ABSTRACTThe intensity of pain during labor affects the psychological state of the mother, the smoothness of the delivery process and the condition of the fetus. Kneading technique is a technique of massaging the fingers over the superficial layers of muscle tissue to help control local pain and increase circulation and relaxation. The goal of this kneading technique is to help control pain and improve circulation. In addition, the kneading technique can also provide physiological effects in the form of increased blood flow, lymphatic flow, stimulation of the nervous system. This type of research uses a descriptive study research method. This research was carried out in April-May 2023. The population in this study was 20 people. The number of samples that met the inclusion criteria were 20 people, and this study used accidental sampling. The dependent variable is the kneading technique and the independent variables are age, parity, birth attendant and pain intensity. The results of pain intensity after the Kneading Technique was carried out with a mean value of 1.10 and a standard deviation of 308. This difference was tested with a paired sample T – test resulting in a p value = 0.000 with a degree of significanceα = 0.005 meaning H0 is rejected and H2 is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the Kneading Technique’s actions on reducing pain intensity in mothers in the first stage of labor at RSUD Sayang Cianjur in 2023. It is hoped that many will do this kneading technique to help reduce pain during the delivery process.ABSTRAKABSTRAK Intensitas nyeri selama persalinan memengaruhi keadaan psikologi ibu, kelancaran proses persalinan serta keadaan janin. Teknik kneading merupakan Teknik memijat menggunakan jari atas lapisan superfisial jaringan otot untuk membantu kontrol nyeri lokal dan meningkatkan sirkulasi dan relaksasi. Tujuan dari Teknik kneading ini membantu mengontrol rasa sakit dan meningkatkan sirkulasi. Selain itu Teknik kneading juga dapat memberikan efek fisiologis berupa peningkatan aliran darah, aliran limfatik, stimulasi system saraf. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian studi deskriptif. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 20 orang. Jumlah sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi sebanyak 20 orang, dan penelitian ini menggunakan accidental sampling. Variable dependent yaitu Teknik kneading dan variable independent yaitu usia, paritas, pendamping persalinan dan intensitas nyeri. Hasil intensitas nyeri setelah dilakukan tindakan Teknik Kneading yaitu dengan nilai mean 1.10 dan standar deviation 308. Perbedaan ini di uji dengan paired sample T – test menghasilkan nilai p value = 0.000 dengan derajat kemaknaan α = 0.005 berarti H0 ditolak dan H2 diterima. Maka dapat disimpulkan ada hubungan antara tindakan Teknik Kneading terhadap pengurangan intensitas nyeri pada ibu bersalin kala I di RSUD Sayang Cianjur Tahun 2023. Diharapkan banyak yang melakukan teknik kneading ini untuk membantu mengurangi nyeri pada saat proses persalinan.
