Abstract

In everyday conversations, there have been found some non-observe to the principle of cooperation which result in different interpretations (implicature). It is a situation where the speaker wants to convey a meaning that is more than the word spoken. Conversational Implicature is intended for the hearer to understand what is said by the speaker; to interpret, to suggest or to explain something. The purpose of the research was to reveal the implicature of speech acts that occur in court in cases of murder of human rights activists. The result of the research is then analyzed with the aim of getting the expected findings. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data from the research are in the form of text of utterances in the court taken from the internet. The results of this research indicate that the implicature which indicated by evidence of a lie was 15 utterances or 16.8% from 89 utterances or 83.2%. The utterances that was produced included non-observe to one maxim; maxim of quality, non-observe to two maxim; maxim of quality and quantity, and non-observe to three maxim; maxim of manner, quantity, quality and maxim of manner, relevance, quality.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Kondisi pasien yang selalu bervariasi dan jumlah pasien yang selalu berubah membuat perawat sangat mudah mengalami kelelahan. Kelelahan berkepanjangan akan menyebabkan stres. Stres kerja adalah stres yang timbul dari tuntutan kerja yang melebihi kemampuan seseorang untuk mengatasinya, sehingga dapat menimbulkan berbagai macam reaksi, berupa reaksi fisiologis, psikologis dan perilaku. Tujuan: Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kelelahan kerja dengan stress kerja pada perawat di rumah sakit. Metode: Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah studi Literature Review menggunakan database Google Scholar dan PubMed dengan rentan waktu 2017-2022, dengan memasukan kata kunci diantaranya, yaitu “Work Fatigue” and “Work Stress” and “Nurses”. Artikel yang didapatkan sebanyak 1.440 artikel dan di screening hingga menjadi 10 artikel. Diskusi: Hasil dari Literatur Review 10 artikel, menyatakan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara kelelahan kerja dengan stres kerja. Kelelahan berkepanjangan akan menyebabkan stres, stres kerja adalah stres yang timbul dari tuntutan kerja yang melebihi kemampuan seseorang untuk mengatasinya, sehingga dapat menimbulkan berbagai macam reaksi, berupa reaksi fisiologis, psikologis dan kognitif. Kesimpulan: Hasil dari literatur review menyatakan bahwa ada hubungan antara kelelahan kerja dengan stres kerja pada perawat di rumah sakit, hal ini disebabkan kelelahan secara berkepanjangan akan menyebabkan stres dimana stres merupakan reaksi fisik dan psikis terhadap suatu tuntutan yang menyebabkan ketegangan dan gangguan stabilitas kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Covid-19 is becoming pandemic of such magnitude that it has caused a global issue to society. The research aim is to know the effectiveness of posters of Covid-19 Pandemic which taken from Tribunnews.com Mass Media. The research uses Semiotic method which is used to uncover the semiotic meaning from the poster expressions of Covid-19 Pandemic. The research aims to find out signs that represent the posters; to find out meanings that contain on poster. This study uses qualitative method. The findings of the research shows that there are 3 meaning on the poster namely semantic lexical, grammatical and contextual. Each sign has meaning. The way illustrator attracting audience’s attention is very smooth. Although the poster looks simply, the visual and the way s/he uses the colours. By the written, the slogan, the colour, and the design, the illustrator is successful in building people’s enthusiasms on the posters.

Abstract

This study examines how parents support home-based English language learning (ELL) among second-grade students in an Indonesian Islamic private elementary school. The study addresses the following research questions: (1) How do parents support their children’s English learning at home? (2) What motivates parents to be involved? and (3) What challenges do they encounter in providing support? Adopting a qualitative design, data were collected from 30 parents at SDIT Permata Hati (North Sumatra) through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews with three selected parents, and home-based documentation of learning resources and practices. Thematic analysis revealed three main themes: (a) instrumental and aspirational motivations driving parental involvement, (b) preferred support strategies such as private tutoring, exposure to English digital media, and embedding English in daily routines, and (c) a capability gap characterized by limited time, low English self efficacy, and pedagogical constraints, which led parents to rely heavily on external courses. The findings indicate that although parents hold strong positive attitudes toward English and recognize its importance for future academic and career opportunities, their involvement tends to be indirect and resource-dependent rather than pedagogically informed. These results imply the need for schools and policymakers to develop structured school-to-home support systems, including parent-oriented guidance, practical home-based learning toolkits, and accessible digital resources to empower parents with limited English proficiency. The study is limited by its small sample size and single-site design, which may restrict generalizability. Future research is recommended to explore how socio-cultural factors, parenting styles, and family values mediate parental involvement in diverse educational contexts.
