Abstract

An experiment has been set in a completely randomized design to determine the best concentration of liquid organic fertilizer of peels of ‘kepok’ banana to increase the growth and yield of strawberry. The experiment was conducted at Nagari Koto Baru Simalanggang, Payakumbuh, the Regency of Lima Puluh Kota, West Sumatra from April to August 2019. The place lies at elevation about 540 m above sea level. Treatments were concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer of banana peels (0; 5; 10; 15; and 20%) and replicated three times. Data were analysed with analysis of variance and mean separation of Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at 5%. Results demonstrated that 10% of liquid organic fertilizer of banana peels increased the growth of strawberry plants and shortened the time to flowering

Abstract

Research on the effect of giving various concentration ethepon to growth and production of cucumber was conducted in Nagari Kacang Kecamatan X Koto Singkarak, Solok, West Sumatra, from June to August 2008. The objectives of the study were (1) get interaction between several concentrations of ethephon with cucumber varieties, (2) obtaining the best ethepon concentration, (3) and knowing cucumber varieties that have better production. Factorial-factored experiments in Randomized Block Design with 2 factors and 3 groups. The first factor of ethepon concentration consisted of five levels 0, 100, 200, 300, 400 ppm. The second factor is cucumber varieties of Local and  Antara varieties. Observed variables: plant length, number of branches, when first male flowers appear, when the first female flowers appear, the number of male flowers, the number of female flowers, the number of straight fruit, the number of fruit is not straight, the fruit weight is straight, fruit weight is not straight. Providing ethepon concentration with crop varieties has an effect on growth and production of cucumber , that is when the first male flowers appear (hst). Provision of ethepon concentration of 200 ppm showed a better effect on the number of female flowers, the number of straight fruit, and the weight of the fruit straight. Factor varieties, singularly different to plant length variables, when the first female flowers appear, the number of straight fruit, the number of crooked fruit, the weight of the fruit straight, and the weight of the bent fruit. Local varieties show better production than Antara varieties.

Abstract

SMA Negeri 13 Padang is one of the high schools in Padang, which has been the partner of the Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University. Currently, the school is experiencing difficulties in developing the Adiwiyata program. The less than optimal use of the schoolyard becomes an obstacle in realizing this program. The vertical garden is a solution that can be applied in schools so that the yard's utilization can be done optimally. This activity aims to provide knowledge and understanding of the school regarding the vertical garden. This activity was carried out at SMA Negeri 13 Padang using survey methods, counseling, and demonstrations in making a vertical garden. Based on the activities carried out, the results obtained are 16% of the participants know about the vertical garden, and 84% of the participants do not learn the vertical garden technique yet. In the end of program, 80% of the participants understood the vertical garden technique and applied it in their respective classes. The knowledge and understanding of the participants increased by 64%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengenai efikasi herbisida etil pirazosulfuron 10% terhadap gulma dan hasil padi sawah (Oryza sativa L.) metode SRI dan Konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh dosis herbisida etil pirazosulfuron 10% terbaik untuk mengendalikan gulma dan hasil padi sawah metode SRI dan Konvensional. Penelitian ini dilakukan bulan Februari 2022 sampai Juni 2022 di Kelurahan Pasar Ambacang, Kecamatan Kuranji, Kota Padang, Sumatera Barat. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Split Plot Acak Kelompok yang terdiri dari 7 taraf perlakuan yaitu kontrol, herbisida etil 10% dosis (50, 100, 150, 200, 250, g/Ha), dan penyiangan manual dengan 4 kali ulangan. Data di analisis secara statistik dengan uji F pada taraf nyata 5%, apabila F hitung lebih besar dari F tabel maka dilanjutkan dengan Uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa biomassa gulma terendah terdapat pada metode padi konvensional dengan pemberin dosis herbisida etil pyrazosulfuron 10% sebesar 100 g/ha, 150 g/ha, 200 g/ha dan 250 g/ha. Metode budidaya padi paling baik untuk hasil tanaman adalah metode padi konvensional. Herbisida etil pirazosulfuron 10% dengan dosis 100 g/Ha merupakan dosis yang terbaik karena dapat mengurangi pemakaian herbisida namun dapat mengendalikan gulma serta tidak menyebabkan keracunan pada tanaman padi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain a early-harvest rice mutant maturity, ideal height, number of tillers, and ideal height. The method was used in this study is the method of pedigree. Planting M2 was the first stage of selection to be carried out next by pedigree. Prospective mutants in M2 generation of irradiated cultivars of sijunjuang consist of; a) 2 genotypes of very mature candidate mutants (104 hss), b) 152 genotypes of maturing mutant candidates (110 hss - 120 hss), c) 18 genotypes of prospective mutants mature and have ideal high criteria, and d) 2 genotypes of mating candidates that are mature and have the ideal total number of tillers; e) 7 genotypes of prospective mutants with weight of dry harvest grain above average yield per hectare from the description of kutivar Sijunjuang ie 5.5 Tons/Ha. Mutant candidates in M2 generation resulting from irradiation Kuriak Kusuik consist of; a) 2 genotypes of very early genetic candidates (104 hss), b) 76 genotypes of mature candidates (113 hss -124 hss), c) 323 genotypes of moderate mutant candidates (126 hss -147 hss), d ) 123 genotypes of prospective mutants very mature and have ideal high criteria and e) 4 genotypes of prospective mutants mature with high and total number of ideal tillers, f) as many as 18 genotypes of prospective mutants who have weight of dry grain harvest above the average production per hectare of Kuriak Kusuik cultivar description and g) has one genotype of prospective mutants that have a early-harvest age and have an ideal agronomic character.
