Abstract

Abstract Students are expected to be able to improve their creative thinking, critical thinking and problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills in learning mathematics. To achieve this goal, teachers must have the skills to apply Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTs)-based learning models with authentic assessment techniques. One of the authentic assessment techniques is project assessment. This community service aims to help teachers in the Caianjur Region have the ability to develop project tasks and their assessment instruments in mathematics lessons. The training participants were 27 elementary school teachers. The training was carried out by providing the concept of project assessment, developing project assessment instruments and practice by applying cooperative learning models. At the end of the training, a self-assessment was carried out to measure the ability to understand the training material, training activities and follow-up of training results in elementary schools where teachers teach. The results of this training show that training participants can know how to apply project assessment in the learning process in mathematics subjects, develop project assignments in mathematics lessons, and are able to share knowledge with peers.

Abstract

This study aims to review the use of virtual reality in safety training through a meta-analysis approach. The choice of topics in this study was motivated by the lack of studies related to correlations that discuss Virtual Reality" and "safety amid the high use of Virtual Reality in various aspects. The method in this study follows the Preferred Reporting for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA). PRISMA was created with the aim of helping to ensure clarity and transparency of reporting, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. The meta-analysis conducted resulted in the discovery of a large-size effect on the relationship between Virtual Reality and Safety. Based on the analysis with Jamovi, the results of the heterogeneity study obtained a value of Q = 170.487, a value of I2 = 96.25%, and Tau2 = 0.3825 (with SE = 0.1937). In addition, the effect size value is 0.67 (RE Model), the Eggers Regression value is -2.104, and in the forest plot image, it is known that the data represented by black dots are located inside the white triangle and are around the triangle.

Abstract

In this study, the factors causing differences in students' abilities were focused on the intelligence factor used by the school to place students in the Science and Social Studies specialization group. This difference in placement was based on cognitive ability, and student interest carried out by the school. Schools still consider the division of the second major to be more critical based on moderate to low levels of cognitive abilities, so students are in the social studies class group, while moderate to high cognitive abilities are in the science class group. Citizenship education subjects are divided into two groups, where the groups have been divided based on students' cognitive abilities. In this group condition, the two social studies and science class groups should have a different impact on student learning outcomes. Is the justification that the Social Studies class group, which is grouped based on medium to low cognitive abilities, has lower student end-of-semester exam results than the Science class group, or is it the other way around? This research is included in the quasi-experimental research with a purposive sampling technique. This research was conducted on class XII high school students majoring in science and social studies. Data collection techniques for learning outcomes use good descriptions to measure knowledge or skills. The data analysis technique used is non-parametric (Mann-Whitney U Test). The results of the research show that the learning outcomes of students majoring in civic education in social studies are lower than those majoring in natural sciences, or the learning outcomes of students majoring in natural sciences are higher in citizenship education than students majoring in social studies.
