Abstract

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the direction and practice of people catechesis in the 21st century of Ruteng Diocese, namely in the period 2010-2020. The research method used is documentation. Based on theory and document study, it is known that the practice of catechesis of the people in Ruteng Diocese during the 21st century was carried out in Basic Chriatian Communities. The basic direction is the development of the Kingdom of God in various fields of life, especially in the fields of culture, education, environment, ecclesiastical structure, politics, family, lay ministry, faith and the Eucharist. Kingdom-oriented catechesis is holistic. The aim is not only to develop understanding but also to prioritize the appreciation and manifestation of faith in daily concrete actions. Therefore the process is not monologue but interactive-communicative. The method of 3 M is that the people together look at their situation, evaluate it in the light of the Scriptures, and carry out follow-up actions. The people's satisfaction with the implementation of the people catechesis has not been satisfactory because the facilitators are not creative and the lack of skill in facilitating people catechesis meetings. Abstract

In the face of the rapid development of technology and the increasing demand for efficient energy management, controlling household lights remotely has become an essential feature of modern smart homes. This research aims to develop and test a remote lighting control system using the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, based on Arduino, which can be operated via a smartphone application to improve energy efficiency. The method used is an experimental approach with a quantitative design, where the system's functionality is evaluated in real-life settings. The system was tested across different locations, and the results show that it functions well with response times ranging from 1.6 to 3.99 seconds, demonstrating the system's dynamic responsiveness. The system allows users to operate lights remotely, helping reduce energy consumption in households. The implications of this study suggest that the IoT-based lighting control system can significantly contribute to energy savings, increase user convenience, and reduce carbon emissions. The findings also open up possibilities for expanding smart home technologies in resource-constrained environments. Further research is recommended to test the scalability of the system in larger residential settings and to explore its integration with other smart home devices for more comprehensive energy management solutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the principles of faith pedagogy in catechesis activities of the people in Mok Parish, Flores, as well as identify the gap between theory and practice that takes place in the field. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with interview, observation, and documentation techniques involving parish priests, station administrators, KBG chairmen, and congregations at Waekekik Station. The results of the study show that the catechesis activities of the people are still instructive and formal, where the people are physically present but less involved in a reflective and participatory way. The factors that cause the low implementation of faith pedagogy include limited faith understanding, weak spiritual motivation, economic busyness, geographical terrain, and lack of facilitator capacity in implementing participatory methods. Analysis based on the theories of shared Christian praxis, experiential learning, and andragogy confirms that effective faith learning requires contextual experience, reflection, and dialogue of faith. This study recommends the need to update the catechesis method based on faith pedagogy that is more participatory and contextual, training facilitators, and the development of catechesis materials that are relevant to the lives of rural people. This approach is expected to be able to make catechesis a means of transforming faith that is alive and grounded in the social reality of the people.

Abstract

This article examines how participatory catechesis can serve as a catalyst for transforming the spirituality of the faithful by integrating theological reflection with empirical insights from a rural Catholic community in Flores, Indonesia. Despite the regularity of parish activities, many communities continue to experience a devotional life marked by routine participation, limited personal reflection, and minimal integration of faith into daily life. Drawing on the framework of Shared Christian Praxis, experiential learning theory, and contemporary theological understandings of Christian spirituality, this study investigates how dialogical, reflective, and experience-based catechesis can deepen spiritual awareness and foster interior transformation. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through interviews, participant observation, and document analysis in Stasi Waekekik of Paroki Mok, Flores, Indonesia. The findings reveal that participatory catechesis enhances engagement, encourages critical reflection on lived experiences, strengthens communal identity, and nurtures a spirituality rooted in active discipleship rather than passive observance. The study concludes that participatory catechesis is a vital pastoral approach capable of renewing the spiritual life of the faithful, particularly in rural communities where traditional didactic methods remain dominant. Practical recommendations are offered for catechists, parish leaders, and pastoral agents to cultivate catechetical environments that promote spiritual growth through participatory, contextual, and transformative learning.
