation of the Bareng Raya business group will produce output in the form of organizational structure and branding, which are expected to help increase sales.

Abstract

Background: MSMEs in Kampoeng Ilmu Surabaya continue to face obstacles in product marketing and digital adoption, which limit their operational growth. This program aims to address these issues by developing an integrated website and improving digital literacy among MSME partners to strengthen their online visibility and business sustainability. Contribution: The program contributes to the community by providing a digital platform (UMKMCerdas website) that enables MSMEs to independently manage product data, storefront profiles, and promotional information. It also enhances partners’ capacity to operate digital tools, supporting long-term empowerment and competitiveness. Method: The implementation consisted of five structured stages: needs analysis through interviews, website design with UI/UX and database planning, website development using PHP (Laravel), MySQL, Tailwind, and Filament, training and mentoring for MSME partners, and evaluation through continuous monitoring. A participatory approach was used to ensure active involvement and skill transfer to 82 MSME actors. Results: The integrated website successfully provides features such as bookstore profiles, product catalogs, Google Maps integration, WhatsApp contacts, and an admin dashboard. Post-training responses showed significant enhancement in partners’ confidence and ability to use digital tools for promoting their businesses and managing information. Conclusion: The program effectively strengthens the digital capabilities of Kampoeng Ilmu MSMEs, enabling them to manage business content independently and expand their market reach.

Abstract

The problem of household plastic waste remains an environmental challenge in various regions, including Gading Watu Village, Menganti District, Gresik Regency. This community service program aims to introduce a simple technology for processing plastic bottle waste through a heating process to form liquid plastic that can be formed as the initial stage of plastic waste recycling. The implementation method includes a community needs survey, design and testing of plastic processing equipment, training on melting and forming plastic, and socialization of the environmental impacts of plastic waste. The results of the activity show an increase in community understanding and basic skills in plastic waste management, although the technology and processed products still require further development. This program is expected to be the first step in building community awareness and independence in sustainable plastic waste management.

Abstract

Plastic bottle waste has become a growing environmental problem due to the high use of single-use products and the lack of community-based waste management. This situation underscores the need to implement the concept of a circular economy through a more structured and sustainable waste management system. This community service activity aims to implement appropriate technology in the form of the “Bottle House” as a community-based plastic bottle waste collection facility in Sukodono Village, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. The implementation method consists of six stages: initial survey and problem identification, design of the Bottle House, socialization of the circular economy concept and closed-loop supply chain, implementation and operation of the Bottle House, ongoing mentoring and monitoring, and program impact evaluation. The results of the activity show that the implementation of the Bottle House has increased community participation in the sorting and collection of household plastic bottles. Additionally, this program has raised public awareness regarding the importance of circular economy-based waste management and maintaining the quality of plastic materials from the collection stage. Rumah Botol not only serves as a waste collection facility but also forms part of a more structured material management system to support environmental sustainability and reduce plastic waste generation in the community.
