Abstract

Penelitian tentang kahoot sebagai media pendukung berketekese dengan berbasis teknologi digital ini bertujuan untuk menemukan peluang media permainan online dalam usaha mengembangkan proses katekese yang berbasis teknologi digital. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan subyek penelitian para katekis. Sampel penelitian adalah para katekis paroki yang berkarya di dekenat Tangerang 1 dan 2. Pengumpulan data pendukung dilakukan dengan cara menyebarkan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media yang digunakan oleh para ketekis di paroki dewasa ini sudah cukup beragam, yakni media berbasis non-IT dan berbasis IT. Pengunaan media dalam proses katekese dapat mengembangkan ranah kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik dalam diri peserta secara maksimal. Berdasarkan hasil simulasi Kahoot, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa Kahoot merupakan salah satu media alternatif dapat dimanfaatkan dalam proses berkatekese.

Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic conditioned people to implement social distancing in each social activity. This condition impacted the process of catechesis. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of three one three online catechesis processes in keeping the essence of catechesis during the Covid-19 pandemic situation in grass root level. The facilitator of catechesis performed planning, implementation, and evaluation of the online catechesis using gadgets and the internet. Since the early 1980s, faith dan spiritual developers used computers and the internet to promote faith and spiritual development. The catechesis facilitator implemented "three one three" online catechesis methods to respond to popular online catechesis through social media, such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, during the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Those examples show only one-way communication of faith (faith monologue), which does not represent the essence of catechesis. The researcher employed the qualitative method in this descriptive research and applied random sampling to nine families of the primary community of Curug Parish-Tangerang City. The result shows that the three stages and the thirteen steps of the online catechesis process effectively keep the essence of catechesis as a faith dialogue or two communication methods.

Abstract

St. John's Catholic Junior High School's students are the young generation heading towards a competitive and challenging future in all fields. To deal with present and future situations, they need important values ​​in their life. One of the important values is responsibility. Responsibility is one of the core values of St. John's Catholic School. Today, accountability is one of the virtues that are not easy to be developed. In the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, helping students to be the responsible person is becoming increasingly difficult because teachers cannot accompany them directly. Teachers need to find an effective approach and media. St. John's has a yearly recollection program to build students' values ​​and character, such as responsibility. To answer the problem and at the same time take advantage of the existing opportunities, the community servants of Atma Jaya Unika offer a form of recollection with a new approach, namely the four-sixth online recollection program via Edmodo. This recollection program develops four phases and six steps approach. Students follow the online recollection process from their respective homes. Since the beginning of the recollection process, they are conditioned to be actively involved and maintain this active involvement throughout the recollection process. It is an opportunity for them to own and build the value of responsibility. Edmodo is an educational platform that many schools have used to benefit learning activities. However, Edmodo for the four-sixth recollection model in St. John's Catholic Schools is the first time that has been conducted. The online recollection activity via Edmodo was effective, both by the school and the service team. Based on the recollection process record, students can also show their responsibility. They did and submitted their reflection and other sharing discussion results via Edmodo.

Abstract

Children's faith education is the responsibility of every parent as the primary and first educator. Regarding the catechesis for the preparation of children for the first communion, the idea from the Catechesi Tradendae document (CT, 68) regarding family catechesis is an important matter that needs to be considered. As irreplaceable educators of faith, parents can continue to carry out faith education for their children at every opportunity and throughout their lives. This paper is an idea that emerged from a study that tried to find an alternative model of online catechesis during the Covid-19 pandemic, which was carried out in joint collaboration between parish catechists together with parents and children of prospective first Communion recipients, using the approach flipped catechesis in the family. Qualitative research methods were used to examine field data using observation, interviews, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) techniques involving several parishes in the Archdiocese of Jakarta (KAJ). One of the parishes in the Tangerang area, namely the Curug parish, was used as a pilot parish to study in-depth the online catechesis practice carried out by parents for children who will receive the first communion in coordination with the parish catechists. In the end, this study recommends an online catechesis model using the google classroom application media which involves the active role of parents of first Communion children. This catechesis model is seen as capable of creating interactive faith communication in family life and becoming an opportunity for the development of family catechesis in the future. In this paper, the catechesis model is called Family Flipped Catechesis.
