Abstract

Abstract: The Urgency of Building Concept In Meaningful Socio-Spatial Learning.  The world which steadily changes and brings about complexity of ideas, objects and human requires everyone  to have consistency and coherence in thinking. It is  possible if only the concept is proper, valid, evident, true and useful. The concept is a reasoning process which is designated in reflection, abstraction of the facts  or data, attributes and real experience. The  strong, accurate and true concept  interplay sustainably between sensation and reflection, which will determine the quality of knowledge, attitude and skill. In the course of learning, a mature concept will determine the ability to control and develop materials both for teachers and students, which affect  the level of learning outcomes. Moreover, mastering and strengthening a good concept will make more meaningful spatial learning, that is raising students’ awareness and sensitivity in interaction, interrelation and interdependence with others and environment. Dunia yang senantiasa berubah dan memiliki kompleksitas  ide, benda dan manusia menuntut seseorang untuk memiliki konsistensi dan koherensi dalam berpikir,  yang hanya mungkin bila berdasarkan pada konsep yang tepat, valid, eviden, benar, dan  bermanfaat.  Konsep merupakan suatu kegiatan akal budi yang ditandai dengan melakukan refleksi/abstraksi terhadap fakta/data, atribut dan pengalaman nyata. Konsep yang kuat, akurat  dan benar merupakan keberlanjutan yang utuh antara sensasi dan  refleksi, yang akan menentukan kualitas berpengetahuan, bersikap dan berketerampilan seseorang. Dalam dunia pembelajaran, konsep yang matang dan jelas akan menentukan kemampuan untuk penguasaan dan pengembangan materi yang baik bagi guru dan siswa, yang berakibat pada tingkat capaian hasil belajarnya. Lebih dari itu, penguasaan dan penguatan konsep yang baik pada diri siswa akan membantu pembelajaran yang lebih bermakna spasial, di mana dapat membantu menumbuhkan kesadaran dan kepekaan siswa dalam melakukan interaksi, interrelasi dan interdependensi dengan sesama dan alam lingkungannya.  Konsep yang baik tentang diri, sesama dan alam lingkungan akan menentukan cara siswa memposisikan diri dalam ruang lingkungan alam.Kata kunci: concept building, pembelajaran bermakna sosial-spasial

Abstract

Indonesia as a developing country that has the level of social problems that high enough, requires education facility is based on the critical thinking. Education which is based on the critical thinking this will form the younger generation that has the capability of knowledge, attitudes, and skills to troubleshoot various social issues, good happens in himself, or that occurred in the community. Many research that gives the impression of the importance of this critical thinking based education so that they can become a consideration for education stakeholders in Indonesia to apply and integrate it in the system of the curriculum, and the teaching material content in the classroom. In order to assist the education stakeholders in implementing and integrating, then there needs to be a reconstruction of ideas and thinking about this critical thinking based education. Now the reconstruction method of ideas, in addition, based on the empirical fact about factual teaching in the age of high school, also based on the study and analysis of a variety of literature closely related to critical thinking based education.

Abstract

Abstract The Human Development Index (HDI) is a composite index: health indicators through life expectancy, education indicators through mean expectations and school length, and per capita real purchasing power. The HDI level of NTT province in 2016 is 63.13 points, and Manggarai District in the same year amounted to 61.87 points. When compared with the national HDI, HDI Kabupaten Manggarai is still low. Therefore, it is necessary to develop Manggarai HDM strategy and policy during 2016-2021.Purpose. Develop strategies and policies to improve the Human Development Index in Manggarai 2016-2021. Methods. Analyzing Data publication BPS East Nusa Tenggara  and Manggarai District 2014-2016, health profile of Manggarai District. Qualitative data obtained from the FGD preparation of Medium Term Development Plan Manggarai District 2016-2021. 42 FGD participants 42 persons. Results. The development of economic, education and health development strategies and policies that can accelerate the growth of HDI in Manggarai district during 2016-2021. Conclusion.IPM in Manggarai district has been in the "moderate" group with 2014 figure of 60.08 points, 2015 by 60.87 points, and by 2016. The growth of HDI between 2015-2016 is 1.31% if using the reduction of shortfall, the growth of HDI in Manggarai is included in slow category because the acquisition rate is <1.70. Accelerating the growth of HDI is a hope for all parties. Therefore, effective strategies and policies are needed to boost the slow growth of HDI to accelerate by utilizing all available resources. Keywords: Human Development Index, Development Strategy

Abstract

Bunuh diri adalah fenomen yang mencemaskan masyarakat beberapa tahun terakhir di wilayah Manggarai Raya. Angka bunuh diri cenderung meningkat selama tiga tahun terakhir. Sebagai dosen di Universitas Katolik Indonesia St. Paulus, kami terpanggil menanggapi fenomena ini dengan melakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat. Kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan bimbingan kelompok kategorial. Pendekatan ini dilaksanakan dengan bentuk ceramah, diskusi, curah pendapat, dan berbagi pengalaman. Bimbingan dilakukan pada komunitas-komunitas orang muda di asrama atau tempat tinggal. Dampak dari kegiatan ini adalah: 1) orang muda semakin sadar akan eksistensi dirinya sebagai harapan keluarga, masyarakat, gereja dan bangsa; (2) Munculnya kesadaran kritis orang muda dalam memosisikan diri di tengah perubahan dan perkembangan yang begitu pesat; (3) Bertumbuhnya sikap optimis akan hidup yang lebih baik dalam diri orang muda dengan mulai merencanakan masa depan dengan baik sejak saat ini.

Abstract

The effort to maintain the balance of the natural environment is the responsibility of all humans on earth. The Waso Community (Anak Waso Community, AWAS.com) and the Waso indigenous community have been trying to carry out their responsibilities by carrying out reforestation activities for three years. To see the extent of these efforts carried out and get its impact, it is necessary to do social research. The main objective of this social research is to observe and evaluate comprehensively the steps of the Waso children's community in carrying out reforestation activities for three years in the Bangka Poa region, as well as the impact of the activities carried out. To describe the efforts of the Awas.Com community in protecting the environment, researchers conducted social research carried out using the Planning, Organizing, Acting, Impact (POAI) method. The research results illustrate that this reforestation activity has shown a positive impact in the form of the recovery of the natural conditions of the Bangka Poa region and the stable water debit in several springs. The research study also looks at and evaluates that reforestation activities for three years in a row have had a direct or indirect impact on the growth and development of ecological, sociological, economic and religious awareness and responsibilities in the community and Waso young generation.

Abstract

Salah satu strategi untuk membentuk karakter peserta didik adalah pengembangan pembelajaran muatan lokal. Pembelajaran muatan lokal telah diterapkan di sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Manggarai. Hal ini penting sejalan dengan fenomena sikap dan perilaku peserta didik yang menyimpang, seperti kurang sopan dengan orang yang lebih tua, tidak patuh (sundur), tawuran, malas, tidak kreatif, kurang peduli dengan sesama, suka kata-kata kasar. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan urgensi dan model mata pelajaran muatan lokal berbasis budaya Manggarai dalam menunjang penguatan pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa muatan lokal berbasis budaya urgen jika dijalankan secara sistematis dan konsisten berdasarkan beberapa prinsip yaitu, prinsip relevansi, efektivitas, fleksibilitas, dan diferensiasi. Selanjutnya model pembelajaran muatan lokal yang diterapkan adalah model tae (memberitahu), model toming (contoh), model pakep (memberi tahu dan memberi contoh), model hae (tutorial sebaya), model lonto leok (musyawarah). Melalui kegiatan muatan local, peserta didik diharapkan memiliki berbagai keterampilan sosial praktis, seperti nenti ba weki (bertingkah laku santun), bae mbate (mengetahui warisan leluhur), haeng tae (memperoleh pengetahuan nilai budaya), molor tombo (keterampilan bekomunikasi), nganceng pande (mampu menerapkan pengetahuan ), to’o bombong (sikap bangga terhadap budaya sendiri)

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the role of parents in assisting of students studying during the period of studies from home, as well as to describe the constraints of parents to do that activity. This research used qualitative approach with library research method. Data were collected using documentation techniques and analyzed by adopting the data analysis model from Miles and Hubermann. The results showed that the role of parents in assisting of students studying during the period can be describe as 1) a teachers at home, where parents can guide and accompany children to study remotely from home, 2) as facilitator, 3) as motivators and 4) as influences or directors. However, there were several obstacles faced by parents in online learning like 1) lack of understanding of the material by parents, 2) do not have enough time to accompany children because they have to work., 3) parents are impatient in accompanying children while studying at home, 4) difficulty in operating gadgets, 5) unstable internet service coverage and 6) no electricity. The solution that can be done to maximize the role of parents is to learn to understand technology and consult with teachers regarding children's learning progress.

Abstract

Abstract. The elderly, people with disabilities, people with HIV/AIDS, and people with mental disorders in vulnerable groups during the Covid-19 pandemic. This group must be given special attention because they are susceptible to Corona virus. The church as a social humanitarian institution is very concerned to pay attention to this group by doing charitable social services. This charitable social service aims to restore the physical and psychological state of this vulnerable group from the bad situation caused by the emergence of this Corona outbreak. These charitable social service activities are carried out using a combination of social work and social analysis methods. The impact of this activity is the recovery of physiological and psychological conditions of vulnerable groups. They were finally allowed to undergo this pandemic and new normal without any worries. Charitable social services have helped to make this group aware of their hygiene awareness in maintaining the condition of their bodies during this pandemic and in the future. The presence of the OiC Command Post in charitable social service activities in the form of providing social assistance in the form of food, vitamins and masks is enough to help vulnerable groups in meeting their nutritional needs during this pandemic. Adequate nutritional intake will greatly help maintain immunity and physical stamina, sustain economic needs, and maintain a healthy body. This charitable social service activity also had an impact on recognizing the existence of the Catholic Church as a religious social institution that not only offered heavenly (eschatological) salvation, but was also able to proclaim the real worldly salvation, now and here. Abstrak. Kaum lanjut usia/jompo, difabel, penderita HIV/AIDS, dan kaum yang mengalami gangguan mental termasuk kelompok rentan pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Kelompok ini mesti diperhatikan secara khusus karena rentan terpapar virus Corona. Gereja sebagai lembaga sosial kemanusiaan sangat berkepentingan untuk memperhatikan kelompok ini dengan melakukan pelayanan sosial karitatif. Pelayanan sosial karitatif ini bertujuan untuk memulihkan keadaan fisik dan psikis kelompok rentan ini dari situasi buruk akibat munculnya wabah Corona ini. Kegiatan pelayanan sosial karitatif ini dijalankan dengan menggunakan metode gabungan antara pekerjaan sosial dan analisis sosial. Dampak dari kegiatan ini adalah pulihnya keadaan fisiologis dan dan psikologis kelompok rentan. Mereka akhirnya boleh menjalani masa pandemi dan new normal ini tanpa rasa khawatir dan cemas. Pelayanan sosial karitatif telah turut menyadarkan kelompok ini agar tetap memiliki kesadaran higienik dalam memelihara dan menjaga kondisi tubuhnya selama masa pandemi ini dan masa-masa yang akan datang. Kehadiran tim posko OiC dalam kegiatan pelayanan sosial karitatif dalam bentuk pemberian bantuan sosial berupa sembako, vitamin dan masker cukup membantu kelompok rentan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan asupan gizi selama masa pandemi ini. Asupan gizi yang cukup akan sangat membantu mempertahankan imunitas dan stamina fisik, kelangsungan kebutuhan ekonomi, serta menjaga kesehatan tubuh. Kegiatan pelayanan sosial karitatif ini juga berdampak pada pengakuan terhadap eksistensi Gereja Katolik sebagai lembaga sosial religius yang tidak saja menawarkan keselamatan surgawi (eskatologis), tetapi juga mampu mewartakan secara nyata keselamatan duniawi, sekarang dan di sini.

Abstract

Abstract:This study aims to describe the ability of media and the critical power of students in Manggarai Regency. The ability to media is measured by indicators: The types of social media that are most often used, the ability to apply social media, frequently sought media content, the critical power of social media content, and social media content that is often distributed. The type of research used was a descriptive cross sectional study. The research respondents were 353 students who were determined using the proportional stratified random sampling technique. Data was collected using an online questionnaire. To guarantee the credibility of the data, researchers applied the one vote method and cross-checked through interviews via mobile phones. Data is presented in the form of tables and graphs. The results of the study show that the types of media most used by students are Facebook and WhatsApp. Both types of social media are applied by students themselves. Most students are able to apply these social media proficiently. However, many students use the media to access content that does not support their intellectual knowledge and insight. The use of media is limited to building social relations or friendship among students. This habit has an impact on students' critical power in assessing hoax content and factual content. The results of this study illustrate the discrepancy between the ability to apply media and students' critical power. This condition must be the concern of educators and stakeholders in Manggarai Regency.Keywords: Media, Critical Power, Manggarai Flores Students Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan bermedia dan daya kritis mahasiswa di Kabupaten Manggarai. Kemampuan bermedia diukur berdasarkan indikator-indikator: Jenis media sosial yang paling sering digunakan, kemampuan mengaplikasikan media sosial, konten media yang sering dicari, daya kritis terhadap konten media sosial, dan konten media sosial yang sering disebarkan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif cross sectional. Responden penelitian berjumlah 353 mahasiswa yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik proportional stratified random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner online. Untuk menjamin kredibilitas data, peneliti menerapkan metode one vote dan melakukan crosscheck melalui wawancara via handphone.  Data disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis media yang paling banyak digunakan mahasiswa adalah facebook dan whatsapp. Kedua jenis media sosial ini diaplikasikan sendiri oleh mahasiswa. Sebagian besar mahasiswa mampu mengaplikasikan media-media sosial tersebut secara mahir. Namun, banyak mahasiswa menggunakan media untuk mengakses konten-konten yang kurang mendukung pengetahuan dan wawasan intelektual mereka. Penggunaan media hanya sebatas membangun relasi sosial atau pertemanan di antara mahasiswa. Kebiasaan ini berdampak pada daya kritis mahasiswa dalam menilai konten-konten hoax dan konten-konten fakta. Hasil penelitian ini menggambarkan adanya diskrepansi antara kemampuan mengaplikasikan media dengan daya kritis mahasiswa. Kondisi ini mesti menjadi perhatian para pendidik dan stakeholdersdi Kabupaten Manggarai.Kata Kunci: Media, Daya Kritis, Mahasiswa Manggarai Flores

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Pandemik Covid-19 telah berdampak pada masyarakat pesisir di wilayah utara dan selatan Manggarai. Mereka mengalami keterpurukan sosial ekonomi selama patogenesis Covid-19. Daya tawar hasil panen di laut dan di ladang mengalami penurunan drastis. Situasi ini membuat masyarakat pesisir mengalami kesulitan dalam menjalani hidup. Persoalan ini menarik untuk dikaji dan menjadi dasar dalam melakukan pengabdian masyarakat dalam bentuk bantuan sosial dan pendidikan kesehatan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberi bantuan sosial dan pendidikan kesehatan kepada masyarakat pesisir Kegiatan bantuan sosial dan pendidikan kesehatan dilakukan agar masyarakat pesisir bisa terbantu secara sosial ekonomi pada masa pandemi dan kesadaran kritisnya tumbuh terkait bahaya Covid-19. Kegiatan ini juga bertujuan menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya perilaku hidup sehat dan bersih. Dengan menambah asupan makanan yang cukup, tubuh mereka memiliki imunitas yang baik sehingga bisa bertahan dari serangan virus. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat pesisir ini dilakukan dengan mengadaptasi dan memodifikasi pendekatan IPOAI (Identifying, Planning, Organizing, Acting, Impact). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat pesisir akan pentingnya memelihara kesehatan. Bantuan sosial yang diberikan juga membantu meningkatkan asupan gizi sehingga menjaga imunitas tubuh di masa pandemik Covid-19. Kata Kunci: bantuan sosial, pendidikan kesehatan, dampak sosial ekonomi, Covid-19 [English]: The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted coastal communities in the northern and southern regions of Manggarai. They experienced a socio-economic downturn during the pathogenesis of Covid-19. The bargaining power of harvest in the sea and the fields has decreased dramatically. This situation makes it difficult for coastal communities to live their daily life. This issue is interesting to study and become the basis for this community service program which aims to provide social assistance and health education to coastal communities. The programs were carried out to support economic condition of coastal communities in the pandemic, educate the danger of Covid-19, and raise public awareness of the importance of healthy and clean-living behaviors. For example, adequate food intake will help their bodies have good immunity to survive the virus. This community service program refers the adaptation and modification of the IPOAI approach (Identifying, Planning, Organizing, Acting, Impact). The results show the increase in awareness of coastal communities of the importance of maintaining health. The social assistance also helps to increase nutritional intake and thus helps maintain body immunity during the Covid-19 pandemic.
