Abstract

Women of reproductive age are more likely to have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), which frequently results in health issues, particularly during pregnancy. A normal pregnancy's first trimester shows a marked increase in the percentage of Th17 cells, which then steadily declined in the second and third trimesters. Meanwhile, IL-17 level increases in SLE-affected pregnant women. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between serum IL-17 and pregnancy outcome (fetus weight, blood pressure, urinary albumin) in SLE pregnant animal models. Twenty mice were randomly divided into two groups, including the normal pregnant group and SLE-pregnant group. The SLE pregnant mice was made by intraperitoneally induction of 0.5 mL pristane. Serum IL-17 was assayed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. The serum IL-17 level, the blood pressure and urinary albumin were significantly higher in the SLE pregnant mice group than those of the normal pregnant group (p< 0.05). The weight of fetus was significantly smaller in the group of SLE pregnant mice group than the normal pregnant group (p< 0.05). There was a significantly positive correlation between the serum IL-17 level and urinary albumin (p = 0.042; r = 0.459). In conclusion, serum IL-17 levels correlate with urine albumin in SLE pregnant models, but do not correlate with fetus weight and blood pressure.

Abstract

After delivery, uterine contractions will occur, which cause pain. Postpartum pain is physiological and lasts for several days after the delivery process. Postpartum pain that is not handled properly and correctly can cause discomfort, including disrupting activities, disturbing the mother's rest time, or when breastfeeding, and can cause trauma. Handling postpartum pain using cinnamon aromatherapy inhalation can be an alternative to non-pharmacological therapy. Cinnamon contains the main compounds, namely cinnamaldehyde and eugenol, which have anti-inflammatory effects and can reduce pain. In addition, the content of essential oils helps relax tense muscles, increase circulation, and relieve stomach cramps. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of cinnamon aromatherapy inhalation in reducing postpartum pain in normal delivery. The type of research is Quasy Experimental with a pre-test and post-test design. The research sample consisted of 30 postpartum mothers divided into control and intervention groups. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The research instrument used was the Visual Analague Scale (VAS), which measured the pain level, and an observation sheet. Cinnamon inhalation was given to the intervention group by dripping cinnamon onto a tissue and inhaling it at a distance of plus minus 1 cm from the nostrils for 30 minutes starting 6 hours postpartum until the 3rd day. The control group was given deep breathing relaxation, starting 6 hours postpartum and continuing until the 3rd day. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney test. The results of the Mann-Whitney test showed a p-value of 0.001. Cinnamon aromatherapy inhalation is effective in reducing postpartum pain in normal delivery

Abstract

Abstract

Hypertensive disorders (HD) affect up to 10 percent of pregnancies worldwide. Gestational Hypertension 17 percent will progress to preeclampsia if left untreated. Acupressure has been used for centuries to treat a variety of symptoms associated with pregnancy and is also known to lower blood pressure in hypertension. However, the use of ear acupressure as an adjunct to conventional care for hypertensive disorders in pregnancy is underrepresented in the scientific literature. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of ear acupressure on gestational hypertension. The research method employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-post design. A sample of 15 people received antenatal care and ear acupressure. Analysis using the Paired T Test. The study's results showed a difference in the average blood pressure of primigravida women in the 2nd and third trimesters, both before and after ear acupressure, of 6 mmHg systolic and 4 mmHg diastolic. The results of the Paired t-test p equal 0.00. The conclusion is that ear acupressure affects the blood pressure of primigravida during the second and third trimesters.

Abstract

Stunted toddlers experience chronic malnutrition, which causes a decrease in their immune system, resulting in a higher risk of developing acute and chronic infectious diseases as well as recurrent infections and suffering death. Giving VCO to stunted toddlers aims to improve metabolic function to increase immunity, optimize growth and development, and improve the quality of health status of little toddlers. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of VCO in increasing the immunity of stunted toddlers. This research used a Quasi-Experimental method with 32 stunted toddlers as respondents. The instrument used was a questionnaire given pre-and post-intervention. Data analysis used the Paired t-test. The research results showed that most respondents' immunity level was poor before administering VCO (62.5%). In contrast, after administering VCO, the immunity level of most of the respondents was sufficient (46.9%), with a p-value = 0.01, which means that the administration of VCO has proven effective in increasing immunity in toddlers. It is recommended that the public include VCO as a functional nutrition in therapy for stunting toddlers.

Abstract

The baby has infants who experience delays in development will make parents feel anxious and worried. So the baby has difficulty walking and lacks language; the lack of stimulation provided to the baby will worsen developmental delays in infants (Hurlock, 2002). The number of children under five in Siwalankerto Sub-District, Wonocolo District, Surabaya City, is quite large. The solution offered to this problem is to do baby gymnastics training for infants aged more than 3 months. With baby exercises provide touch stimulation, which believed to have been very beneficial for babies. Baby gymnastics used to help stimulate the growth and development of the nervous and motor system in healthy and normal infants in the phase of development according to age and ability. This activity can optimize gross motor skills, improve coordination, concentration, the balance of body movements and increase baby's physical strength, also through gymnastics baby closeness (bonding) between mother and baby will be more reliable. Counseling activities, as well as demonstrations of Baby Gymnastics To stimulate growth and development, more optimal babies, improve baby's sensory and motor skills. Then Increase the mother's knowledge about the importance of applying baby exercises to the child.
