Abstract

Ability of Active Compound Extract of Endophytic Bacteria to Inhibit the Growth of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. in Oil Palm ABSTRACTWilt vessels disease in oil palm plants is caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. This disease is very harmful because of its ability to kill the infected oil palm plant in less than a year. Endophytic bacteria are likely to be biological controllers for the disease because of their ability to produce bioactive antifungal compounds. Isolation of endophytic bacteria from oil palm plant and activity test of their active compounds against F. oxysporum f.sp. in vitro had been done. Antagonistic test of endophytic bacterial isolates against F. oxysporum f.sp. was carried out using a double culture method. The potential endophytic bacterial isolates were extracted using ethyl acetate solvent for their active compounds, which were then tested for its activity in inhibiting the growth of F. oxysporum f.sp. The results showed that the active compound extract of B11 endophytic bacteria with the incubation time of 24 and 54 hours gave the growth inhibition of F. oxysporum f.sp. at the level of 29.23% and 43.85%, respectively.Keywords: antagonistic test, bioactive compound, endophytic bacteria, F. oxysporum f.sp., oil palm ABSTRAKPenyakit layu pembuluh pada tanaman kelapa sawit disebabkan oleh Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. Penyakit ini menjadi penyebab kematian tanaman kelapa sawit yang telah terinfeksi dalam waktu kurang dari setahun. Bakteri endofit asal tanaman kelapa sawit dimungkinkan menjadi pengendali hayati bagi penyakit ini karena kemampuan bakteri tersebut memproduksi senyawa bioaktif yang bersifat antifungi. Isolasi bakteri endofit dari tanaman kelapa sawit dan uji aktivitas senyawa aktifnya terhadap F. oxysporum f.sp. secara in vitro telah dilakukan. Uji antagonis isolat bakteri endofit terhadap jamur patogen F. oxysporum f.sp. menggunakan metode kultur ganda. Isolat bakteri endofit potensial diekstrak senyawa aktifnya dengan menggunakan pelarut etil asetat, kemudian senyawa aktif ini diuji aktivitasnya dalam menghambat pertumbuhan jamur patogen F. oxysporum f.sp. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak senyawa aktif bakteri endofit B11 dengan waktu inkubasi 24 dan 54 jam memberikan daya hambat terhadap F. oxysporum f.sp. sebesar masing-masing 29,23% dan 43,85%.Kata Kunci: bakteri endofit, F. oxysporum f.sp., kelapa sawit, senyawa aktif, uji antagonis

Abstract

Di era Revolusi Industri 4.0, keterampilan berpikir komputasi (Computational Thinking/CT) menjadi kompetensi esensial bagi mahasiswa dalam memahami konsep biomolekul yang kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis integrasi CT dalam perkuliahan biomolekul serta tantangan yang dihadapi dalam implementasinya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap empat dosen pengampu mata kuliah biomolekul di dua perguruan tinggi negeri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun CT telah diakui sebagai bagian dari kebijakan pendidikan tinggi, penerapannya dalam perkuliahan biomolekul masih terbatas. Sebagian dosen telah mencoba menerapkan strategi seperti dekomposisi masalah dan analisis pola dalam reaksi biokimia, namun hambatan utama yang dihadapi adalah kurangnya pemahaman terhadap implementasi CT serta keterbatasan fasilitas pendukung seperti laboratorium dengan teknologi simulasi. Selain itu, evaluasi terhadap keterampilan CT mahasiswa dalam soal ujian masih bersifat implisit dan belum diukur secara sistematis. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pelatihan bagi dosen serta inovasi dalam metode pembelajaran berbasis teknologi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas integrasi CT dalam perkuliahan biomolekul.

Abstract

By creating interactive learning materials for the biochemistry course, this project seeks to improve the critical thinking abilities of students enrolled in the Science Education Program at one of the Bengkulu universities. Employing a research and development (R&D) approach considering the DDD-E (Decide, Design, Develop, Evaluate) model, the media was designed for Android devices and focuses on carbohydrate metabolism content. The main features include Program and Course Learning Outcomes, instructional materials, usage guidelines, and a profile section. Validation results from content and media experts confirmed the media’s appropriateness for instructional use. Student responses, analyzed using the Rasch Model, indicated strong agreement regarding the media's usefulness. Moreover, the application of this interactive media significantly improved students' critical thinking skills, with an N-gain score of 53.67%. These findings suggest that the media is effective for use in biochemistry courses, although further research is needed to explore its application in other subject areas.

Abstract

Pertanian yang ramah lingkungan masih menjadi prioritas bagi pemerintah daerah dalam pembangunan berkelanjutan karena diharapkan dapat meningkatkan dan mempertahankan produktivitas tinggi dalam bidang pertanian. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mewujudkan pertanian ramah lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan limbah organik rumah tangga sebagai bahan baku pembuatan kompos dengan Biokativator. Sasaran kegiatan dalam pengabdian ini adalah Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Nila 4A, KWT Nila 6E dan KWT Lahan Hijau di RT.4 RW.01 Kelurahan Sumber Jaya Kecamatan  Kampung  Melayu Kota Bengkulu dengan jumlah  sasaran sebanyak 45 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu, tahap observasi, tahap penyuluhan, tahap monitoring, dan tahap evaluasi. Hasilnya adalah pupuk kompos yang dihasilkan cukup bagus, tidak ada ulat atau belatung, serta tidak terlalu bau., pupuk kompos dengan karakteristik demikian sangat cocok untuk diaplikasikan pada pertanian. Selain pupuk daun, dari kegiatan ini juga dihasilkan pupuk cair organik yang merupakan sisa cairan dari  proses pembuatan pupuk kompos dengan bioaktivator. Setelah kegiatan ini KWT Nila 4A, KWT Nila 6E dan KWT Lahan Hijau di RT.4 RW.01 Kelurahan Sumber Jaya  Kecamatan  Kampung  Melayu Kota Bengkulu diharapkan dapat  membuat kompos bioaktivator dengan kualitas bagus dan berdaya jual tinggi.Kata Kunci: bioaktivator; limbah organik rumah tangga; pupuk kompos. Increasing the Productivity of Bioactivator Compost with Organic Household Waste Raw MaterialsABSTRACTEnvironmentally friendly agriculture is still a priority for local governments in sustainable development because it is expected to increase and maintain high productivity in agriculture. This service was carried out with the aim of realizing environmentally friendly agriculture by utilizing household organic waste as raw material for composting with biocativators. The targets of this service are the Women Farmers Group (KWT) Nila 4A, KWT Nila 6E and KWT Green Land in RT.4 RW.01 Kelurahan Sumber Jaya Sub-district Kampung Melayu Bengkulu City with a total target of 45 people. The method used in this service consists of 4 stages, namely, the observation stage, the counseling stage, the monitoring stage, and the evaluation stage. The result is that the compost produced is quite good, there are no caterpillars or maggots, and does not smell too much. Compost with these characteristics is very suitable for application in agriculture. Apart from foliar fertilizers, this activity also produces organic liquid fertilizer, which is the residual liquid from the compost-making process using a bioactivator. After this activity, KWT Nila 4A, KWT Nila 6E and KWT Green Land at RT.4 RW.01 Kelurahan Sumber Jaya Sub-district Kampung Melayu City Bengkulu City are expected to be able to make bioactivator compost with good quality and high selling power.Keywords: bioactivator; household organic waste; compost.

Abstract

Students need computational thinking skills to help them face global challenges with rapid technological development. For this reason, teachers must be able to implement CT in learning by paying attention to students' interest in learning, one of which is using educational games. Designing CT-integrated educational games requires appropriate strategies such as mastery learning. This study aims to analyse the development of educational game design using mastery learning strategies so that it can provide an overview to educators in developing the media to improve students' CT skills. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data obtained was analysed bibliometrically using the VOS Viewer application. The VOS Viewer analysis shows that there is a connection between game design, computational thinking, and mastery learning that began in 2016. The results also show that there are 4 things that become the basis for designing educational games, namely cognitive, motivational, affective, and sociocultural perspectives
