Abstract

Objective: : the aim of this research is to find out the effect of intensive counselling in improving knowledge of pregnant women related to quality nutrition intake. Methods: the research used Quasi Eksperimen design method wiht pre post control grup one design.the subject consisten of 80 people divided into 2 groups.i.e. 40 people in control  group and 40 people in intervention group.  the data were processed using kruskal-wallis test to analyze the differences before and after intervention was done in intensive nutrition counselling group andcontrol grupResults:  the results of the research that the mean value in intensive group in terms of knowledge is higher than that of control group.  Therefore intensive counseling is very effective to inprove respondents knowledgeConclusion:  Counseling of Intensive nutrition with using leaflet media can improve knowledge of pregnant women was much better.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the pregnancy counseling program in improving the knowledge and behavior of pregnant women at the Poasia Community Health Center in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. The method used was an educational approach through individual and group counseling, accompanied by pre- and post-tests to measure knowledge gains and observe changes in health behaviors during pregnancy. Results showed significant improvements in understanding pregnancy danger signs, adherence to antenatal visits, consumption of iron supplements, and healthy lifestyle practices. This program demonstrates that structured and ongoing counseling is effective in supporting improvements in the quality of pregnant women's health at the primary care level.

Abstract

Abstract Knowledge of pregnant women is a crucial factor in maintaining the health of both mother and fetus during pregnancy. Lack of knowledge can increase the risk of complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Prenatal classes are one way to improve maternal knowledge through health education. The use of audio-visual media in prenatal classes can increase the effectiveness of information delivery. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge of pregnant women through audio-visual media-based prenatal classes. Implementation methods include counseling, educational video screenings, discussions, and knowledge evaluations. The results of the activity indicate an increase in knowledge among pregnant women after attending the classes. This program is effective in increasing pregnant women's understanding of pregnancy health. Keywords: Pregnant Women, Health Education, Audio-Visual, Prenatal Classes Abstrak Pengetahuan ibu hamil merupakan faktor penting dalam menjaga kesehatan ibu dan janin selama masa kehamilan. Kurangnya pengetahuan dapat meningkatkan risiko komplikasi kehamilan dan persalinan. Kelas ibu hamil merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu melalui edukasi kesehatan. Pemanfaatan media audio visual dalam kelas ibu hamil dapat meningkatkan efektivitas penyampaian informasi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil melalui kelas ibu hamil berbasis media audio visual. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyuluhan, pemutaran video edukasi, diskusi, serta evaluasi pengetahuan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan ibu hamil setelah mengikuti kelas. Program ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman ibu hamil mengenai kesehatan kehamilan. Kata Kunci: Ibu Hamil, Edukasi Kesehatan, Audio Visual, Kelas Ibu Hamil
