Abstract

Background: Fever is a clinical manifestation that is often experienced by sick children. Fever can be dangerous if there is a high fever. Seizures can occur as a result of high fever which is not treated early, causing hypoxia of brain tissue and ultimately damage. According to WHO estimates that around 17 million cases of fever worldwide, there are 600,000 deaths each year.Purpose: This study aimed to find out effective interventions to reduce body temperature in children.Methods: This research used quantitative descriptive design with systematic review approach. The research instrument uses Duffy’s Research Appraisal Checklist Approach.Results: After searching the article, there were 9 articles related to giving warm compresses, 6 articles with the location of administration in the axilla and tepid songe areas (wiping the whole body), 7 articles by giving compresses for 30 minutes and 10 articles with compressed water temperature 37oC.Conclusions: Of the 15 articles that have been traced successfully, the most interventions given were warm compresses in the axilla and tepid sponge areas by giving compresses for 30 minutes and compressed water temperature of 37oC

Abstract

Background: Play therapy in cancer children is a major intervention that can meet the needs of playing in children who are hospitalized.Purpose: This study aimed to determine an effective play therapy model given to children with cancer undergoing hospitalization.Methods: The research design used is quantitative descriptive with a Systematic Review approach. Data collection techniques using article search sources in this study are Pubmed, Science Direct, Google Schoolar, Portal Garuda, JOIN, IJSR, and Emerald. Articles published from 2015-2019 and focus on play therapy interventions in children suffering from cancer.Results: The results of the analysis of nine articles in accordance with the inclusion criteria about play therapy in children with cancer proved effective in reducing hospitalization of children. The play therapy used in the selected article is drawing, painting, puzzle, storytelling, cognitive behavior and therapeutic play with 20-60 minutes of execution time.Conclusion: The play therapy is recommended for use because the technique is simple, does not require a lot of tools and materials, is easy, affordable and can be done by children with preschool and school-age cancer who are hospitalized.

Abstract

Background: Children with special needs are children who are significantly different from other children, they are physically, psychologically, cognitively and socially obstructed in achieving their goals and potential to the fullest such as autism.Purpose: This study aimed to determine the provision of effective occupational therapy in children with special needs.Methods: This research uses a quantitative descriptive design. Search for research articles in several databases using certain keywords in the period 2015-2019.Results: Search results obtained 1396 articles using occupational therapy, there were only 10 articles that met the inclusion criteria analyzed using the Duffy's Research Appraisal Checklist Approach and the 10 articles included in the superior paper category so that it was good for further analysis. Based on the results of Systematic Review shows that effective occupational therapy is given to children with special needs (Autism). Occupational therapy given is very varied, namely drawing, collage technique, buttoning clothes, remembering pictures, sensory oral motor stimulation. Motor skills acquisition training, Equine-Assisted Therapy / EAT, Sensory Integration Therapy / SIT.Conclusion: From the analysis of the article shows that all occupational therapy can help improve both physical and mental development in children with autism so that children with autism can carry out daily activities like children in general and improve their quality of life. Occupational therapy found in this review can be used as an intervention in overcoming Developmental problems in children with autism due to simple techniques using daily activities

Abstract

Hospitalization-induced anxiety in children can impede healing and lengthen hospitalization. As such, appropriate interventions are needed to reduce their anxiety during hospitalization. For example, brain exercise has been shown to reduce anxiety in children in diverse settings and developmental stages. This study was performed to compare the effect of brain exercise on anxiety in hospitalized school-and preschool-aged children. A pre-experimental pre/ posttest design was used, and 32 children were selected by consecutive sampling. Brain gym was given twice a day for 2 consecutive days. Data were collected from school-aged children by using a modified Zung Sel-Rating Anxiety Scale and Tailor Manifest Anxiety Scale and from preschoolers by utilizing a modified Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale observation sheet. Wilcoxon test results showed that brain gyms were effective in reducing anxiety in school-aged children (p = 0.016) and preschoolers (p = 0.006). Movements during brain exercises could activate the neocortex and parasympathetic nerves that can ease psychic and physical tension. Therefore, brain gym can be an effective intervention to decrease anxiety in preschoolers and school-aged children. Abstrak Brain Gym Efektif Menurunkan Kecemasan Pada Anak Usia Sekolah dan Pra Sekolah di Rumah Sakit. Kecemasan akibat rawat inap pada anak dapat menghambat penyembuhan dan memperpanjang rawat inap. Dengan demikian, intervensi yang tepat diperlukan untuk mengurangi kecemasan mereka selama dirawat di rumah sakit. Misalnya, latihan otak telah terbukti mengurangi kecemasan pada anak-anak dalam berbagai pengaturan dan tahap perkembangan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk membandingkan pengaruh senam otak terhadap kecemasan pada anak usia sekolah dan prasekolah yang dirawat di rumah sakit. Penelitian menggunakan desain pre-eksperimen pre/posttest, dan 32 anak dipilih dengan sampel konsekutif. Senam otak diberikan dua kali sehari selama dua hari berturut-turut. Data yang dikumpulkan dari anak-anak usia sekolah menggunakan modifikasi Zung Sel-Rating Anxiety Scale dan Tailor Manifest Anxiety Scale, sedangkan data anak-anak prasekolah menggunakan lembar observasi modifikasi Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa senam otak efektif menurunkan kecemasan pada anak usia sekolah (p = 0,016) dan anak prasekolah (p = 0,006). Gerakan pada saat senam otak dapat mengaktifkan neokorteks dan saraf parasimpatis yang dapat meredakan ketegangan psikis dan fisik. Oleh karena itu, senam otak dapat menjadi intervensi yang efektif untuk menurunkan kecemasan pada anak prasekolah dan usia sekolah. Kata Kunci: kecemasan, prasekolah, senam otak, usia sekolah

Abstract

Diare masih merupakan salah satu penyebab utama morbiditas dan mortalitasanak-anak diberbagai negara yang sedang berkembang, setiap tahun diperkirakan lebih dari satu milyar kasus diare di dunia. Salah satu upaya untuk menekan angka kejadian diare pada anak-anak dengan memberikan pengetahuan/pendidikan kesehatan untuk selalu menerapkan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS).Jenis penelitian ini adalah pra-eksperiment design dengan rancangan pre-test dan post-test. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah responden 80 orang. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik wilcoxon dengan tingkat kemaknaan ρ< α = 0,05.Hasil analisis dengan uji statistik wilcoxon didapatkan ada pengaruh pemberian pendidikan kesehatan terhadap tingkat pengetahuan tentang pencegahan penyakit diare pada anak usia pra sekolah yaitu dengan nilai koefisien z sebesar -8,374 dan nilai p value < 0,001. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pengetahuan anak usia pra sekolah antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang pencegahan penyakit diare. Hal ini di sebabkan karena siswa telah mendapatkan pelajaran dalam bentuk pendidikan kesehatan sehingga terjadi suatu proses belajar dimana sesuatu yang tidak tahu berubah menjadi tahu.

Abstract

The health of pregnant women will determine for health status of the baby. This is also a main concern for the government. Pregnant women bring prospective future generations to the nation who will productively contribute greatly to the progress of the nation. The importance of maternal health can be seen from the government’s policy that the reduction of the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is one of the SDG’s 2030 targets and an indicator of the success of national development. Pregnant women are a vulnerable group, especially in pandemic situations and conditions. Various efforts were made to maintain the health of mothers and babies during pregnancy until delivery. Gowa Regency is a district with the second highest number of Covid case in South Sulawesi. Therefore, it became the basis for implementation of community service in the working area of ​​the Bajeng Public Health Center, Gowa Regency. The method used is to provide health education in the form of a gallery walk with the aim of increasing the knowledge of pregnant women in order to maintain their health. Various important themes in this counseling include: anemia in pregnant women, the risk of 4T in pregnant women, recognizing the symptoms and danger signs in pregnancy, stress management for pregnant women, and nutrition needed by pregnant women and continuing to carry out pregnancy check-up during the pandemic period. During the activities, pregnant women were enthusiastically paying attention to each material provided and actively discussing. At the end of the counseling, we immediately evaluated the knowledge of pregnant women regarding in the materials that had been given. They were very happy with these activities, and looking forward to such activities next time. Therefore, we suggest to related parties, namely the head of the public health center and health workers, to continue to carry out health education regularly and to reactivate the integrated healthcare center for pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic period while still implementing health protocols. ABSTRAK Kesehatan ibu hamil merupakan perhatian besar bagi pemerintah. Ibu hamil, membawa calon generasi penerus bangsa yang secara produktif akan berkontribusi besar terhadap kemajuan bangsa dan negara. Pentingnya kesehatan Ibu, dapat dilihat dari  kebijakan pemerintah yang menjadikan penurunan Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI) sebagai salah satu target SDG’s 2030 dan indikator keberhasilan pembangunan nasional. Ibu hamil adalah kelompok rentang terlebih disituasi dan kondisi pandemic. Berbagai upaya dilakukan untuk tetap menjaga kesehatan ibu dan bayinya selama proses kehamilan sampai persalinan. Kabupaten Gowa merupakan kabupaten dengan jumlah kasus covid tertinggi kedua di Sulawesi Selatan, maka ini menjadi dasar pelaksanaan pengabdian masayarakat  di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Bajeng Kabupaten Gowa. Metode yang digunakan adalah memberikan penyuluhan kesehatan dalam bentuk gallery walk dengan tujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil agar mampu tetap menjaga kesehatannya. Berbagai tema penting pada penyuluhan ini antaralain: anemia pada ibu hamil, resiko 4T pada ibu hamil, mengenal tanda-tanda bahaya kehamilan, manajemen stress pada ibu hamil, dan nutrisi yang dibutuhkan ibu hamil serta tetap melakukan pemeriksaan kehamilan selama pandemic. Selama kegiatan berlangsung para ibu hamil antusias memperhatikan setiap materi yang diberikan dan aktif berdiskusi. Diakhir penyuluhan kami evaluasi secara langsung terkait pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang materi-materi yang sudah diberikan. Mereka sangat senang dengan adanya kegitan ini, dan berharap akan ada kegiatan lanjutan. Maka dari itu kami menyarankan kepada pihak-pihak terkait yaitu kepala puskesmas dan para tenaga kesehatan untuk tetap melaksanakan penyuluhan kesehatan rutin dan kembali mengaktifkan posyandu ibu hamil di masa pandemic covid 19 dengan tetap menerapkan protocol kesehatan.

Abstract

Frequency of stools in diarrhea children requires special attention because it can cause dehydration which is the leading cause of death in children with diarrhea. Previous studies state that tempe and honey are effective in reducing the frequency of stools in diarrhea children. However, it is not known which intervention is more effective. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether there is a difference in the effectiveness of tempe biscuits and honey to decrease the frequency of stools in diarrhea. This study employed the quasi-experiment design with two groups pre and post-test. A total of 30 samples were taken by Accidental Sampling. Samples were divided into 2 groups, where 15 people were given the intervention of tempe biscuits, and 15 other people were given honey. Giving tempe biscuits and honey are given 3 times a day for two consecutive days. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test. The results of this study indicate that tempe biscuits and honey is effective in reducing the frequency of stools in diarrhea children (p = 0.001 and p<0,001). Although the decrease in the frequency of stools in the group with honey was greater than the group with tempe biscuits, the results of this study showed that there were no significant differences between the two interventions to decrease the frequency of stools (p = 0.385). Therefore, in reducing the frequency of defecation, tempe biscuit and honey can be used as good food supplements for diarrhea children.

Abstract

The data from the World Health Organization in 2017, suicidal behavior of teenagers Indonesia of 13-17 years old, as many 5.6% teens had made plans related to the way they committed suicide. The aim of this research is to find out the analysis of the incidence of depression and risk of suicide using Buddy App on teenagers in Makassar. This research was an analytic quantitative with cross-sectional study approach. As many 285 teenagers involved in this research recruited by simple random sampling. Data collected by using a of depression namely KADS that are provided through online form and questionnaire of risk of suicide, namely CSSRS using buddy apps. It is called Buddy App because of its function as an application that can be a close friend to users. The incidence of depression and risk of suicide is higher in the late adolescents. Mean of depression in early adolescent (4.78) and late adolescent (6.31). The statistical test results showed the significant differences between the incidence of depression (p-value 0,000) and the level of risk of suicide (p-value 0,022) in early adolescence and late adolescents. The next researcher is expected to examine the level of depression in each level of suicide risk by developing the questionnaire of depression.

Abstract

Interprofessional education (IPE) needs to be introduced early in the academic stage to prepare health professionals who are expected to be more professional. Both self-efficacy and IPE readiness are vital considerations to achieve the goals regarding the implementation of IPE. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and IPE readiness. This research used a descriptive correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling was 146 students and utilized 10% quota sampling from each major. This study consisted of two types of questionnaires, namely the self-efficacy questionnaire and Readiness of the Interprofessional Learning Scale (RIPLS). The collected data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The result of this study indicated that 56.8% of students have high self-efficacy. There are no students in low self-efficacy category. Then, the readiness of students on IPE is high, with 89.0%, and there are no students in low category. The Chi-Square test result shows that the value of p=0.006 or p<0.05. It means that there is a relationship between self-efficacy and readiness of IPE among students at FKIK UIN Alauddin Makassar. Therefore, to implement IPE, efforts need to be made to improve students’ self-efficacy and ultimately improve IPE readiness.

Abstract

Anxiety in hospitalization will lead to the uncomfortable feeling good in children and families, so that the necessary process of adjustment to reduce, minimizing the anxiety to not develop into a crisis. One of media treatment in lowering anxiety is brain gym . Brain gym is a series of simple gestures that simulates brain work and brain function optimally. Study aims to determine the influence of brain gym of anxiety in children of school age who have hospitalization. True Eksperimental pre test post test control group design. Research place at Islam Faisal hospital Makassar and Labuang Baji hospital Makassar. The data analysis used Independen T-test. The gathering samples using methods Random Allocation. Provided 14 samples with 7 respondents of intervention group and 7 of respondents as a control group. The result of test statistic obtained by velue = 0,000, then there was a meaningful level of anxiety pre-Test with post Test after use brain gym.  If a person to experience anxiety then the cortex cerebri to send a distress signal to hypothalamus thus resulting in tension in motoric, hyperactivity of aoutonomic nervous system and raise awareness. The method used to help in lowering anxiety by doing brain gym. With movements brain gym can activate the neocotex and nervous parasympathetic reduce increase in the hormone adrenaline in body that can ease the tension of phychological and physical strain. So, conclusion is brain gym effect on reducation of anxiety and therapy is able to be one alternative for children who have hospitalization.
